Been there a few times and it's a run of the mill restaurant. I keep giving it chances. It looks like they have a habit of charging for fried rice but when you get home you have white rice, this has happened every time I got take out. It is an unassuming, indistinguishable little place in a strip center. There was nothing wrong with the food. It was tasty and adequate portions. I dined in and the service was adequate. However, the ambience was storage room clutter. Pop cooler, 3 unassuming small seating spaces amide boxes of stuff, clutter, with a plexiglass register and perhaps partial prep area at the back right. My food was served in carry out basic containers, not at all like the lovely presentation shown in the pictures. Overall, if you were doing take out it would be acceptable. But, no reason to dine in. It isn't as nice a dine in experience as a fast food place, nor, the vintage Cheque of an old diner. read more

The variety of choices and styles is great but there is nothing on the menu that is actually better than average fast food Chinese that would justify their higher than average prices. Been eating here and ordering delivery, at least once a week, since last June (Jan 2022) and haven't caught anyone smiling or willing to chat about the food yet. It's as tho everyone is afraid to speak. They have an app that actually is decent but they charge more for delivery than if you order through DoorDash. Be weary of the house offerings; they take plain fried rice and add onions and 4 pieces of shrimp and then double the price. Circleville had better chinese food at one time but now seems to be stuck with this average offering. Other Hokkaido locations have much better food offerings. read more

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The menu selection was great. The prices were good. I ordered the lunch 3 sushi rolls. I'm picky about my sushi and it was really good! The "yummy" sauce had a good flavor, better than most places as I don't typically care for yum yum sauce. My only complaint would be that you have to pay .50 for a small container of sauce when most places offer it free. My daughter got hibachi chicken. She liked the sauce on the chicken but said the chicken had a lot of skin/fat on it which she's not a fan of. She said the fried rice had no flavor, tasted like oil. But it was good after being covered in yum yum sauce. The service was very friendly, but a little slow. Food for the entire restaurant was all brought out at different times. It would have been nice to have my soup first and the entree's together. But maybe they'll get that ironed out. read more

They screwed me too with that fried rice upcharge. That and shortchanging me on a large white rice (the cheapest food on earth), also no real soy sauce available, skimpy with the fortune cookies, catch an attitude when trying to claim the "free" soda, no pea pods or water chestnuts, and no actual chili peppers or powder used in their hot dishes. Sad excuse for a chinese place, even the pop-up, hole in the wall types. They should be ashamed of lying to people like this. read more

Ordered food to be delivered to my place of employment today. While eating I noticed a green thing floating in the sauce. After investigating and taking pictures it was found to be maggots. A fellow employee and I was sharing because the amount of food is large enough. After making it know to the lady that answered the phone we were asked to text the pic while on the phone. She laughed and said "are you kidding me" like we put them there. Working in health care this is the last thing we would do. Also after digging through the food we found several in the rice. They also refused to give my money back stating if I would return the food they'd refund me. They knew I would be reporting this to the health department. Please see photos below. read more

Before: Helping to run and manage a sushi bar for 11 years, I know quality. This place blew me away. So unexpected. It was very very clean, the staff was incredibly friendly and the food came fresher than any small restaurant I have ever been to. We had sushi, a few appetizers, and hibachi to try it all. Wow! Just wow! Flavors were on point and you could tell they really care. Food by far is the best Chinese food, in my opinion around Circleville, Only downfall I am not over the moon for is the charging for sauces (i.e. soy sauce, duck sauce and spicy mustard) per each item. Love their variety as well with both traditional menu items along with sushi! read more

The place seems amazing but they are a little unfriendly and I think the server / cashier is ill. Yelling to the cook in the back was not only unexpected but unprofessional. I'm afraid to eat my sushi thinking I might get sick after hearing her cough. I know it was a gamble coming to a sushi restaurant off of a state highway in rural Ohio. It does have so much potential. If you do visit look up and notice how dirty the air vents are. I will visit again in the future and see if they have improved. I put Hokkaido on the watch list. read more

Two stars because you can't simply mess up rice, it's almost great anywhere you go. The steak quality for hibachi was less than pleasing. The orange chicken was overly breaded and had microscopic( slightly exaggerated) pieces of chicken inside the breading. The honey chicken had better quality chicken inside the breading and was okay. Needless to say Panda Express still beats this place or Siam Hibachi in Grove City! read more

I would not recommend this place. We tried Mongolian beef which was all onions and hibachi chicken which had every vegetable you can imagine with a little bit of chicken that was not good at all. The rice was supposed to be fried rice and was just bland yellow rice. Very disappointed in food quality. read more

The food was adequate but nothing special. There was literally NO service. In Circleville for a quilt show and looking for a quick lunch. Only 2 tables for eat-in. No greeting or instruction. We asked and were told to seat ourselves. No table service. We ordered at the register and sat back down. The food (including soup) was served in take-out containers. First time trying out their deliver service. So honest review time. Deliver process went well no complaints there. However on the food I ordered their lunch special of Garlic Beef while my fiancé order their deal on sushi. We also ordered an egg roll, miso soup, skewers. So the egg roll was ok. He loved the meat skewers and his sushi was really good. However the garlic beef was disappointing for me. It was suppose to be spicy and I didn't tasty any garlic flavor. So my opinion is worth it for the sushi but they need to tweak their other food options a bit. Deliver service was awesome to have as the area needed a deliver option besides pizza. read more

Got the peppered "steak" it was not steak, can't really tell what it actually was but didn't taste like steak, look like steak or have the texture of steak. because it didn't taste good I over looked the fact there was only 3 tiny pieces of meat in the whole meal, the rest was a while green pepper and onion with way too much sauce. Surprisingly good and unexpected in Circleville! 3 rolls for $12 with a soda for lunch was a great deal and the sushi chef was very interested in my satisfaction. Very good flavor on the spicy tuna, but difficult to differentiate from the spicy salmon I got as well. Overall, very good quality sushi and service for a nice price. Giver a go! read more

It is great to have access to sushi in Circleville outside of a Kroger. The price point is good, and the rolls have more fish in them than rice, which is great! The eat-in are is just a few tables, and a lot of their business appears to be to-go. The non-sushi menu is varied and what I have had and seen is good. Wednesday's were 20% off of rolls, and that certainly motivated us to seek them out, but the last time we went there they had stopped the promotion. It is not saying much, but this is one the best restaurants in Circleville. read more

Visited on a Friday. Service was awesome, clean and food was amazing!! The presentation was that of a very high end restaurant for the California Roll. For other meals, I would ask them to go lite on onions, but otherwise the dishes we ordered were tasty and well prepared. This was our first visit, but we will be back.
