Extremely disappointed with my recent experience. The amount of each portion served has been reduced to a few spoonfuls. Long wait, for little food! After a long wait for to go meals when we arrived at home we found no napkins, sauce, Forks, fortune cookies, then I found 2 pieces of meat and only 1 shrimp in my steak and shrimp. 6 pieces of orange chicken. Disappointed with the location. I understand we are going through shelter in place and things are handled differently. However having the doors wide open we're insects, bugs, etc can fly in and land on the open food is unacceptable. As we got home with our food I opened the container and 2 flying insects came out of the food! I have been coming to this location at least weekly since I moved to Hollister 6 years ago. Almost every single order is missing the items. The employees here are the most incompetent workers I have ever seen. They are in such a hurry that they don't pay attention and double check orders. I have been shorted hundreds of dollars worth of food. When I go in I check to see what's missing but with delivery you are screwed. I never see any employees that look like managers. Well I love Panda Express and their food, the Hollister California restaurant consistently disappoints. Is the San Jose State University student I am used to having my panda fresh will prepared and served me within a limited time frame. The Panda Express in Hollister is consistently lacking in fresh food and even when I am standing in line and letting the staff know I will be ordering something that is not there it seems that they refused to listen to me. Today I noticed that there was no orange chicken, which both of my I told the staff members that we would be ordering orange chicken, it seemed that there was nobody available to make it. While I told one employee we would be ordering orange chicken, it seemed to his job was only to prepare sides. The staff were unable to have our food fresh and ready in advance. We had to wait an extra 10 minutes in the restaurant for a takeout order which I tried to tell them in advance. When I asked why there was not an employee to start creating what we wanted to order I was told they were on break. Once the orange chicken was prepared, eight minutes later, two customers behind me were served first. I was already late for my errands, and did not really have the time to have individuals who came after me served first. It seems that the Panda Express and Hollister needs more Staff. I will not be returning this summer to Panda Express on Hollister because I am tired of having to wait for food, having to wait in line, and not being served in the proper order that food was ordered. While we were waiting for our order, a woman who ordered online at 11 a.m., who's trying to pick up her order at 2 pm. The staff had not even started to prepare for order. I don't know what's going on with Panda Express these days but lately the service hasn't been good. First off, no one there was able to translate for this elderly lady who only spoke Spanish so I gladly jumped in and helped but the messed up part was how Angel and Rhonda were speaking to her. They spoke to her with little patience and attitude. I'm not sure how it works but apparently the lady could not pay separate transactions once it was all rung up? That all together made me sad for the lady. It's hard enough as it is to come out, order and enjoy food with a language barrier but on top of that little patience and attitude from the people who are supposed to help you. THEN it got to our turn, The pictures you see are of my "bowl" this thing isn't even filled properly. Just a little scoop of expensive honey walnut shrimp, if im paying $1.25 extra for the shrimp I should at least get my f-ing moneys worth. This isn't the first time I get skimp ass servings but I sure damn hope it's the last. All these little servers need to be retrained. Still one of the poorest ran Panda Express restaurants in the chain. Frequently out of popular dishes. Do not come in near closing time, as they will refuse to cook food on the menu that they are out of. During our recent visit they were out of steamed rice. Seriously, streamed rice. We waited for over 20 minutes while they cooked more white rice. Panda Express never replies to corporate website comments, in store comments to management or receipt surveys. Customer service & legitimate concern for their patrons is lacking. I get the feeling they are just being cheap. Never comped a free meal for mistakes, crazy delays or errors. Not even a reply. Wow! I came by at 9:20 pm and most there items were either out or very little available. I didn't want to wait for what I wanted, since I was on the road headed home, so I choose what was available for expediency. They forgot the teriyaki sauce for my chicken, lucky I was watching. Then is was a gross, stale, and congealed. Furthermore all the chairs where up on the table, so there was no place to sit. Finally, I ate in my car before getting back on the road and notice they locked the doors by at least 9:35 pm. I saw three customers turned away because of the locked doors. Business must be good. My business is never that good that I can afford to turn customers away. I thought these were corporate stores. Maybe not since there are so many crappy reviews for this location, some empty responses, and nothing changing. Thankfully the locations I frequent in my city are well run. It boggles the mind to see such a poorly run business. So these workers/managers have no pride in themselves or their work. Working on being losers for life. Rarely have I seen such a mess. I would not recommended visiting Hollister's Panda Express due to its major flaw of rice texture. Honestly, I think you should just drive to Gilroy for a different Panda Express experience. The employees of Hollister's Panda Express could not fulfill the simple task of a good soft decent rice. Every time my girlfriend and I order fried rice, the texture is always that of a rock. With the pandemic I like that they offer a pick up option however they are taking real advantage of people not being able to see their order. I've been to many Panda locations and used to the generous portions. Today I placed an order for my family and when I arrived at home with our food we were surprised to see the tiny portions. I plan on updating the review for this location in about a month or so. I went on day#2 of operation and the lines were literally out the door. Hollister is obviously starving for new restaurants. I frequent a Panda location a few times a month. I like it. It's inexpensive and quality is usually pretty good. Here's my thoughts on the new location: Service: There were a lot of managers from other locations here to launch the new location. Service was decent and friendly enough. The portions they gave were smaller than what you usually get at the Salinas or other South Bay locations. I think maybe they were just trying to conserve food with the crowd of people there. The wait was about 30 minutes from the front of Papa Murphy's to paying for my family's meal. They handed out free samples to the line waiters. That was nice of them. Food: Not so good on the first outing. The Brocolli Beef was mostly just brocolli. There were two tiny fragments of beef. The Brocolli was severely undercooked and raw tasting. The chow mein was mostly onions and the noodles were really undercooked. The Orange Chicken was almost devoid of sauce. The potstickers were very oily. It felt like it sat static in my stomach for the rest of the afternoon. To be fair, I think I got the last of the chow mein and beef brocolli before a new batch came out. I tried to protest, but they just said, "no, it's ok" and scooped up the last remnants for me. A fresh batch of each came out about three people behind me. Bummer. Like I said, Hollister is starving for new restaurants. I'm hoping to go back in a month or two and see improvement. If the food stays the same as this experience, this location won't be seeing any more of my family's money any time soon. read more

It's Easter And We Ordered Food For 2:30 and wasn't ready til 3:15 I ordered it 1 week in advance and they had me waiting here for more than 45min. This place has only gotten worse with wait times for your food. I will only come here if I order online, which in the past has helped with not having to wait in the long line. Unfortunately, my new strategy no longer works because I still have to wait 10-15 minutes for my order when I arrive. Hollister Panda, please work on this. Extremely fast while working and always efficient :) The panda team is awesome :) food is always delicious and cooked to perfection :) kids are always welcomed here and it is good for small groups to come and eat together. They all are very nice when you want samples because it all looks so damn good! And if you are not sure what you'd like they are more than happy to suggest something based upon a few questions like "do you prefer sweet or spicy? Or a mixture?" I love coming here :) my guilty pleasure and my cheat day food when I am working out and dieting. They have a wok smart option for combos also! Not really sure why we keep giving them another shot. Each time they leave something out of our mobile orders. Tonight they left out all of the meat of one of our dinners, an entire entree (my son only eats orange chicken, so no need for rice or chow mein), and one of the sides. Luckily I checked when I got to the car and found this before we drove all the way home. On top of this, the prices are up and the portion sizes have gone down. It is so frustrating when a d's family makes plans to have dinner gets the family in car drive to the restaurant to find out they are closed. So the store hrs posted on the door say 10pm and the website says 10pm. Sign reads open doors are open yet we were stopped at the door by the manager yelling we're closed. That's so not cool.
