I should not give any stars to this location for many reasons. For starters, they have an impossible entrance to the drive-thru. You have to pull all the way around a sharp curve and once you are there, it is impossible to pull out if you have to leave and service moves at a snail's pace. Once we were finally waited on (the car in front if us just sat there for over 15 minutes before pulling up to the window.). With the construction, we were unable to pull out unless we wanted to jump a curb and drive down a small hill!! We repeated our orders and every time they were repeated back incorrectly (nothing even close to what we were ordering!). They were out of most fountain drinks, they had no iced tea and the girl seemed confused throughout the entire process. In addition, when she finally repeated our order back, most of it was incorrect and we could not get her to understand us. This review is a bit mouthy. Skip to the bottom for the TL;DR summation if you're in a hurry. Also, see my collage photos contrasting Panda's website photos with reality. __________ So I finally decided to go to Panda Express today (7/29/14) and try their "gourmet Asian cuisine." I should have continued to trust my instincts which had kept me away for months, but I thought, "What the heck" and decided to give Panda the benefit of the doubt. Typically, at a drive-thru, you place your order, they take your credit card, charge to the card, hand you back your card with receipt, then assemble your order. Panda's procedure unnerved me a tad as the attendant kept my card either in his pocket or laid it in the register until he finished assembling the order. This is a recipe for fraud. The menu states that a 4th entree can be added for $1.00. This is not the case in reality. An extra entree costs in the neighborhood of $2.50. The price is fine, but I brought the confusing menu to the attendant's attention and received an indecipherable response to which I can only compare a sub-dialect of Swahili. Having eaten at tons of Chinese-buffet-type restaurants in the past, I have a pretty good idea of the general expectation of food appearance in these places. So as I approached the drive-thru and noticed the menu adorned with glorious, professionally photographed food items, the first red flag goes up. My order consisted of those items which most appealed to me visually. Essentially, I was sucked in by their marketing and ordered broccoli beef, honey walnut shrimp, teriyaki chicken, and chow mein & spring rolls as sides. The broccoli beef was a tad above room temperature. There were two small pieces of beef. Half of the broccoli was undercooked. The honey walnut chicken (the most tasty of my selections) was almost cold, but had a good flavor. Served fresh and hot, this item would have actually been good. The teriyaki chicken was cooked properly, tender, juicy, and moderately warm, but had almost no teriyaki flavor. Served with more sauce, this item would have been quite tasty. As I received it - just baked chicken pieces. The chow mein was almost inedible. It was undercooked, tough, cold, and strayed farthest from the pictorial menu representation than any other item I ordered. Bleck! The spring rolls were crispy on the outside, as expected, but the cabbage filling had an almost chemical taste. They did not taste safe to eat. First visit here and I was sorely disappointed. I made an online order and when I got there, I stood for 10 min before anyone acknowledged me. There was another lady that came in at the same time as me and she stood waiting to place an order for about 10 mins as well. Had I not already paid for the order online, I would have left. Also, the dining room was dirty. No one bothered to wipe off tables to take the trash out. Large puddle of water in the floor with a caution sign over it. It was something that could have been easily moped up. When I was acknowledged, I still had to wait for them to cook the 3 smallest crispy shrimp ever. So.... G always raves about Panda Express, so a group of us all went to the Cordova location. We just recently got Panda Express in the Memphis area. Now there are two: one on Winchester and one on Germantown Parkway. I chose the two meats and one side option. I got fried rice with sweet fire chicken breast and Beijing beef. I enjoyed my meal. It is also tons of food for cheap. If I happened to be near one, I would go back. However, if I'm going to eat fast food Chinese, I'd rather go to the place in Oak Court Mall. read more

Okay, I have tried at least 6 entrees here and I have come to the conclusion that only the breaded ones are good. So, if you fear breading and calories and all the stuff that makes food actually tasty....you will want to skip this place. Because ALL of the non-breaded items are gross. I have tried about 6 chicken dishes and they all tasted EXACTLY the same and it is not a pleasant taste. The chicken is VERY brown also. If you are looking for white chicken, you will not locate any here. Also, the mixed vegetables as a side are terrible. How can mixed vegetables be bad? I love vegetables but these had a faint residue of butt or something. It was just foul. But now on to the good part....the breaded dishes are really pretty good if you don't mind having about 4000 calories for lunch. The sweet fire chicken is really tasty. Good in a my arteries are gonna collapse before I finish this last bite sort of way. Its junk food, nothing "good" about it but it really does have a good flavor that I actually crave. Same thing with the walnut shrimp. Just the kind of flavor a junk food junkie craves. I like the orange chicken, too. Sweet and breaded is the way to go at Panda Express. The fried rice is actually pretty good, too. It kind of reminds me of Benihana actually. Or maybe I just got it on a good day. I usually get white rice. Learned my lesson with the mixed butt veggies here. I just like the convenience of the drive thru. I hate going in places and I can go here in my jammies if I want. That is a selling feature for me. It may not be the best chinese food around but it will get you a chinese fix without even having to comb your hair. That makes it a winner in my book. read more

I'm not typically one to complain and I usually love Panda Express, but this one really needs work. I've been there three times and every time they were either out of must things in the menu and what we did order was burned badly. The drive through staff are particularly rude and one day they only accept cash, next day they only accept cards. I won't be back to this one. read more

Don't go to this location. Been there a few times, service IS friendly, but they tend to run out of items or be slow on delivery. Best thing on the menu is that Grilled Teriyaki Chicken.It's pretty good. Also it seems to be laced with drugs or something, because its really popular and they run out of it often. Last two visits put me off completely from this location.. Last week, they gave my to-go order to car in front of me, then told me it be 12-14 minutes before I could get it my order replaced. Nope. Today, they were simply out of the only things I was there for. Couldn't get out of the drive-thru, waited 15 minutes just to drive off. I dunno how you don't prep enough for popular items for Dinner rush, but they didn't. Either way, I've had enough. Other locations have better reviews. and Its not like I've had bad meals there, just mediocre other than the Chicken. If you like Panda express, just go to the one on Winchester or in C'ville. Three weeks ago they opened a Panda Express in Memphis. It's the first one in Memphis, and it also happens to be just around the corner from me. I decided to stop by for a visit on my lunch break last week. It was packed inside but the drive thru line was short so I pulled in. The menu was pretty poorly positioned. I could only see a portion of what was offered, and several signs were missing from the standing menu, so I had no idea what I was going to order. Until I set my sights on the Honey Walnut Shrimp. It had three things I love in it right there in the name. I decided to order the bowl, because it came with the entrée and one side. I ordered my side (pot stickers) and was promptly informed by the very polite (that is not sarcasm, she really was nice) window attendant that what I wanted wasn't a side, it was an add on. It was just mistaken labeled as a side. The sides, by the way, were conveniently on one of the missing signs from the menu. The attendant gave me the list and I ordered steamed rice. I paid and went on my way. When I got back to the office to eat my wonderful meal I opened the bag to find that I had been given a bowl of rice with a side of the shrimp. The portion size wasn't worth the price. To be fair, the window attendant was extremely helpful and the food was very good. But it still wasn't worth what I paid for it, having to struggle with a menu that was half complete, and sitting in the drive through for 15 minutes. I know what you're thinking, that the dine in experience might have been different. But if the portion size is bigger for dine in customers, does that mean restaurants are exhibiting discriminatory behaviors to those of us who chose to dine out? I hope not. And the end result of my visit? I'll go to the more traditional Americanized Chinese restaurants for my honeyed shrimp fix. read more

Panda Express offers some good quality and fresh foods. Every chain or branch is different based on the manager an employees. Some people give you huge portions some give you healthy portions. We are so used to stuff Chinese plates and when it's anything other than that, then there is a problem. I sometimes can get really upset or greedy when my plate isn't overflowing with food. But I do notice that whatever portion they give it does do the job. That's why us American are so overweight because they know we are greedy but here we go: The portions were small but I was full when finished. The good was fresh and some trays were low or empty. The noodles and rice were delicious and cooked well. The orange chicken and teriyaki was awesome like always. The sweet tea is so delicious and the customer service was great! They took care of us and I don't see what the problem is. With every restaurant you know rush hour is packed so I can't fault them for that. We came around dinner time. No line. We had a good time at this restaurant and I will be back when I'm in the area and craving this. Everyone's experience is different and I was afraid to go based off the reviews but I'm glad I went anyway! 5 stars just because it wasn't what people said it would be on my visit!!!!! read more

I have eaten here several times. Not the best fast food Chinese I've had, but not the worst either. However, this evening I had a horrible experience that makes it worth a 1 star rating. If you pay for a MEAL, you expect to get a MEAL. I went through the drive-thru and ordered the Kung Pao Chicken, as always. When I got home and opened my styrofoam box of food, the large section contained a heap of rice, but there was only TWO TABLESPOONS of the Kung Pao Chicken that barely filled up ONE tiny compartment in the styrofoam box. I was so disappointed. Knowing that this CAN'T be right (I've had this same meal several times from this place), I shoved the box back into the plastic bag and headed back over the Panda Express to get the other half of my ONE order of Kung Pao Chicken. The young man working the register was absolutely NO help and told me, "You see those small scoops over there?" (pointing to the tiny spoons in the buffet-style food). "When you order ONE entree, you get ONE scoop." I told him that I've eaten here plenty of times and have never had this small amount of food. He argued with me and told me that I was wrong. At this point, I was furious but realized it was fruitless to continue talking to this young guy who obviously doesn't understand that TWO TABLESPOONS can't possibly be an entree. I left the store, half an entree in hand. I counted the number of bites it took to finish the meal (including rice with each bite!). FIVE BITES. FIVE bites, people! For the third time in as many weeks, this particular restaurant has run out of items. First it was brown rice and mixed vegetables. The next week it was mixed vegetables again. And then today the only sides available were white and fried rice. Went through the drive through at around 7. Had to wait around 20 minutes to order which is par for the course. I get to the machine and it tells me that they are closed despite the person in front of me who arrived at the same time getting their food. When I get to the window I questioned the worker what time they told me they close at 9 but the machine starts saying they are closed at 7. I was then told I couldn't order at the window because there was a line, the same line that I sat in for over 20 minutes. I think it is completely understandable to have to wait for fresh food to be made when it is extremely busy but once you get your food and they forget your sweet-and-sour sauce and you go back in for it and then they tell you 10 minutes to wait for sweet-and-sour sauce I think is unacceptable when you asked for it when you placed the order. read more

There was one car in front of us on the most recent visit and after 3 or 4 minutes of sitting, I got out an asked the lady in front if she had ordered. When she said no, I knocked on the speaker box to get someone's attention--finally someone answered with the computer excuse and took her order. When WE finally arrived at the window to receive a our very minimal order 15 minutes later, the attendant stated that they were busy serving indoor customers yet, when we rounded the drive to leave, there were only three customers who were already eating! They always close earlier than listed. I hate when businesses do that. Generally because the workers try to leave early. I like Panda Express and rushed to make it after work. Pretty good food for a fast food restaurant. I never really tried this place because I thought it was going to be a typical Chinese food.
