5-8-22 The food is over priced tasteless crap. I had the lomein noodles which had no taste and the noodles were not cooked enough. I also had the fried rice and that was tasteless as well. The only good thing was the broccoli as it had a some what pleasant taste with garlic. I had to put several packets of soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce on my food to at least give it some taste. I got the Plate for $8.60 + the soda. I told the people cooking the food that the food was tasteless but they did nothing about it. The only person that helped was the young man taking the order. The soda machine root beer does not work and the Cherry Coke was very diluted. The whole time I was here the machine was not fixed. I will spread the word about this place to avoid at all costs. People reading this skip this place and go to Big Panda Express on McKinley in Mishawaka, IN or any other place that serves Chinese food. I went to panda with my friends. We were all excited to try the new steak and shrimp dish that has been heavily advertised showing an even proportion of steak and shrimp. When I received my meal, (orange chicken and steak/ shrimp) I was disappointed to see no shrimp in my dish. I received zero shrimp, and my friends each had one shrimp each. I was let down in my dish that was overwhelmed by potatoes and it's lack of shrimp. Attached is a picture of my meal lacking my shrimp. I was deeply troubled that I was charged extra for this entree when it lacked what I ordered. This was false advertising and I came out unsatisfied. I am writing to escalate concerns about the discriminatory treatment of my fiancé who is also a local fireman. My fiancé endured one of the most degrading experiences at this Panda Express on March 2 between 6:30-7:00pm What should have been a quick dinner pickup turned into a 30-minute ordeal filled with microaggressions and outright hostility. I placed the order at 6:15 and it said it will be ready at 6:30pm. He arrived on time and was ignored. He finally speaks with someone and they told him they didn't see the order and that they were starting it now. He sees multiple people walk in after him and get their food and leave within 5mins. He simply asked for an update on the order. Male staff member refused to check order status and instead told him "leave his store". Why would he leave the store without the food that was prepaid? Update in response to the rep from Panda Express: Was in the parking lot of the Meijer tonight and drove by the Panda...it clearly still had a leak and the little orange "Warning" triangle was visible from outside, so apparently they didn't fix it, LOL. Some assurance from the owner - clearly their business practices are similar to their roof, leaky and don't hold up for ishhhhhh. Well, this was a pretty terrible Panda experience. What a dump - located in the Meijer parking lot with a line around the building, maybe there just aren't better options nearby? Either way, I went in and got my usual order - first thing I noticed out of place was the water all over the floor? I look up and realize the roof is leaking about 3 feet from the sneeze guard covering the rice and chow mein. Well, that makes me feel like this is a super clean establishment. I get my food and sit down, go figure there isn't a clean table anywhere. I sit down at the cleanest of them where there's a used toothpick...great. I hate adding fuel to the negative fire, but unfortunately my second experience here was no better than my first. My first experience was so awful, I didn't leave a review. I waited over 30 minutes in the drive-through line and was unable to pull out of it because of the way it is set up. It's was frustrating. I decided to give it another try over a lunch hour this time, while the wait wasn't as long it was still pretty long for anybody just on a lunch break. I wouldn't consider it fast food. The lines inside looked just as long. After getting food and leaving, realized there was only 1 Rangoon when there should have been 3. Kind of a weird thing to miss, but I didn't have the energy or the time to go back and wait in line again. It wasn't a biggie, it's like $2, but when you purchase for 3 to try, 2 of those those kids aren't so thrilled. Also, the Chow Mein was extremely dry. I know that seems like going through my reviews that I am a huge "Karen", but I'm not at all. My poor reviews speak volumes about the terrible customer service/employees these days. I am very observant and I can honestly say that 97 percent of these establishments and their employees just do NOT care about the customer! Here's an example; We went into Panda a little over a month ago and we had an elderly man helping us out, bless his soul. This man put very very small portions into our boxes, but he could hardly hold onto the containers as he almost dropped them, so my husband asked the black lady working if I could get just a little more rice in my box and she got mad, slammed a half a spoon full in my box and instead of helping the elderly man, decided standing there talking was the better option. And sorry to describe the lady as black, but she had no name tag on, at least I didn't see one, so how else could I describe her? I mean, she had black hair and a uniform on, but ‍...I know these days you have to be careful what you say because everyone is a Nancy and gets offended by the most ridiculous things, but if you described me as being white and fat I wouldn't get mad, because I AM! Anyway, the elderly man took a total of 11 minutes to complete our order, but we were patient because my heart went out to him. It's a sad day when our elderly cannot enjoy their retirement and have to go work at 11 dollar an hour jobs to supplement their incomes, so they can eat! Anyway again, I don't know if this particular Panda is ageist or what, but not one employee helped this man and the restaurant was not busy at all! So, after waiting 11 minutes patiently, we got our (equivalent to the size of their bowls and not the two plates we ordered) measly meals and went to find somewhere to sit. All the tables were dirty, so I cleaned a table off so we could eat. What has happened to customer service and this thing called TEAM WORK?? Businesses are so desperate to find employees, but most employees do not care about their jobs or the establishments they work for and certainly couldn't care less about the customers, yet when we complain, we are "Ken's" and "Karen's?" So, I guess we are supposed to just suck up getting treated like annoyances and getting much less than we pay for. I used to manage a family restaurant and I was a server there as well for many years and I would have never treated my guests the way these employees today treat them! They used to have really awesome mushroom fried rice years ago, but it tasted really great and I liked it...someone at corporate found out and they promptly removed it from the menu. Occasionally I will be traveling on the toll road or someplace, and just need something to fill the void and -believe it or not- Panda Express is the best option- rare but it happens. I have been back and the last trip in was super the staff was friendly and food was good. Tried to place an order for our work lunch via phone and was told they don't take orders over the phone and couldn't help me. I had to order online and they hung up. Had the runner picking up the food not been on the road already we may have been able to change plans. We did printout a neat order in excel and sent our co-worker a photo of the order and they placed the order for us. All containers were labeled with names and put together perfectly. I've gone to this location several times and most trips have been pretty uneventful. The drive thru always takes forever. But that's pretty much everywhere in Mishawaka. So I was surprised to see all the poor reviews. However, on my last trip, my food did not taste right. The orange chicken literally tasted like plastic. It was not right. I called in to let them know. Maybe a spoon might have been melted in the pan? I didn't want anyone else to ingest plastic tasting chicken. Instead of putting me on hold, I could hear the girl in the background shout that dishes hadn't been done all day. It was 6pm. When I explained that the chicken tasted like plastic, she seemed pretty unphased. She said no one else complained and that she guessed I could come back for new chicken. One person was waiting for an entree that wasn't made and 4 groups waited watching our food get cold untill the entree showed up and a scoop was put on the plate. The register sat unused for 5 minutes while we are just waiting to pay. They had 4 people working the front line with two just standing around due to the back up. They LOOKED like they were open! I tried the door and it was locked, there was also two other people right behind me who also wanted to get food. An employee came to the door and said "We're closed", I asked if the drive thru was open, she said "Yes, the drive thru is open until 9:30". I got back in my car, it was now about 9:20 pm. I pull into the drive-thru line and there are about 5 cars ahead of me. Blood pressure starting to rise. 5 minutes later and NONE of the cars have moved an inch! 10 minutes later and NONE of the cars have moved an inch! 15 minutes later and FINALLY a couple cars pull forward. When she appears, I explain what my experience has been here at Panda Express. She says "Well, we close at 9:30" I understand that, but I have been in the line WAITING since 9:20! She says "Well the customer ahead of you ordered something that we had to make special, that's why it took so long for the line to move." So, you made him what he wanted, but because I had the misfortune of being 2 cars behind him you WON'T MAKE ME WHAT I WANT???!!!
