Panda Express typically has consistently good, quick Chinese food. This location typically lives up to the same quality as other locations but fails miserably when it comes to speed. Combine that will still locking people out of the dining room (I guess COVID is still only a thing here) and it makes for an experience I'd highly recommend avoiding. It's a chain restaurant, so you kinda know what to expect going in. I have had some issues with other Panda locations during Covid and this was my first time back in about 8 or 9 months. However, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the food quality and quality of service. The line was a little slower than typical (pre-Covid) but I was so happy with the taste, temp, and availability of what I wanted that I was willing to overlook the line speed. Unlike literally every other Panda Express in our corner of the state, this one will not let you sample new items... the food that we did get was pretty good though. There was a regular customer, a Cane's employee... he came to get food, then conversed with a Panda employee. Dude was yelling to the employee, they seemed to be friends, but the employee didn't ask him to chilll and not be soo loud. Me and my mom went to Panda Express, My mom did not want to go inside so we went to the drive through and this young lady said something very disrespectful to mother. My mom added a water bottle to the order but the young lady had an attitude and said the total is still 9.53 (which was the total when we added the water bottle). If you don't have time to cook or in mood for fast casual Asian/American food. This is your place. I'm happy they have one in the area but kinda of a drive for me tho. But if you are in the area, well worth it. They well know for their famous orange chicken. Or at least what people tell me. I have tried it here and a must if you don't know what to get. Freshly made food and hot. It doesn't taste like it's been there for a long time. It is not a big place to dine-in but if you have a large party. You can definitely take-out or they have drive-thru. They offer both tables and booths seating. Recommend the tables with chairs since they have padding. Bench seats look comfortable but not padding on them. And they have few beach seating. The rest are tables or community seating. Unfortunately they don't have sweet tea on tap but do have bottles tho and other bottled drinks. Only thing on tap is sodas, so I opted for Barq's root beer and Dr. Pepper. Ordered the lo mein noodles since they just brought it out. (Have fried and steam white rice), orange chicken, Beijing beef, and walnut shrimp. Both are excellent! Free WiFi and super friendly staff. A must you are in the area and craving Asian type of food. Understand it is not authentic Asian food but close you are going to get fast casual food on the go. Chopsticks offered if you are up to the challenge. Otherwise they have plastic forks too. When your wanting quick and fast Chinese food but still pretty darn good this is a good place to come! My favorite menu item is the sweet fire chicken breast, you get that sweet, but not overpowering sweetness with peppers ( it say's spicy on it, but I'm not one for SPICE and this one is not spicy), it's delicious & It's the best served with white rice! Yum! If they are out of that one my next choice would have to be honey chicken breast, I want to try the Black pepper chicken eventually! Whatever you do though don't get the "Crispy Almond chicken breast "! It's nasty, I was very disappointed with this one! You can never go wrong with pairing it with white rice! read more

When Panda Express was being built here people were soooo excited. I had never eaten at a Panda Express so I kind of started to get excited too. They kept saying, "it's cheap Chinese fast food and its good!!!". Yeah. They were full of crap. It is not good. Not good at all. I went once and it wasn't good. It was bad. My last three experiences at Panda Express in Slidell Louisiana has been awful. The first time there was nothing but onions in the chow mein. I figured it was probably the bottom of the serving Wok and I let it go. The second time I went it was extremely dry and again most white onions. Tonight I went and it has so many raw onions in it that my entire car was smelling nothing but raw onions. When I opened up the container you couldn't even see any noodles there were so many onions. At first while ordering they did not have honey sesame chicken which was completely understandable but then they did not have soy sauce which left me puzzled because what Chinese restaurant does not have soy sauce? My dad had ordered the orange chicken and it had many chewy parts and it included a long blonde/gray hair which made him choke and gag, my family has brunette hair. We will NEVER be eating in Slidell again because of how bad this overall service was. read more

4th complaint in a few months. Each time is either lacking the food you order, out of the food you want or poor customer service. Don't go to Panda if you are within 1-2 hours till closing. They shut down the kitchen and anyone in drive-thru your choices are whatever is left before down the drain. last night 3/23/21 at 8:15 (they close at 9pm). 4 items I wanted out. I asked if they can make fresh and I will be glad to wait - nope. I have never been so disrespected in my life. It's a long story... I recently moved into a new office and it's been taking me sometime to get the office situated how I like it. So, I left the office, calling my mother who stated she hadn't eaten today so I ordered her supper and was given a time to pick it up. My husband and I decided on Panda instead. I went to Slidells Panda Express and went in the drive thru since I was in a hurry. The girl tells me one of the things I chose was delayed for about 8-10 min so I said no, I'm in a hurry and chose something else. I drive up to the window and after I paid she tells me to drive around to the front and park and as soon as it's ready she will bring it out to me. I asked her what was the delay and she said she was plating it now, so I drove to the front and parked..and waited. After about 10 min, I walked inside with my receipt and asked the manager how much longer, what was the delay. She says it's the teriyaki chicken, it's almost ready. I said no, I need a refund, I can't wait. The manager says she will have to call her manager before she can do that and disappears with her cell phone. Approximately 10 min later she comes to the register and tells me this is the last time she can give me a refund, that since I like to get refunds from them, I must not like their food so don't come back! I said wait what? I haven't even received my food yet and I can't wait...what are you talking about? She then proceeded to verbally abuse me, interrupting me when I was just trying to figure what was going on and she called another worker over to the register, I guess to witness the refund. This guy, Terry then joins in the melee. I told the manager I don't care what you write on it but I want my receipt back and with a smirk she says oh you can have a back, do you want me to give you the customer care number? I told her she was a horrible manager and Terry began telling me to leave also. As I'm walking to the door Terry continued to act up ... go, leave, we don't want you here.... I was so ANGRY, I immediately called corporate and reported Liz the Slidell manager and her sidekick Terry for verbally abusing me and the unprofessional behavior. I guess ill have to wait and see whats done...Btw, the reason I asked for a refund during another visit was because I found metal shavings in my chicken! I was staying at a motel in Slidell and passed by the Panda Express several times. I had never tried it before now, so I wanted to give it a shot. No. I decided to get a panda bowl. I ordered the Mandarin Chicken which was a huge mistake. It was extremely grisly and had tons of fat, more fat than actual meat. I ended up throwing away half of the chicken. I got the chow mein as my side, and it was mediocre. It was very oily, and didn't have a great flavor. I know I should have known better because it's fast food, but for 5 bucks and some change, I expected a little bit more. :/ read more

I have to say that my experience at Panda has been quite different than the others commenting here, although they are from quite a while back. About 2 years or so ago they completely changed staff and management of the location. I regular (2 to 3 times a week) stop in on the way home. You really cannot go wrong with any of the choices, but I really like the Orange Chicken with Bacon; however, it only available at certain times of the year. I like the Black Pepper Chicken as well, and it is my other go-to choice. The food is always fresh and if there is none of what you want out; they can prepare it in only a few minutes, and the quantity of what you get for the price is very good. The staff is very friendly and accommodating to your needs. Keep in mind that like almost all Chinese places in the U.S., this is American style Chinese food, not like what you will find in Chengdu, Dazhai, or even Beijing. If you have not stopped in lately I recommend that you give it a try. read more
