My boyfriend and I decided to come here for dinner tonight, he told me how he used to come here all the time when he was younger and how amazing it was but this time was nothing of the sort. Walked in and nobody working to be found, no one greeted us until 5-10 minutes upon arriving. The booth we sat at was sticky and the cushions were torn up. When the waitress finally greeted us she was so monotone and didn't want to be there. My food came out in reasonable time but my boyfriend was still waiting on his food 15 minutes later (mind you all he got was chicken and rice) which would be fine if they were to tell us it would take longer or they were short staff but she did not check up on us once. This place is lots of fun. It is certainly not what I would call authentic, traditional, raw fish sushi although they have traditional sushi/sashimi on the menu. I love that stuff, and generally prefer it over the fusion-type sushi rolls, but that isn't why I come here. The rolls here are fabulous! They have a wonderful variety. They are a little pricey, but no good sushi is cheap. The VIP roll is outstanding. You can get it baked or cold, but the baked version is over the top. Definitely something you can't get just anywhere. The rock n' roll concept is fun. Sometimes the music is loud and it's difficult to carry on a conversation. I have never been there when it was busy. Oh my dear gosh. I must've ordered the only four things good on the menu, according to the poor reviews. Just maybe I should buy a lotto ticket. First off, the Jailhouse Roll - perfection. The crawfish tails on top with their spicy mayo, the tempura topping...man oh man. Then I dove into the headbanger shrimp appetizer with the chili mayo sauce. Great again. The crab Rangoon wontons were a little weak, and weird (the green pepper and green onion as well as the flat chicken patty-like consistency) but still tasty due to their spicy mayo. And the jalapeño poppers are on another level. The prices DID go up, so I posted a new menu for you all. The takeout procedure was effortless. When I walked in, they had a live Guns N Roses show playing on TV. My guess was '92-'93. Major win. If this is bad sushi for slidell, I'll definitely have to try the other places. Where I'm from originally (South Dakota), this place would put them all out of business. Tonight, these menu items AND an Abita Alpha Gator at home with my feet up with the window open are the quintessential reason I moved down here - good food, good beer, good weather. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and the Appetizer Sampler. I received Hibachi Rice with some small pieces of chicken in it. The waitress came and asked if everything was okay with my rice and I explained that I ordered Fried Rice but it appeared I received Hibachi Rice. She said, "Yeah, we didn't have any vegetables. Sorry about that." Okay that would have been nice to know so I could've possibly ordered something different. Next the appetizer sampler was mostly all overcooked/ borderline burnt except the cream cheese wonton so I saved it for last. I take a bite out of the last cream cheese wonton and there is Saran Wrap sticking out of the middle of it. The waitress and manager gave a discount on my meal due to the Saran Wrap (without me asking), which I appreciated. I still tipped the waitress over 25% of the value I ordered (it wasn't her fault), but when I checked my statement, they had charged me double what was signed on my receipt. This is petty, but having been to other Rock N Roll Sushi restaurants, I expected guitars on the walls and it to feel more rock n roll. Needless to say, I'll never return to this location. It is poorly operated and I would make sure to check your receipt and statement are accurate after leaving. read more

Ordered ahead and picked up a roll to-go, which was slightly more complicated than expected. I picked a roll from the online menu, but it turns out the rolls' names differ between the online menu and the in-store menu. I couldn't remember the description of my roll and was in the process of trying to look it up again when the staff member on the phone found out the equivalent name from another staff member. I mean, I did get the right roll in the end, and it didn't take that long to straighten out, but that's still a pretty sad goof. I've recently had a run of bad sushi, so maybe my bar was set low, but I thought the roll I got was good. The rolls retained their shape, the knife work wasn't blatantly off, and none of the components were seemed discolored/old/potentially bad. The rice was a good texture, and a particular roll I ordered had both a nice bit of heat and a nice bit of crunch. I would order here again, but hopefully if/when I do they'll have the name thing worked out. read more

I give them a 3 When we got there it said wait to be seated, but no one acknowledged us and when they did they said you can sit anywhere. Service was JUST OK. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good, it was Just Ok... The food was ok...it needed the yum yum sauce to really give it flavor. We ordered the hibachi...but once again just ok The restaurant was clean and it had a true Rock and Roll vibe. We loved the menu's, they were old album covers. Went to rock 'n' roll sushi last night and we had such a good time. We're going back again tonight.. we had an amazing server named Azriel who also made our drinks. He definitely should be the bartender lol the menu is extensive and I can't wait to try something new. The fried rice was the best I've had anywhere. We also had a spicy shrimp appetizer that was to die for the fried chicken appetizer was a little bit more done than I like it, but the staff were so accommodating. I ordered the Green Day Roll and Japanese Roll. The Green Day Roll was a huge disappointment. First of all, the Roll was $15. When I pay $15 for an entree and an additional amount to add mixed greens I expect more than a baby's fist full of food. Second, as I have tried to eat each roll they subsequently fall to pieces due to, I assume, copious amounts of ponzu sauce. My advice to whomever reads this review and is thinking about visiting this restaurant, I would advice you to do so. The inside is of the establishment is amazingly decorated. Two of our good friends swear by this place and we always wondered why they would drive all the way out to Slidell just for sushi and now we know! The sushi tasted fresh and the rolls were great! Although majority of them had shrimp tempura in them, which I don't eat. They need more variety with that. The Crispy Wontons were very unique since they were tempura fried and very good! Granted, I personally wouldn't drive to Slidell with so many great places in New Orleans, but if I'm in the area then I would stop here! read more

The server Sarah and dylon on sushi as well as the other guy on sushi (can't remember his name ) were AMAZING Sarah was super timely bringing our food was super nice and friendly and dylon and the other sushi staff member were great super funny!!! I didn't have cash to tip dylon and his coworker so I asked for his venmo and he let me I couldn't go without tipping them! The thriller roll was absolutely delicious as a first time sushi eater. I was honestly hesitant to try this place out because I was expecting it to be expensive but it wasn't!!!
