Philly cheesesteak sliders, onion rings and wings

Yallll! Love this little spot right on the water! I was a first timer, but This is my friends regular spot. She kept bragging about the chicken wings so I figured I'd give it a try! I ended up getting the Philly cheesesteak sliders and the onion rings. She got the wings. Everything was so delicious, so flavorful so fresh! Service was great!! Everyone that worked there was so nice and we even met the owner! We sat outside which overlooked a neighborhood on the water. The outside area even had a little stage which was the cutest thing. This is def a gem! I can't wait to come back and try more food! Highly recommend!

The 20oz ribeye served. Unfortunately it was already dark and we were sitting on the back deck so the picture came out dark.

Went to the landing for a 2nd time. We decided to arrive there by 430pm,the place was already starting to fill up when we got there. This time it took 30 min to get our food vs. last week's over an hour wait for our food. Again the ribeye weighed a good 20oz and was well seasoned, the loaded baked potato was huge. To my surprise wifi is available, you'll have to ask staff for the PW. Smoking is allowed outside on back patio. Definetly will go back again for the Wednesday night steak night. You can't beat the price... $21. I'm raising my rating of The Landing to 4 stars as the wait was so much shorter this time around. Unfortunately I personally won't give The Landing a 5 star rating due to the fact it not being family friendly (must be 21 to enter) and payment is in cash only.

Driving home from a weekend camping, we hit up Yelp to find a new spot along the water. Let me just say that without Yelp I'd of never found this place. I tried to look up the menu via Google and the website isn't active and/or doesn't work so I had to rely on Yelp photos to know what they served. It is a ways off the highway so without knowing of it, you won't drive past. I also saw The Landing sign but the front doesn't look like a restaurant. It could use a facelift or perhaps a brighter color to give it a water front vibe. Walking in it definitely gives a dive bar feel. We wanted a beach restaurant not a bar but it got better walking out back. On their deck, it's so nice and relaxing! You can watch the boats go by and feel the breeze. If they had TV's out there I'd totally visit for game days. They even have a tiki style bar outside. You can pull up your boat and dock for some food. Now.... The food wasn't anything to write about but it wasn't bad. We had chili nachos and Philly cheesesteak sliders with fries. The nachos were very plain. Tasted like canned chili and definitely cheese you might eat when cleaning out the cabinets during a hurricane (LOL). If they used better ingredients it would be awesome because it was a good size. The cheesesteak sliders were not bad but we're swimming in grease on the plate. The brioche rolls they were on was the best part. The outdoor, colorful atmosphere makes the place but the food not so much and they're cash only. If they were to have a website, posting updated things or a nice social media platform they'd definitely generate more business and be able to cover the credit card fee and up their food game.

If you are in the area this is one not to miss. Live music and the food was the best we had in our trip throughout New Orleans and Slidell. The open patio on the water was beautiful and the people were extremely friendly. I will be back for steak night!!

Blue cheese burger to die for.

My favorite place in town to sit outside. I can go by boat with my wife and dog. Cheapest drinks in town. Love Owner Mary. Great burgers, wings, and steaks. Fun for poker runs and parties.

The value for the state night is great but to me personally the stakes need to be seasoned. Mine was quite tough and not much flavor.

The room smelled musty and the AC didn't work well, but we were only in the room to sleep so it was just ok. The breakfast is the worst I've ever experienced at a Holiday Inn. Coffee was cold, we warmed it in the microwave. All the hot items were empty and it was NOT busy either day mid breakfast times when we came down. I paid extra for breakfast, I could have saved the money and gotten a better breakfast at the McDonalds that's a minute away. The indoor pool, the reason I booked this hotel, looked cloudy and almost like a pond in color. They had renovation materials from outside the pool area piled on the deck. No sign saying the pool was closed, and the staff at the desk appeared to think it was open and fine. I have a very disappointed child who has been looking forward to swimming. I wouldn't let my dog swim in that water. I've seen cleaner lake water. The front desk people were fine, but seemed powerless to get the breakfast person to get anything ready (same person doing breakfast both days). I stay in IHG properties often and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had.

Stay elsewhere - there are better choices nearby…read more My son and I stayed at this Holiday Inn for two nights over New Year's to attend the Sugar Bowl. We chose this location as a budget-conscious alternative to downtown New Orleans hotels ($157/night vs $400+), accepting the 30-minute drive on I-10. While the beds and pillows were comfortable and we slept well, nearly every other aspect of our stay fell short of Holiday Inn standards. Check-in Issues: Despite clearly being two adults, we received only one room key. When I requested a second key, the desk clerk said they were short on keys and resisted until I explained we'd have different schedules. Building Access Problems: The end entrance doors near parking areas don't function with the newer proximity room keys - they require older swipe-style keys that guests aren't provided. This forces everyone to walk to the main lobby entrance to re-enter the building, regardless of where you've parked or where your room is located. Room Condition (2nd Floor): Multiple maintenance issues greeted us. The desk lamp outlet didn't work, making it impossible to charge phones where you'd actually use them. A USB/outlet panel existed near the closet but was impractically located. The bathroom door didn't fit its frame and wouldn't close properly. We found a dirty washcloth left in the shower, and the lounge chair was missing its back cushion. Breakfast (Paid Extra): This was the worst hotel breakfast I've encountered. The pancake maker wasn't turned on. The juice dispenser was covered in fruit flies and looked rarely cleaned. There were no forks available--I had to request them at the front desk, where a maintenance worker retrieved half a box from the kitchen, handed me one fork, and started to put the rest back. Only after I pointed out other guests needed them did he refill the container. The scrambled eggs were mostly brown. Coffee is made at 4:30 AM and 7:00 AM only - when it runs out, that's it. Bar-height counter outlets and USB ports didn't function. The entire area appeared infrequently cleaned, with no attendant maintaining it. Housekeeping: After our first night out (we left around 10 AM for the game), we returned to find our room uncleaned. When I requested fresh towels, only washcloths and bath towels were available--no hand towels. The desk attendant responded by accusing me of leaving out a "Do Not Disturb" sign, which I had not. Staff: While generally polite, staff seemed indifferent to guest concerns and focused more on explaining why things weren't working rather than resolving issues. The laundry facilities appeared clean and functional. If you're looking for an economical option for a Superdome event and can tolerate significant inconveniences, this property saves money. However, the lack of basic maintenance, cleanliness, and guest services made this a stay I wouldn't repeat. If you're loyal to IHG brands, the nearby Holiday Inn Express may be a better choice.

We initially were going to a sports bar across the street when Whiskey and Ashe caught our eye. What a great find and experience. Spoiler alert I like cigars and bourbon and Whiskey and Ashe exceeded my expectations. They have a wall of bourbon and rye plus and additional spirits and beer for non-brown liquor drinkers. since we were the only ones in the bar our bartender took excellent care of us. We had many samples and the local Louisiana Seven Three Distillery rye was one of my favorites. If you want a smoke they have a fully stocked humidor and cigar specials. There is a very comfortable outside area with TVs. We all agreed that if Whiskey and Ashe were in our area, we would live here! Since we were ride sharing we spent the afternoon here, ordered food from next door and shared it with our bartender/bourbon guide. Plus one is now a bourbon drinker (sort of) as she was introduced to a bourbon espresso martini. Wow, it was delicious.! Our bartender, Griffin, was young but so knowledgeable and he expertly guided us through our tastings. Pro tip: If Griffin your bartender tell him the folks from Austin said he needs to tell you his apple joke.
