Don't let this place fool you when you walk up. It does look like a dive bar, but once you walk through the door you feel at home. You have to give it try on a Wednesday - steak night. Amazing!! The steaks are huge and come with either garlic mashed or baked potato. Steak, potato, salad and a roll for $28. The steak is so ginormous, I ended up taking half my food home for the next day. We had a nice size margarita for only $8. Service was friendly. Can't wait to go back and try the wings. read more

CASH ONLY! I was very surprised that I couldn't open a bar tab here with a debit or credit card. It's very inconvenient not to provide that option plus it cost me $3 plus my bank fees to use their ATM. Be aware of this policy. Yallll! Love this little spot right on the water! I was a first timer, but This is my friends regular spot. She kept bragging about the chicken wings so I figured I'd give it a try! I ended up getting the Philly cheesesteak sliders and the onion rings. She got the wings. Everything was so delicious, so flavorful so fresh! Service was great!! Everyone that worked there was so nice and we even met the owner! We sat outside which overlooked a neighborhood on the water. The outside area even had a little stage which was the cutest thing. Went to the landing for a 2nd time. We decided to arrive there by 430pm,the place was already starting to fill up when we got there. This time it took 30 min to get our food vs. last week's over an hour wait for our food. Again the ribeye weighed a good 20oz and was well seasoned, the loaded baked potato was huge. To my surprise wifi is available, you'll have to ask staff for the PW. Smoking is allowed outside on back patio. Definetly will go back again for the Wednesday night steak night. You can't beat the price... $21. I'm raising my rating of The Landing to 4 stars as the wait was so much shorter this time around. Unfortunately I personally won't give The Landing a 5 star rating due to the fact it not being family friendly (must be 21 to enter) and payment is in cash only. read more

Cash only! Maps says they accept credit cards but when I went to pay my tab I was told cash only. There are two atm's across from the bar. Food was good. Had a BLT with Cajun fries. The Cajun fries were delicious. BLT was on point taste wise but I ordered extra bacon and the amount on my sandwich seemed average. Service was good overall. Not sure my receipt was right though. There were 4 items on the receipt when I only had 3 (entree with no plus ups and two cokes). Atmosphere is great. Very nautical bar with large patio on the water. Yes, I did try food at the Landing in Slidell, we all went on their steak night, Wednesdays, there were about eight in our party. Most of my party was there ahead of me as I had not cleared from work. Now, the cost of the dinners was twenty-five dollars. The size of the steak was worth the price. Because of the size, some in the group brought home leftovers in styrofoam containers. The only problem I had was with the loud waitress who served me as I asked her to lower her voice and not shout at me. The waitress seem to have difficulty in understanding that I needed to order another steak dinner for my wife. I would return again to eat on steak night but would not tolerate her boisterous voice. Someone in the group ordered the bread pudding, it was eight dollars and not with the price or taste, as it was swimming in rum sauce. read more

Great hole in the wall with yummy bar food and plenty of TV screens to watch your favorite sports! However, it's a smokers paradise so be forewarned, if the smell of cigarette smoke bothers you...pass it by or sit outside. On warm days I can see how nice it would be to be outdoors. It's located on one of the access canals to Lake Pontchartrain. My friends tell me in the warmer months they bar hop and this is one of the stops they frequent. Service is good, prices are reasonable and you can plan ahead and have your boating friends meet you for a beverage. Driving home from a weekend camping, we hit up Yelp to find a new spot along the water. Let me just say that without Yelp I'd of never found this place. I tried to look up the menu via Google and the website isn't active and/or doesn't work so I had to rely on Yelp photos to know what they served. It is a ways off the highway so without knowing of it, you won't drive past. I also saw The Landing sign but the front doesn't look like a restaurant. It could use a facelift or perhaps a brighter color to give it a water front vibe. Walking in it definitely gives a dive bar feel. We wanted a beach restaurant not a bar but it got better walking out back. On their deck, it's so nice and relaxing! You can watch the boats go by and feel the breeze. If they had TV's out there I'd totally visit for game days. They even have a tiki style bar outside. You can pull up your boat and dock for some food. Now.... The food wasn't anything to write about but it wasn't bad. We had chili nachos and Philly cheesesteak sliders with fries. The nachos were very plain. Tasted like canned chili and definitely cheese you might eat when cleaning out the cabinets during a hurricane (LOL). If they used better ingredients it would be awesome because it was a good size. The cheesesteak sliders were not bad but we're swimming in grease on the plate. The brioche rolls they were on was the best part. The outdoor, colorful atmosphere makes the place but the food not so much and they're cash only. If they were to have a website, posting updated things or a nice social media platform they'd definitely generate more business and be able to cover the credit card fee and up their food game. read more

This place is really close to an Airbnb that I'm renting for a couple of weeks, so I really wanted to love it. Went around 9 pm on a Tuesday. The place had about 10 people in there. I loved the nautical décor and the outdoor seating. The bartender was pleasant. The drinks were cheap. VERY nice bar on the water with a good selection of brew AND they have food that aint bad! I actually often come here to quench my thirst on Saturdays around noon. It's usually peaceful then. They have a nice selection of bottled beer and often they have one or two special brews on tap in addition to others like bud light and all that. I don't drink those. Their outside seating is just.... very nice and pleasant. This is a very pleasant place to come and grab a brew and hang out on the water. Very nice and pleasant. On the weekends and in the evening, they do draw an older crowd, but they often have talented live bands. This part of Slidell offers a very different night life than the Old Town section, so naturally, there will be two different crowds. At night, the lighting is just right and it's STILL pleasant to be on the water. ;) I've gotten food here too from time to time and it's good. They have cajun fries that are AWESOME. I've had their philly cheese steak sandwich and it was good, too. I admit, I don't often get food here because it is, first and foremost a bar, and usually, I'm just there for a drink. I think I will start getting a bit more to eat here, though. The bartenders usually come right up to you unless it's a really busy night, and they're friendly. If you have a boat, you can pull on up and dock, too, so that's good. The interior has a nice decor and ambiance and gives sort of a piratey feel; highly nautical, and that's alright by me. On busy days, you'll find this place bustling with activity and ALL SORTS of different people from different walks of life and all ages. On days like a poker run or some other attraction, even when they're crowded, it's still a nice place and the bartenders still manage to get your orders in a timely manner. On days like that, The Landing truly is a nice place to mingle with the people of Slidell and if you're not from Slidell, it doesn't matter, cuz anyone in here will still be glad to have you around anyway. read more

If I were single, and didn't have kids, this would've been a great place to get a few drinks and a burger or something else small. But, if you have kids (like I did), it's definitely not a place to go. The night we went, we saw no sign stating that it was only 21 and older allowed in. We walked right in, and stood there looking around to see if we were supposed to seat ourselves or what, for a few minutes. Finally, my husband went over to the bar to ask what we were supposed to do. She said to just seat ourselves. She clearly saw we had kids, but nothing was said. I said that we'd have to sit outside, because the cigarette smoke inside was just super thick. That should've been a big clue to me, I guess...lol. So, went out back. The deck is not bad, but there's not enough seating. There were people just packed in out there, without masks on. Finally, we went down to the dock on the water, and on the way back up, we saw a sign stating that you must be 21 to enter...! So, we left quickly. We had just assumed that it was a family place, because we couldn't find any info about it being a 21 and up bar anywhere online. read more

The value for the state night is great but to me personally the stakes need to be seasoned. Mine was quite tough and not much flavor.

This place is great!! Food and drinks are awesome. Be aware that if your from out of state that you may need to bring a passport with you. They have no way of looking up drivers license numbers or scan codes. It's not their fault but it can be a pain in the ass if you're closer to 30 than 20 and trying to argue how another state ID looks. Stopped by the Landing while on vacation as we wanted to sample a local watering hole. Boy were we surprised! The staff could not have been friendlier. Our little group were treated like we were regulars in every way. We were encouraged to come back for "steak night" on Wednesday. For $20 that steak was every bit as good as any steak I've had back home in Chicago for three or four times the price. Keep up the good work guys. Ehhh.... Just ok. We got a burger and chicken wings. Wings were ok. It took quite a while (40 minutes) to get them. The bartender told a guy, a bit after we ordered, that it would be an HOUR to get his wings. The fries were cold when we did finally get them. It's a smokey bar on a canal. There is an outdoor seating area that is pretty dated. We MIGHT give it a second chance BUT ONLY because of the outdoor area. Maybe it's better in the summer. Don't expect much from the food if you do go here. This whole area badly needs a decent place to eat on the water. read more
