Gave Small's a second try after a bad first experience and this time I was truly impressed. This is a prime example of the "do one thing but do it well" concept. Only things on the menu are the little slider burgers, waffle fries, and milkshakes. I didn't try a shake but the burgers and the fries were fabulous. The burgers were juicy and the buns were steamy and soft. The signature "smauce" adds a lot, don't leave it off. The waffle fries were "just right" crispy. The drive-thru line was organized and moved fairly quickly. They had employees with tablets in the line-up area taking orders in advance, so when I got to the window there was no wait to get my food. While visiting New Orleans I stopped at this restaurant for a quick lunch. The line was crazy long but the staff seemed patient and friendly. The burgers are fresh and not premade. The seasoned waffle fries are cooked perfectly. Honestly, the taste of the slider reminds me of a White Castle slider you would make at home. Not a bad rendition. The sauce tasted like a bottle of 1000 island dressing. The burgers don't have anything that makes me want to keep eating it. The fries I was hoping were good but not for me. The fries have some type of coating that took away from the taste. They were crunchy but no flavor. The service was quick we were in and out in 2 minutes. I was working nearby and when I searched for places nearby this jumped out because the other options I either have at home or have had elsewhere and don't care to have that again. But these little burgers and fries were perfect for lunch. My work trip had me here for a day then on to Mobile area. I have family in southern MS that I wanted to visit after I finish up on Thursday so I flew my wife in and picked her up at the New Orleans airport before heading towards Mobile. But I pulled in and we shared a 3 slider combo. I don't normally hit places like these 2 times in one day but I wanted her to try this place too. She loved it. If we had one of these in S Carolina I would eat there regularly. (As I went to post this review here I discovered there is one of these in Spartanburg SC, 30 miles from my house!!!) Fries are cooked thoroughly and are better than another chicken places waffle fries, which are regularly undercooked, IMHO. There's a nice outside seating area. There's also attentive crews on foot aiding drive through flow that make ordering a breeze. This place is straight forward. They do sliders, shakes, and fries at good prices. Though the burger was way bigger than I thought it'd be I'd recommend getting the biggie size which adds a patty. The burger is filling and tasty. The waffle fries are always hot. That shakes were rich. This place gives you great value for your buck. The only knock is the extremely limited burger menu. There's only on kind of slider, very few customization options, and they don't have onions. There's a grocery store within walking distance so I just grab one before I go home.
