Okay so I rarely leave reviews, like rarely, but this spot is truly a hidden gem. I picked up the lo mien with shrimp added as well as a spring roll & it was fresh, hot & amazing. The location is in the cut so that's the hidden side but going in, I immediately was met with beautiful decor & a friendly face at the counter. She was sweet & the establishment was super clean. Honestly I dont think Mobile has any "outstanding" Chinese take out. So when I give Panda Haven 3 stars that's respectable by Mobile standards IMO. Sometimes you just want some take out Chinese and PH fits the bill. Nothing is absolutely amazing but so far nothing has been absolutely horrible either. I like the Kung Pao chicken and the steamed dumplings. Can't go wrong with those two. read more

Food is always freshly cooked and good. The chicken wings however are usually a little overcooked, so be careful when ordering them.

This place is a joke they sell you high priced Chinese food with kids meal portions. I've ate Chinese food in all majors cities like New York, Chicago, and Detroit. Panda Haven's food is much worse than what's available at any number of popular chain restaurants, from the higher end to fast food (though I would much rather eat any dish at P.F. Chang's any day)! Every dish we tried turned us off from Chinese food for awhile. I've never seen so much batter coating meats. The only dish I swooned over was the hot & spicy soup. It was perfect! No. Didn't realize until after we ordered that the restaurant rating was 88%. The place looks shady and run down. Random stuff is stored on the benches so there are few seating options for customers who want to stay and eat. One table had a small aquarium that made me feel bad for the fishes since there was nothing but was a few pebbles in there. At that same table, the whole bench was coming off, so when you sat down, the other side raised completely up and slid. Food was ok. The sweet and sour chicken was good, though I feel nauseous now. The rice tasted like it was out of a box instead of freshly cooked. Even got a taste of something like chemicals so I spat it out. I got the combination platter with the sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and chicken tenders on the side. It looked like I didn't get the tenders, so I asked if I had got it. They gave me a to-go box. Nope. Asked again and the lady came out to show us that the two pieces on the side that looked exactly like the sweet and sour were the chicken tenders. Could not tell a difference so I took a pic and posted it here to see if anyone else can spot a difference. My mother got the shrimp and broccoli. The broccoli was good, but the egg roll was greasy with practically nothing in it. Rest was bleh. Will not be going here again. read more

Excellent place for takeout-style chinese. I think that everyone knows what kind of restaurant this is; one doesn't pick up the phone to order Chinese expecting food worthy of a Michelin star. For what it is, it's an excellent Chinese take-out place and my go-to for years. I can't talk this place up enough - really really great chinese food for an excellent price. Cook and people on the phone are really open to customized orders - if you like spicy food, be sure to ask for extra spicy for the extra umph! read more

The food was good except we did not get all of the egg rolls with our order and the ones we did get were lacking in filling...was mainly egg roll wrapper and the fried wontons were also lacking in flavor and slightly greasy. Panda Haven? Panda Hell is more like it! We have ordered from here for years and been well satisfied. Then... tonight. 7:30pm- Call in order. 8:30pm- No dinner. 8:40pm- I call them and inquire. Told driver is moments out. 9:00pm- I call again. Told to hold while they contact driver. Driver says he was delayed by customer not having correct change. Promised $5 off this meal and a free combo next time. 9:05pm- Dinner arrived, half cold, driver looking like he has been on a 3 day drunk who then gives me a completely different story than his boss. 9:15pm- Card has not been refunded. Time to find new and better Chinese. Panda Haven no longer cares. read more

I came by there ordered couple of dinner meals. The sweet sour pork have more flour than pork. The egg rolls was oily and flat with no pork in it. The texture of the rice was rough tasting like it was cheap kind of rice with no taste. The reason I am writing this review bc I am Chinese and I know what good Chinese food suppose to taste like. Have been ordering from here for years and they have always been consistent as far as my family is concerned. Hot fresh quality food every time. Service has always been great as well and fast. Awful. Ordered sweet and sour chicken and fried rice I don't really know how you can mess that up, but they definitely did. The chicken tasted old, and had so much batter on it that you couldn't find the chicken. Also the batter tasted like funnel cake batter. The rice was just like yellow steamed rice, no veggies or egg. I won't be going back. I had eaten here in the past and found it to be decent run of the mill Chinese food, but it's definitely not worth going back.
