This has been one of my favorite local restaurants to visit for appx 8 years, mostly due to not using MSG in their food. Admittedly though, it has been a while since I was in last. Their food was good for most part, but I definitely noticed some changes: the pork fried rice was a bit on the dry side & sadly, the hot & sour soup was mild- hot only by temperature & not sour at all. The sweet & sour chicken was good, with the breading being of light & crunchy texture with good flavor & the chicken within being all white chicken! I asked for a side of additional sauce, as the sauce on the chicken served flows to the bottom & is hard to get to for dipping. My Kung Pao included some chunks of fresh zucchini & good sized chunks of dark meat chicken along with just the right amount of large peanuts in a brown sauce, but too mild & lacking of spice (peppers type) heat. The fried shrimp was very good & I appreciated the allowed substitution. The complimentary tea was also greatly appreciated. There was plenty of food served, allowing for left overs. Service was excellent as is customary there! The ambiance is comfortable & hasn't changed thru the years of which I've been dining there. If a food item is listed as spicy on the menu, it should be as such in my opinion, therefore I'm really wanting to give 3.5 stars, as the food has become much more milder than what I've ever tasted before, sadly. read more

Ordered food and drove from Woodland to get it super excited for my food. Chow Mein, extra sauce, with assorted meats inside. What i got was soggy fat noddles that had no taste and a horrible texture piled at the bottom of the toppings. I went back in after wanting to eat some while in my car before leaving to enjoy it with my friend and grandmother to explain their mistake, and the first woman did not speak english and disappeared into the back. Out popped an irritated older woman whom I showed what I ordered on my phone and told her verbally, and she told me she gave me what I ordered. I showed her these are not Chow Mein noodles, and I don't understand how that could possibly be what I had ordered. It wasn't, she just didn't want to deal with it. She just disappeared into the back after telling me no refund and refusing to listen to my fair explanation. Had to go to safeway and make Chow Mein noodles myself, took 20 minutes just to find the box in the isles. Long story short, I'm never buying from here again and I suggest you don't either. My first lunch visit was questionable, but second lunch visit a week or two later was better. The first visit I ordered Szechuan Chicken, but it tasted like chicken pot pie - very bland with a thick chicken gravy with reheated, overcooked (frozen?) vegetables. The second visit I ordered the Broccoli Beef, which was much closer to expectations - on par (or only slightly below par) with an average Chinese restaurant, but I prefer what I make at home (vegetables aren't mushy and sauce doesn't taste canned). The Hot and Sour Soup is good, but different than the typical H&S soup served elsewhere - here it is neither spicy nor sour but is enjoyable if you ditch expectations. The Pork Fried Rice that comes with combination lunches is good - dark and tasty (very bland elsewhere around here). Service is efficient, kind, and attentive. Prices have increased as with everywhere else, but still reasonable for the hearty portion size and complimentary "extras" (hot tea, soup and egg roll and crab Rangoon in combination meals, chopsticks, table dining). This place is a top choice in the area for Chinese, but falls behind compared to Vancouver and beyond. I wouldn't reject returning, but I'm in no rush. read more

This place has a lot of bad reviews, but the food is honestly good and affordable. Waitress has always been extremely friendly, service is fast, hot food and huge portions. I believe they sometimes get confused with panda express and this may be some of the bad reviews about the food. read more

This was the first time we tried this plate well platter to be exact, it's the pow pow platter, it's an appetizer that comes with crab puffs, egg rolls, paper wrapped chicken, bbq pork, fried shrimp and the most flavorful beef skewers called chow chow beef. Been there twice now, first time the food was amazing. Had again tonight (12/28). We ordered two #6's one we changed the sweet and sour chicken to chicken chow mein with soft noodles and a medium wonton soup. Mine was the regular #6. The fried shrimp taste like fish, had to spit it into the garbage. The rice tasted like regular rice with just soy sauce. And the wonton soup was unpleasant. The only decent item was my sweet and sour chicken. My husband concurs that it was a waste of money. Came to $36. So sad as we want to help support local business during this hard time. read more

I like good Chinese food. This place is really good. I have been here twice now and it has been very good both times. The first time we ordered 2 different ones of the lunch specials to go. We had enough food to feed 4 people and 2 kids easily, and still had left overs, This time we ate in the restaurant, so we had hot tea and soup with our meals. I was told this was one of the best places in Longview for chinese and all I can say is Longview residence have low expectations. This was some of the worst chinese food I ever tried to eat. I ordered their lunch special. I wasted $11 on pork lo mein made up of wilted vegetables mixed in a spaghetti type noodle. The fried rice was a dark brown and flavorless. The sticky clump looked like it had been served with an ice cream scoop. The stir fried vegetables had brown spots on them and the celery was just sad. I will never eat here again. read more

This place used to be our go to place, granted they always closed earlier then every other bar in town most nights but after the shut down we have gone in on 3 different occasions and it's been a huge disappointment each time. New staff: Hugely lack the warm customer service skills we had come to know and love. New hours: Apparently the owner is independently wealthy and doesn't make his money from owning a bar/restaurant. Closing down early even on the weekends, 9pm on a Saturday night when he could legally be open later for no good reason. Our first return visit there was no greeting from the bar staff even after 5 minutes, we had arrived hungry, and went elsewhere. Second visit: We did finally get greeted, eat and each get one drink, we were handed a bill and were not even told that there was a last call, basically just handed a bill and shoved out the door. Third visit: We arrived about 8:30pm, we were told kitchen no longer taking orders and that we'd have time for one drink before we would have to go. So disappointing, we left and had dinner at The Carriage who seem to value their customers by staying open until a more reasonable time. The decor: while many places spruced up while shut down, this place hasn't even seen a new coat of paint since the 80s, it's sad. Not going to waste our time going to a place that only caters to the Happy Hour crowd that arrive after their 9-5 jobs. read more

I'm from Portland, OR and was in Longview looking for a warehouse space to lease. After doing what I was suppose to do my partner and I hit the town to look for some good food. We found Panda Inn through yelp and decided to check it out. I'm not a fan of Chinese food, especially Panda Express style Chinese food. I ordered Generals Tsao, sizzling beef, honey walnut shrimp thinking it would be like all the other Chinese I've been to. Man.... Let me tell you, they do it RIGHT. The food was god quality, very delicious and that was on Wednesday. The food was so good that I drove an hour from Portland on Thursday for another round lol. read more

Whenever I've gone here it's always cold inside, the food isn't good at all and the interior is really bad. It doesn't look like anything Chinese at all. The service is pretty good though, not great, but... good. The tea is really bad and the potstickers aren't good either. It is cheap though. This place earns 2 stars for the decent service and how cheap it is, the problems are the terrible food and the bad interior, and how cold it is inside sometimes. read more

Great value. On one of my partner and I's trips to Oregon we stopped into this small chinese restaurant after walking around the lake nearby. We were surprised by the prices when we went in and then again were surprised by the large amount off food we got for the small price. (We left stuffed). This place serves middle America style Chinese food (not super authentic) but perfect for when you have a craving for take out style chinese. The flavors were good, but not the best. When we went they were very busy, so maybe that accounts for what I am about to say next; when we were there the service was really slow and we didn't get checked up on that often. read more

The crab puffs tasted like rancid oil as well as the egg roll. The Peking shrimp was so salty it made me thirsty as I was eating it. Service was not up to their usual standard either. I usually get their dinner special (pan fried noodles) & upgrade the sweet and sour to orange chicken for only $3 extra. This is enough food for 1 adult and two children! This place is the absolute best. I used to come here a lot back when I was dating my wife, who happened to live very close. After not being in there for like a year, the lady (who always always always seems to be working) not only remembered us, but the dish we liked to order. Came for Christmas with the husband. They're fairly busy and service is a bit slow but understandably so. Food was brought out quickly, starting with appetizers. Egg drop soup was okay but nothing to get excited about. Fried wontons were light and crispy, and the sauce was very good. The chicken with vegetables was good, with most of the vegetables cooked but still slightly crispy. Only the carrots had lost their crispness but were still okay. BBQ pork was good, pork fried rice was overly dry and on the bland side but the pork used in it was good. Sweet and sour chicken was very good if slightly overdone. Fried shrimp was perfect. do not order the Honey & Walnut Shrimp. What you will get is a taste like someone melted orange sherbet ice cream poured all over shrimp & about 7 walnut sprinkled on top. We found this place to be average maybe a little above. I'm not sure how to give a half star but I would have given it three and a half if I knew how. The portions are very generous. The sweet and sour chicken pieces were mostly small round ball shape. Not sure why that bothers me but it does. The batter was a little thicker than I like. The subgum chicken chow mein was the best part of the meal. The egg rolls were more like spring rolls. But still tasty. And very very hot. We got two great dinners with soup for less than twenty bucks. We live in Vancouver and don't get up to Longview very often but when we do we'll probably go back read more

Moved to Longview about a year ago. Tried several of the restaurants nearby (along 15th Ave from bridge to TriRivers mall) This place is next door to my coffee hut (Yay! Dutch Bros) so I figured I'll try them. I am a simple eater...I like various fried rices and BBQ Pork, as a general rule. I found the BBQ pk Fried rice to be well cooked, tender and delicious. Better than any of the other 4 places I found, thus far. The cost was reasonable, and my wife really enjoys their crab puffs (called rangoon at Panda Express). The inside is clean, airy and plenty of seating, including a bar area thru a door near the restrooms. Went on a Sunday evening and was very happy with the experience. I have never had any problems or errors with my food and they have accommodated some crazy requests (Orange Chicken, extra spicy with no breading) at no extra charge! Sadly the usual Chinese restaurant that we ordered from was closed due to Covid. We love to support local and so we were happy to try another restaurant. Unfortunately for us the quality of the food, the portions and accuracy of the order all missed the mark. We only received half of our order, and the portions were less than half of the restaurant we usually order from. When we called to say that half of our order was missing they basically argued and stated that they count the order before it goes out. They asked if we'd like to come pick up the other half. It just so happened we had our grandson that night and decided to splurge and order Door Dash so that we didn't have to take him out, so the option to come pick up food that was supposed to be delivered didn't seem like a very good alternative when the error was theirs. They also stated that any refund was a Door Dash issue and passed the buck completely. Thankfully DoorDash was accommodating and helpful. As for the little food we did receive the quality was poor. Good food, nice interior, and friendly servers. It's not the best Chinese food I've had, probably not even in my top 5 but it was good, the portions were huge and I like the extras they give you like the hot tea, oranges and fortune cookies. I ordered the triple Mongolian that came with chicken, beef and shrimp. It was spicy but not very sweet like almost every other restaurant I've ordered Mongolian beef or chicken from. Unfortunately I like sweet Chinese food so I didn't love my dish but my hubby's orange chicken was perfect for me.
