We started out with the burrata salad apparently a seasonal special. Good things. It's hard to screw up burrata. It was yummy. It was November. Not sure where these strawberries came from but they were amazing. Possibly just too a good combination of seasoning. That's it. Burrata. Strawberries. Like a nine year old chose the ingredients. No greens or vegetables. It made for kind of a tasty but wimpy appetizer. My friend wanted the halibut but she didn't want any more cream in her meal so asked if they could sub the side. No. They do not. Now I get if it is a composed dish where the side completes the concept. Or you're a hoity toity Michelin star restaurant. Come on man just sub the vegetables So she got the salmon with melted artichokes. We asked how they cook that. Deep fried apparently. Imagine a bloomin onion but the inner third of an artichoke with no batter. The thin leaves actually kind of melted in my mouth but the rest was pure grease. Nasty. Salmon was seasoned and cooked well. Good save. My wife got the lobster ravioli. It felt a lot of the meat was those ends of the tail and claws that are just not very pleasant. Every one of us tried it and noticed an odd taste. We finally figured out it was cinnamon. Very off putting. I'm not sure where these flavors go together but I'm not sure this is what Italians do. I got the osso bucco. They serve it over potatoes. The potatoes were way too salty and very gummy. Not very appetizing. The meat was cooked just enough to render it an osso bucco but still a little tough and way too much inedible gristle. It was also very bland. I'm not sure if the potatoes contributed to it but the sauce was just boring. Overall a really disappointing meal. The price wasn't terrible but the meal just didn't deliver.

We were really excited about their…read more"Free Dinner Friday" offer - purchase $20 in drinks (easy!) and get two free pasta dishes. We were promised Cacio e Pepe (my FAVE!), but that was no Cacio e Pepe. It was good. It was a perfectly fine alfredo sauce, but it wasn't what I was excited to have for dinner that night. I would have easily overlooked this, though, if we'd had a server who was hard to track down and the dinner didn't take 45 minutes to come out to us (and honestly, she didn't know what the free dinner offering was for the night). We did order an appetizer (the artichoke dip - and it was super yummy), so I get that our dinner was being timed to come out after that, but I think we waited quite a bit longer than 20 minutes *after* we were done with our appetizer to get our dinners. And we were the second table to arrive for dinner service, so it's not like we caught them during the dinner rush. It was kind of a bummer. This was my second time there. I recall not particularly loving my first experience when it was still the Rusty Grape. I might give it a third (and final) try, but I'm on the fence. We'll see.

The pizza tastes like it's straight from Italy (I actually don't want to eat pizza from anywhere else) and their bacon wrapped jalapeños are also delicious. The stuffed mushrooms are good, however, very small and not that many for the price (quite expensive!). The mock tails and drinks are also super good! The owner is a great guy and I got to chat with him a little bit. They now have a food truck at the BG food cart pod, secret happy hour days and outdoor movie nights in the summer! Highly recommend this place!

The duo of bartenders covering the area did an awesome job (thank you guys!). I tried a draft cider and we got an order of coconut prawns to start. Not only were the prawns delicious, the slaw they came on was soooo tasty. We both tried the social hour burgers. We got them with double patties and fries. The burgers were cooked beautifully and the seasoning really worked well. The fries were a perfect crisp golden brown and they were salted well. I got some garlic aioli, so so so good! Great service, great venue, great food!

We waited 10 minutes before we were taken to our seats. It seems as though there were enough tables to accommodate the long wait line, but not enough staffing. We understood. Our waitress gave us our menu and we looked through the menu. She came back shortly and took our order. We ordered the king pao calamari to share. My husband ordered the Parmesan encrusted halibut and I ordered the wood fire grilled rib eye steak. The kung pao calamari came with cauliflower. It was okay, the kung pao sauce was a bit too powerful for the sweetness of the calamari. I would lighten up the sauce lightly. The Parmesan encrusted halibut came with tomato paste, along with califlower, green beans and potatoes. I had a quick taste and it was okay. My dish came with smashed potatoes and asparagus which is a great pairing. The steak was cooked to perfection and I liked the smashed potatoes. The restaurant has a lot of searings, and nice decor. There are lots of views of the River which sets the ambiance for the night.

She suggested the beef medallions with mushrooms, so we got that, as well as the house lasagna. Both were absolutely delicious! Lasagna is his all time favorite - and what his mother would have made him if we had been able to make it back East for his birthday, (but we got stormed out). I was thrilled that he thought this was just as good. I don't do mushrooms but can maneuver my way around them (which means picking them out at putting them on my boyfriends plate). The restaurant is charming and intimate and decor very much takes you from Seaside, OR to any small town in Italy (or Little Italy in NYC). Maria was our server (according to the receipt) and she was awesome! She was personable, and spent time visiting with us and telling us the history of the restaurant. She also helped me be sneaky and hid the little birthday cake I snuck in my bag and hid it in back, then had brought it out later; adding a bunch of ice cream to it - and got the other restaurant guests to suing Happy Birthday to him. My boyfriend is fairly private so this intimate setting and delicious food, was exactly what he wanted and a wonderful surprise for him.

We were seated and served right away, which is always nice. Our server was very pleasant and took good care of us throughout our visit. The food was good, but didn't impress me as much as it did on our last visit. I had carbonara, which is always my go-to baseline meal, and it wasn't bad, tasted ok, but didn't blow me away at all. My wife did enjoy her dish, however, and our drinks were very tasty too. It might have just been me, so I'm not going to say don't go here, you absolutely should, because this is probably the most authentic Italian you're going to get in this area and it's worth a visit!
