Even going on a Monday night, it was packed with people, however, we were able to snag a table for two without a reservation right away. The service was attentive and helpful. I got the full portion of the smoked mushroom ravioli and I absolutely loved it. I appreciated that the portion was quite large because too often ordering ravioli means you barely get any pasta. The sauce was decadent, savory, smokey, and had a hint of sweetness, which pulled everything together.

Our server was friendly and quick. She answered questions and described the specials. They have gluten free focaccia!!!! It was super yummy, but it was also served kinda cold. Worth it. We ordered the fresh catch, which was halibut with some potatoes and grilled asparagus. The accompanying sauces were delicious. The asparagus was good. The white potatoes though had been cooked previously and weren't reheated enough. They were described as new potatoes but were definitely large chunks of russets. They were hard to eat. So we didn't. We also had the Punta di Fesa which is a braised beef dish with mushrooms on polenta. The balsamic mushrooms and polenta were so flavorful and delicious. It was a good thing that my husband started with this dish (we traded halfway through and had plenty to eat!) because I would have eaten his share of the polenta too. The beef however was dry and not what I would have expected from a braised beef. When we were given a knife, we were told we probably wouldn't need it. We did. The service here was friendly and helpful. Our server was knowledgeable about gluten free needs and recommended a great bottle of wine that went well with our fish AND the beef (which is tricky...yummy Chianti AND half price!). It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night at 7. There were people that ended up waiting but not too long. There are shelves of Italian goods all around you. My husband said he felt like he was eating in a store. You kind of are, but it was still cozy. I plan to come back to try the gluten free pasta and maybe a lunch sandwich if they have solid gf options there. Also, the dessert menu looked great. We were just full.

She made sure all of our needs were met. This is a very modern and attractive restaurant. They were playing really great 70s soft rock music today, which I particularly liked. They have really delicious complementary bread, that is served with a whipped butter and also with balsamic vinegar/olive oil. We also ordered the bruschetta, which was very tasty and had a very light crisp leaf fried basil leaf on top of each of the three pieces and a generous piece of carved Parmesan. When the dishes came, we realized they were quite generous portions. The chicken scallopini was pretty good. The spaghetti and meatballs was being shared with a toddler, and they were nice enough to substitute the spaghetti for penne pasta. This was also a tasty dish. We ordered the brussels sprouts as well and these were deliciously seasoned and excellently prepared. Highly recommend the brussels sprouts. I really want to emphasize again that the service was exceptional.

We were promised Cacio e Pepe (my FAVE!), but that was no Cacio e Pepe. It was good. It was a perfectly fine alfredo sauce, but it wasn't what I was excited to have for dinner that night. I would have easily overlooked this, though, if we'd had a server who was hard to track down and the dinner didn't take 45 minutes to come out to us (and honestly, she didn't know what the free dinner offering was for the night). We did order an appetizer (the artichoke dip - and it was super yummy), so I get that our dinner was being timed to come out after that, but I think we waited quite a bit longer than 20 minutes *after* we were done with our appetizer to get our dinners. And we were the second table to arrive for dinner service, so it's not like we caught them during the dinner rush. It was kind of a bummer. This was my second time there. I recall not particularly loving my first experience when it was still the Rusty Grape. I might give it a third (and final) try, but I'm on the fence. We'll see.

The pizza tastes like it's straight from Italy (I actually don't want to eat pizza from anywhere else) and their bacon wrapped jalapeños are also delicious. The stuffed mushrooms are good, however, very small and not that many for the price (quite expensive!). The mock tails and drinks are also super good! The owner is a great guy and I got to chat with him a little bit. They now have a food truck at the BG food cart pod, secret happy hour days and outdoor movie nights in the summer! Highly recommend this place!

There's an eclectic mix of tables and chairs that adds to the charm, and they've done an excellent job fitting plenty of seating into the space without making it feel crowded. There's also a cozy little bar with the obligatory TVs. Despite the lack of soft surfaces, the noise level was surprisingly low, and the background music was at just the right volume, making conversation easy. We seated ourselves, and our server arrived promptly with menus and took our drink order. Unfortunately, after our food was delivered, she seemed to disappear. She never came back to check on our meal, and we ended up asking another server for drink refills. The food, however, was fantastic! I had the Pacific Pasta (I may have the name slightly wrong), and it was outstanding. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was light and flavorful, and there was so much seafood! I expected a couple of shrimp and a few chunks of salmon, but the plate was loaded with both. My husband ordered the tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly, and he enjoyed the rice as well. The presentation of both dishes was excellent. The prices were very reasonable. Our bill came to about $110 for an appetizer, two entrées, and three drinks. If I had one small wish, it would be cloth napkins. It's a tiny detail and certainly doesn't take away from the experience, but it's one of those little touches that would have made the meal feel just a bit more special. Overall, I was very impressed and would definitely recommend this restaurant. I'd happily return the next time we're in town.
