Wow some of the best food i've ever had. We came in right before closing and got 2 plates for less than $20 (about $18). We received the biggest portions that i've ever gotten from any kind of fast food restaurant. The service was extremely quick and the food was absolutely amazing. So I walk in to Panda Wok today (sure the pandemic has been affecting restaurants.....) with seats on the tables. Welcome I order the C23 combo - extra spicy. I made sure to reiterate the term extra spicy as I had asked, "Is the shrimp fried or sauteed?" Of course, it's now made "steamed" at this particular Panda Wok. I ask for noodles, 4 crab rangoons, and a can of Coke. The bill totals $18.57 and (seeing as how I have been in the HOSPITALITY industry for, um, 25 years now, leave a $6.43 tip - $25. I was excited, especially considering the box probably weighed 2.5 LBS. Upon receiving meal about 10 minutes later (5 minutes before promised) I asked the woman, "Is it extra spicy?" considering there was another guest who ordered practically the same combo right behind me. She answered affirmatively without hesitation. I sat on the bench in the lot, opened the box, and dug in. It was not at all spicy, drenched in some type of bland sauce, had too many onions, huge-size sliced both green & sweet peppers (I hate the taste of sweet peppers), and only 6 shrimp. Okay Panda Wok in East Point! I walked back in and gave them a chance to gain .repeat business of mine, not to mention the guests who witnessed the following lack of accountability, poor recovery skills, unknowledgeable customer service, and faking as if what I was saying very concisely was gibberish. No such chance - they "...only have red pepper seeds..." but she made sure to step close to the, um, not spicy hot sauce packets so I could tailor my own $11.50 C23. Hm. Ok so I come to this Chinese restaurant whenever I want a cheap meal. However, I don't think I will go back. But I will say the review about their health score not being there is not true. It's there alright buts it's not 100 or 99 or 95 or 91.....It's an 87 as of right now. That's not good for any restaurant. But other than the low score this place has horrible customer service. Please believe the reviews about the young lady who is super rude. She will sit there on her phone and ignore you for a good 2 minutes before she takes your order or rings you you up. You can be as nice as you can be to her but she doesn't reciprocate the kindness. She has no customer service and in my opinion if they allow her to continue to be a server knowing how rude she is they clearly don't value good customer service. Sadly they are probably all related anyway or really good friends so it won't matter. The food is not consistent. One day the fried rice will be burned another day it will be dry and old. Some servers give you a good amount of food while others (like the rude girl) will skimp you on food. They are supposed to be cafeteria style Chinese but I've had much better. As I said I settled for it because it was cheap but their prices will rise again (as it has twice before) and I question how long they will stay in business considering their base customer and location. I visited this place last night and ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken wings. The shrimp fried rice consisted of imitation shrimp and imitation vegetables. The vegetables were similar to the ones found in the Raman soup cups. The fried rice all together tasted bad, no flavor but the heavy soy sauce and greasy taste. The fried chicken wings were very greasy. Perhaps I should have ordered the food that was all ready prepared such as the chicken dishes and maybe I would of had a different experience. The worst Chinese food ever. Orange chicken tasted like colored sugar water, pieces were hard as rocks. Not deep fried fresh, probably cooked that morning and sat around. Hardly any beef in the Sichuan beef and tough and flavorless. Basically paid for a box of scallions and onions. Garlic chicken had pink shaded chicken in it!? No garlic flavor. Flavorless. Looks like they washed off the chicken from another meal and threw it in the wok to try to make garlic chicken. A small but busy restaurant inside of the same plaza of Walmart. My mother wanted Chinese so we decided to give this place a try. It is connected to a nail salon, a Rainbow, and other small shops. There was a line upon us walking in and they have a cafeteria style set up in which you can order from an assortment of already prepared food. You can see straight back into the kitchen which I like because you can see the cooks. My mother ordered garlic chicken with vegetable fried rice and was able to switch the pork eggroll that comes with it to a spring roll at no extra charge. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp with fried rice, switched out the pork egg roll to the shrimp egg roll. We had to wait as our food was freshly prepared. We took our order to go. When we sat down to eat, my mom commented that her vegetable fried rice was good. I ordered plain fried rice and it tasted stale and like it had just been sitting out. I recooked it with broccoli added and it tasted better. My shrimp egg roll had one piece of shrimp in it but it wasn't too bad. I'd order it again. The sweet and sour shrimp (no sauce) was so greasy. My stomach rebelled against me as I tried to swallow the grease. I wanted so much to like it because the shrimp was fresh but there was an abundance of batter and grease that I just couldn't take it. This Panda Wok is located at the Walmart shopping center between Rainbow & a barber shop. It's always clean on the inside & the lady who serves you is always really nice! The customers give her a hard time a lot of the time, but I guess that comes with the demographic. You get really good portions for the price & the food is always hot! I stumbled upon this place whilst on Cleveland Ave (Walmart parking lot.)The first time that I went, I was greeted by a young lady that looks like she's in high school. She was sweet and let me try a few pieces to help with my decision. I ordered hibachi chicken, rice, and egg roll. My food came up to about $6.50 which was a great deal. I went for a second time last night and wasn't greeted at all. There was a different lady at the counter. She was a bit older and seemed more into what was playing on her phone vs assisting me. This place does not value their customers and has horrible customer service skills. I arrived at this place at 2:55 pm. This was my first time here so I was unfamiliar with the menu but I did see they had a lunch special ending at 3:00pm. There were a couple of people before me so by time I got to the counter it was 2:59. When i told her I'd be interested in the lunch special, she immediately stated that lunch special was over. When I showed her that it was a minute til, she verified and said to go ahead. I began to look at the menu to place my order and then she rudely told me to hurry up and order. I was shocked. I looked behind me because, perhaps I was holding up the line, but no one was there. She then stated that she would not honor my order if I passed 3:00. I couldn't believe that! I looked at my phone and it was still 2:59. So I asked to make sure I was clear, if I were to place an order and the time went a minute pass 3:00 if she would honor my order. She again said no and to hurry up and order. I declined. I am not sure as to what she is used to, but the lady clearly didn't have people or customer service skills. I would never spend my hard earned money with businesses that didn't value their customers and were rude and unapologetic about their arrogant, rude and obnoxious attitude. I'm in line and looking to place an order but because I'm close to their threshold, she decides to be petty and rude because she is unable to charge me their premium. Kick rocks lady! Now I will not only never support you. But my coworkers who share my same values and sentimates will no longer and never support you either. Bizarre low quality food. The chicken dishes are made with a scrap chicken meat combo of pressed dark and white meat plus skin. If you are like most Americans, are looking for white breast meat chicken in your dish this isn't the place to go. Chicken is fried in same oil/shorten as the fish and other seafood. Egg Rolls are decent and appear to contain cabbage and carrots only. Broccoli chicken dishes taste like chlorine water for some reason. Fu youg dishes are burnt to dark brown. All of this is a matter of personal taste. But on multiple occasions I have heard customers ask the young lady a the register if the chicken is real. Her response is yes. A friend told me about this place and after checking it out, I was very pleased with how clean the inside were and how I truly loved the food. they have very affordable meals and their not shy about giving you a healthy amount of food. There's only one problem, They need more help with serving the food. They seems to always have a long line of customers waiting, but there's only one server that serve food and take the cash, which can be a health hazard. I purposefully avoided this restaurant for the first several weeks it was open because i thought it was going to be one of the "mall" type of chinese restaurants....you know like Panda Express. Panda Wok is not a mall type restaurant in the slightest. It is a excellent place to get good chinese food. This place is a little different that a lot of chinese restaurants ive been in. Up front they have many, many dishes of which you can fill up you container with scoops. Its a $1.25 per scoop and they are HUGE scoops let me tell you. They are not ice cream sized scoops. You dont scoop it yourself but the employee behind the counter does and when hes done you end up with a huge amount of food. I choose not to order via the scoop method but i choose to order straight from the menu. Everything on the menu is not on the scoop aisle. I got the same as a i always get Generals Tso's Chicken, Beef Lo Mein and 3 egg rolls. I waited for my order to get ready and when he handed it to me i thought it felt kind of heavy but didnt really pay attention. When i got home i realized why it was heavy. They fill their styrofoam containers to the absolutely brim with food. I could not believe how chock full everything was. I have NEVER come across that before. The Generals Chicken and Beef Lo Mein rank up their with the best so that is awesome and it is so nice to have an incredible chinese place on this side of town. S.W. Great food, if they would be more friendly and acknowledge the the people they serve. I go there almost everyday. One day they charged me twice, I told the short Chinese lady about it, she seem not apologetic about it, saying, I should wait a week but the card processing firm will refund me the amount. I contacted my bank and they took care of it. I keep going there, she has never followed up, no acknowledgement of whether the refund went through or not. You serve the community, and cant be more engaging? Sometimes, i hear the same grumblings when in line to order - they don't look friendly, as if they resent the people they are serving.
