    Cowboy Croissant
    Albert T.

This review is specifically for the Pane d'Amore stall in the Port Angeles Saturday farmers market. We visited during a downpour and the stall, being in the area without a roof, had heavy plastic tarps covering all the pastries. We ended up getting two items on this visit: Cheese Stick ($2.75) - Chewy dough stick about a foot long. The dough seems to be rolled in cheddar cheese and then baked, giving distinct cheese nuggets randomly dispersed throughout. It has good cheese flavor, kind of tangy. Due to the rain, perhaps, all the crisp on the actual dough is gone, so it's just chewy throughout with no skin. (4/5) Cowboy Croissant ($2.75) - Tiny puck, less than three inches across - wish they offered bigger ones! Sharp cheddar, bacon with pesto. Great flavors that complement each other well. The croissant dough tastes a little on the sweet side. Good lamination. (4/5) Pane d'Amore serves some pretty good pastries. We actually planned on heading over to the Seqium location the following day, but didn't realize it was closed on Sundays. Oh well, there's always next time!

Let me tell you story about how Pane d'Amore, came into my life - My parents vacationed in Sequim for 2 weeks several years ago. They visited Pane d'Amore everyday on vacation, and have spoken about it ever since. Recently, I had an opportunity to visit the Seattle area and I kept thinking about this bakery. I made an official decision to commit to trying it out. After a long drive, I can confidently say that Pane d'Amore did not disappoint the "hype" that it received from my very foodie parents. I got two pastries and two loaves of bread. The pear and almond danish was one of the best danishes that I have had because the pear, frangipane, and toasted almonds paired so naturally. I picked this combination because I was curious about the texture but the toasted almonds add a nice crunch. The cinnamon twist was just as delicious due to its flaky lamination. I did not take a photo of the bread but they were so fresh (they must have been baked that morning). Tips for visiting- It is easy to miss Pan d'Amore if you aren't looking for it. There is a parking lot behind the shop off of the main road. Also, the walk-up window is very efficient so don't be deterred by a line.

    Flourless chocolate walnut cookie

I can only attest to the chocolate walnut cookie and brownie. This cookie was to die for. It was moist, chewy, chocolate forward. Everything a cookie should be! And it was flourless. It's a walk up artisan bakery with daily fresh bread. Also some frozen goods and fresh made baked goods. I don't live in the area. This is next to a coffee place and easy to overlook.

Orange poppyeed scones, oatmeal raisin cookie, Cowboy Croissant

I bought some goodies from the Pane d'Amore booth at the Port Angeles Farmers Market today. I went to Pane d'Amore in Sequim in August, and they have the same products. Today I decided to try an orange poppy seed scone, oatmeal raisin cookie, and "Cowboy Croissant" (which has smoked cheese, spinach, and bacon), and back in August I had a jalapeño cheddar scone. They had two scones left when I got there, and when I got home, I realized that they had given me both but not charged me for the other one. They were closing up, and I guess they figured they'd give me the last one. Everything was really good. This scones weren't too dense for scones, the oatmeal raisin cookie was spiced well and made with golden raisins for a milder raisin flavor, and the smoked cheese in the Cowboy Croissant was incredibly flavorful.

    Cherry danish

The sourdough baguette is fantastic, along with everything I've sampled so far from this great bakery! Chocolate brownie...blueberry danish, cherry danish, cinnamon twist, flourless cookie, cinnamon roll...all great! This location is a walk up window, and a couple of picnic tables outside but the baked goods are fantastic

If you are in this area and are looking for a home made pastry or loaf of bread you must stop here! The lady working the window was so nice and gave helpful suggestions. We ordered two pastries for a quick breakfast and a loaf of the grandma's bread for lunch later.

It was sweet and buttery so I didn't even need to add syrup or butter to my French toast! Vegetable omelette was super yummy and we are super appreciative that the server was able to substitute potatoes and toast for squash due to Jon's dietary needs. The bad: They only serve drip coffee. We live in Sequim! They really need to step up their coffee game and offer lattes and expressos. I ordered OJ. They were out of OJ. Really? The ugly: My over easy eggs were UGLY.... Both eggs were broken and one was overcooked. So relieved they did good and replaced them with yummy over easy eggs. The other ugly (which caused the 4 star review) is how EXPENSIVE this restaurant is. Jon ordered a vegetarian omelette $18 plus $3 salsa plus $3 avocado plus $3 change of potato and toast to squash. Really? His one omelette order cost $27 before tax! $30 after tax!

I wish I had paused to take a photo! Denise is the owner and she came out and made us feel most welcome and shared some insight as to what made her crab cakes so delicious (the best). The prime rib dip was one of the best we've had. Albacore tuna melt, was a big yes! Sarah our server was genuine and prompt with our needs. Can't wait to return here. Finished up with some carrot cake... dense and delectable!

They roast their own coffee and serve delicious breakfast and lunch, with beer and wine available later in the day. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with about a dozen tables inside plus covered outdoor seating. The staff couldn't have been friendlier--I had the pleasure of meeting Tara and one of her coworkers, and they made us feel right at home. The coffee was outstanding, and they offer a great selection of freshly roasted beans, from light to dark roasts. The pastry case looked amazing, and they also feature daily specials. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and I'll definitely be coming back for it--it was excellent! My wife had the spinach frittata with cheese and bacon, and she loved it. We only wish we had a place like this closer to home in Seattle. There are plenty of great coffee shops there, but this café has a special hometown feel that makes you want to come back. If you're in the Sequim area, don't miss it!

Perhaps more importantly, the pies. OMG the pies. Home made, perfect balance between fruit and sugar, and on the Marion berry pie, a perfect crumble crust. I come for the chili and pie. Both are delicious. I add on sour cream and cheese with Fritos to my chili and get a bowl. It's enough to fill me up for two meals. But for most a bowl is nice and hearty to fill you up. A cup will want you craving for more. The Marion berry pie is absolutely delicious. A bit on the pricy side but that's just the economy inflating everything. I would say it's worth it. The Berrys are nice and tart and the crust and crumb are buttery goodness. I always eat this pie while I'm driving and regret not getting two slices. I got the Bedford ginger beer and it was pretty tasty. Overall, if I'm ever in the area and even if I'm 1.5 hours away I come here. Get yourself some pie and chili.
