I ordered the power plus crepe (gluten free as I have celiac) and while it was an enjoyable meal at the beginning, I unfortunately had symptoms of gluten contamination within a couple hours. Therefore my husband and I had to rush back to our hotel and cut our first day exploring Dublin a bit short. I don't think I would return but the crepe itself did taste good so I can see how others would have a pleasant experience. Just be cautious if you have allergies. read more

The place is a great little cafe with excellent breakfast and coffee! They are open as early at 0730 which is great because there are very few breakfast cafes that are open early out here in Dublin. We decided on there breakfast crepes which hit the spot for us! The crepes were very fulfilling and full of flavor! Their Americano coffee was great as well. Definitely a must eat at if you're looking for a quick bit to take away or if you're looking to sit down to eat breakfast! OMG how I heart this little place. Lemon Cafe & Creperie is a fun, casual spot for a jolly grand breakfast or brunch. You can guess what their specialty is. Yes, they are masters of the craft of the 'crepe'. Oh, and the correct pronunciation is 'krehp' NOT 'crayp' -- like how most Americans and others tend to butcher the word. :/ Workers at this cafe have the cheeriest demeanor, at least the times I've gone. Their vibe is very happy, bright and friendly. Seems that it's a very international staff, maybe quite a few students. Lemon is actually one of the less expensive cafes in town-- if you can believe it-- and still manages to keep up great quality food. The tourist office used to have a flyer for 10% discount off take-away orders. Doesn't matter, everything here is a great value. You have your choice of savory and sweet crepes, and fillings galore. The ham, cheese, and caramelized onion selections are delicious. I'm pretty sure they'll let you choose your own combo from whatever is on the menu. Place your order at the counter, plant yourself at a table, and pretty soon some young happy person will bring your goodies to you. :] The only menu item that might be an ever-so-slight miss at Lemon Crepe & Coffee is the omelettes. Of course, it all depends what you expect from an omelette. To me, they taste too similar to the crepes and are a bit dry, albeit not tough. I'm just not into dry omelettes, but if you are, you've hit the jackpot. :P Finally, don't even get me started on the coffee. Can we just say: Super Excellent! I don't know what magical machines Lemon uses, but it is brilliant, the brew that comes out of them. Overall I am impressed with Lemon--not only for the quality of food they are serving but with the size of the menu in such a tiny little place. My mouth was watering from merely reading the list of savory crepes they offer. They had a vegetarian list but a few veg options were sprinkled throughout the menu as well. Hubs had a Crispy Breakfast crepe with bacon and egg inside and served with a side of relish. We have yet to meet a relish that we liked but he was more than happy with the crepe. In my search for good Mexican food, I think I've found a secret in Lemon's Mexican Pepper crepe. It came filled with delicious guacamole and topped with piles of freshly julienned peppers and onions and drizzled with a delectable chipotle sauce. The other impressive part about Lemon is the value. The crepes all cost around 7 EUR but they are huge and folded twice just to fit on your plate. That means 4 layers of delicious crepe and oozy filling for you to devour. The coffee tasted a bit weak but I will most certainly be back for the food. We walked into a few a places to see were they doing pancakes, after a few failed attempts to attain any we happened upon lemon by accident and thought perfect! lovely springy texture, fresshness of lemon! On finding the cafe on Yelp, i went to try one this morning. I chose "Traditional" Crepe: the one with lemon, suger, butter. As a morning set, I could add maple syrup with it , which made a wonderful harmony with lemon! The flavour of mellow butter is a little weaker than the real French ones, but it has amazingly springy texture when you mesticate it. The size is really suitable for breakfast, I think. I also had a cup of Cafe Mocha, which was great, too. the body of ground coffe and the sweetness of chocolate was really nice. I recommend you take something from the morning sets, cos they are reasonable and you can get some special options. read more

Lovely crepes but i'm not a fan of the seating in here at all the long benches make sitting beside strangers a frequent occurrence, I much prefer actual tables where you can sit beside whoever you came in with and thats that. It felt very crowded and noisy but i suppose theres not much you can do about that with such a busy city centre spot. Lemon is one of those places that just always seems busy. Possibly due to is tiny size, which means if you are queuing for a takeaway, you have to stand ass to face with those who are trying to eat at the low tables. I can't understand in all the years that they've been open in both locations, why a better system for queuing hasn't been arranged. We got takeaway crêpes here on Saturday, the bros behind the corner seemed more content having the banter than rushing themselves into making food for their hungry customers. When we eventually got our traditional crêpes, they were so dry and tasted of nothing other than butter. I decided to throw a bit of lemon on them but they have removed the lemon from the tables. My seat was comfortable, nobody rushed me, and instead, when my partner arrived to help me out, they gave him as much info as they could about nearby electronics stores...and while he was off looking for stuff, one of the guys chatted with me the whole time about San Francisco, a place he, too, loves! One of the reasons I love lemon is that they offer gluten free crepes option and this is really rare in Dublin. The gluten free ones are based on buckwheat and have this yummy nutty flavor. The menu is full of great choices but I mostly stick with the mexican vegetarian one but the sweet ones are as good as the savoury ones. Even I love chocolate in all kinds and mostly never get enough, the rich chocolate and coconut one really got me to my limits and I could not finish- so be aware of this before ordering ;) read more

Holy sweet tap dancing Jebus, the Power Plus crepe in here rocks!! Not too heavy, not too light and soooo yummy. The coffee is nice too, to match their staff. It's a great place for a quick pit-stop to be honest, as the place is small enough. But the turnover of people is usually quick enough that you shouldn't have long to wait to get a seat. Perhaps it's just me, but both times I've been in Lemon, I was very underwhelmed. My friends natter on about it's brilliance, but I don't quite see it. Lemon is cramped, uncomfortable and has really slow service. Crepes are all well and good, as a desert. Put some chicken tikka in there and it's damn blasphemy. When I lived in Dublin in 2006, Lemon was a place we visited at least once a week and we were often guilty of going twice in a weekend. I know that sounds ridiculous, but it's so hard to choose between the sweet and savory crepes that sometimes you had to go back for the other flavor. (It's been a while, but..) The sweet crepes have all the standard fixings sugar, honey, fruit, nutella... There were some delicious savory ones as well. The store front is pretty small, so you may find yourself awfully close to a stranger, or sharing a table with them. If you're lucky and the weather's nice, there are some great orange chairs (and heat lamps) outside to enjoy the people watching. I'll be there on my return trip in September! woot! read more
