Drive-Thru Health Hazard & Rude Manager - Half-Eaten Bread Served to Pregnant Customer Visited the drive-thru at this Panera Bread (1405 Parschen Blvd, Brunswick, OH) on December 16, 2025 around 3:20 PM. Ordered a modified You Pick 2 with French Baguette side. After receiving my order, I peeked in the bag at the window and discovered the baguette was clearly half-eaten and contaminated (photos attached). I am pregnant, making this a serious health risk--contaminated food can carry bacteria like Listeria or Salmonella, leading to miscarriage, preterm birth, or harm to the baby. I immediately pointed it out to the friendly young employee at the window, who was helpful and called the shift manager (young/Gen Z appearance, long blonde hair). I proceeded to go inside Panera with my order and half eaten piece of bread to wait for a new baguette to finish in the oven. The manager came over, laughed at my complaint, carelessly handed me a small bag with a new loaf, laughed again, and refused to apologize or show any concern. I asked her if she was going to apologize and she had a big smirk on her face but didn't say a word. This dismissive and unprofessional response is alarming, especially for food safety. It makes me question overall hygiene practices at this location. Reporting to Medina County Health Department. Extremely disappointed--will not return until addressed. read more

Your basic Panera, which is good. Clean store, solid food and coffee, good WIFI and clean bathrooms. Always a good place to stop for lunch on a work day. In their current lineup the chicken goddess Caprese baguette is a primo lunch. read more

Honestly this was the worst experience I have ever had at a Panera I ordered at the window they didn't ask the sizes of the drinks or anything didn't tell us the total then when I got to the window they didn't say anything and gave us the order when I got home to eat the food the order was so sloppy the half sandwich I ordered was on the tiniest piece of bread I am not exaggerating I paid for a half sandwich not a mini sandwich and that's not all I also ordered a full sandwich and the avocado on it was past brown and the leafy greens on it were beyond soggy I paid $40 and ended up throwing it away Panera is supposed to be a better option I am very disappointed at this location read more

I believe the start to a great day is a great experience. And this location does not disappoint. I enjoy stopping here for a scone or drink. The staff always greats me with a smile each time. Even when I use the drive through. I can hear the smile before I pull up to the window. Thank you for starting my day off great. You guys are awesome. read more

The lobby of this Panera is much cleaner than the Medina location, so much so that it is worth the drive. The service was also better and the workers were actually working. Our food order was prepared correctly, the first time which made for a pleasant meal. read more

Was there on 9/16/24. Used one of their displays, picked out the order and paid at the terminal. Then walked down to the pickup window and got my order. Picked out a table and ate my meal. Then took my trash to the trash disposal area and left the store. NOT once did a employee say Hello, Goodbye, How Was Your Meal etc etc. They did although, have time to talk and chat among themselves. read more

The staff were ok, but there has been a noticeable decline in portion sizes. I always get the same thing: Bacon Turkey Bravo, add avocado and extra sauce. There were only 2 thin slices of turkey. They are far too expensive to be shorting the orders like that. read more

Went to Brunswick Ga Panera for ice coffee. There were no cups are the kiosks and no employees at the register. When I went to the food window the employee was rude and acted as if customer service was not her job. The drink bar was filthy abs the ice tea was locked open and running into the drain but I could not locate anyone to tell. Overall it was very dirty and the trash cans were over full. read more

I am a big Panera fan. But this particular one messes up my drive through order almost every time. I've been coming here for years. My boss and I were on the hunt for a quick and satisfying lunch and often frequent Panera as a healthy choice. This time, I tried the new Smokehouse BBQ Chicken sandwich and the French onion soup as a Pick Tow. I added the 99 cent pastry (a blueberry scone to go with my afternoon coffee) and a beverage. I requested an apple as my side rather than chips which they were able to do easily. The new sandwich is great! I usually stick to my traditional favorites here but I'm glad I branched out a bit. We ate at the restaurant which had plenty of people in it, but it was very clean. Food was prepared promptly and satisfying. I'll have to branch out more often. We'll be back! read more

A few things disappointed me today. We walk in and i order my pick two soup and salad NO CHEESE. Food was quickly made except my salad was made with cheese. I am severely lactose intolerant so i know to make this clear when ordering. I went up and said "i ordered no cheese" the man at the counter then says "i don't see any." i picked up a chunk of ungrated parm and he said "i stand corrected." i waited a good 7 minutes for my new salad as my soup was getting cold. The lady behind the order stand asked me "what do you need" and i told her i had an intolerance and was given the wrong thing. She yelled at the man behind the counter who took my order saying that "he never called it in" although i heard him tell her it needed remade. I got my food and it was fine. My sister ended up eating the salad with cheese and we only had one fork. so she went up and asked for one. The lady from before then said "what if i just say no" while laughing to her coworkers. she did not give my sister her fork and her soup had a hair in the center. We are 15 and 16 and are usually treated with disrespect, but from a place as expensive as panera i would expect better customer service. read more

I asked for a water cup... I noticed the manager staring at me. She yells down the hallway for everyone to hear "You're getting water right?". If you're concerned she should have came up to me, you don't need to yell. The whole time she stood there watching me. I'm assuming to make sure I actually got water. I thought that was very strange and unprofessional. She then gave me a dirty look when I responded yes I'm getting water, she still stood there. Their food was very poorly made my soup was cold. I ordered bagels last week and they were pretty flat. Manager Kathleen told me they had a dough issue. I had to throw the bagels at that time. Ordered it again today via Doordash and they sent me flat bagels again. When I called them, Manager Kathleen informed me that this is how their bagels/crackers are and she has been selling these for 11 yrs and they are perfect. If I need a refund I'd have to come back to the store with those 6 bagels. Wow, I had to drive back in the snow to show them the crackers they sent and get a refund. What a Shame. I am sorry but if she has been selling these for 11 yrs then it is time to relook at what she has been doing. Totally disappointed and the manager's attitude just amplifies the whole experience . Never going to this store again. Pls save urself some time and money before ordering something at this store or else better get Thomas bagels from grocery store. The last and final visit at this Panera several things happened. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese and low and behold a long piece of plastic was in it! Thank God she noticed. We went to complain at the counter and the girl just look at us and all she said was that the servings are individually packaged and when opened it must have happened. No apology no offer for money back. In the meantime I ordered just a regular coffee that you self serve in the common area and it was lukewarm. I went back and tried a different one and it was same not hot. Back to counter and the girl just shrugged it off. I asked if they have a microwave she could just heat mine up in and she said no!!!! read more

I am a member of the Sip Club so I stop often for coffee. The service is slow. Why do I have to wait so long at the window when I am the only car in the drive thru? How hard is it to pour coffee? I emailed Panera and I got a response saying they employ high school students and I should be patient! Apparently they don't have responsible management present? I drink too much coffee now so I am just going to cancel my Sip Club membership. The prices for the food is very high for the amount that you get. Drive right by this location! read more

Asked for a smoothly yo exclude an ingredient the cashier said ok after I explained what I wanted I paid for it then the person making the smoothie stated that it is against company policy to make a smoothie different. 6:42 p.m. on September 2nd I bought Chicken Tortillini, smoothie, & a cookie. After opening up my Chicken Tortillini, I was eating the food and it smelled weird. So I stopped to smell the food and it smelt like pneumonia. Very intense smell, and to ensure that I was correct the person with me stated the same. Personally I was scared I ate this food because of the smell. I went back to Panera Bread to get my money back for only the Tortillini and the shift manager was kind enough to give me my money back or make me something else. She also stated it smelled "funny". I am more or so worried because I wouldn't want anyone to eat something spoiled. Staff and people were nice, nothing on that behalf please. The cashier at the register was not knowledgeable of the register. She couldn't fine the black tea cold on the register. Ended up not getting it because she couldn't find it. Then she threw my receipt away and when I asked for it she grabbed it out if the trash and handed it to me. I asked her if she was seriously handing me a receipt from the trash. The food service was efficient, no complaints there. The manager on the other hand was unprofessional and allowed her subordinates to come to work with blood on their faces and their hair down and still cook in the kitchen. She yelled at a young woman from across the store to see if the young lady was going to put something other than water in her water cup. It's understandable for a manager to do their job, if you didn't pay for a drink you shouldn't get a free one, of course. But the way she went about it was unprofessional, and it ruined the nice and quiet ambiance that there was. Panera is supposed be a relaxing place so people can eat and do their work in peace. As the manager, she should know that and she should put majority of the store first not a $2.99 drink, and creating a scene in front of a store full of people is very unprofessional. this place is a joke... stopped to get my kid a large mac and cheese... almost crashed the car when I pulled up and it was $9.29. I grabbed the bag and headed home. Got home... in the bag was a piece of bread just tossed in there... and a 2/3 filled cup of mac and cheese... what a joke .. I was working in the area and decided to get a coffee and bagel before work. Went in drive through. Sat for almost 6 minutes with only 2 cars. I asked if they put the cream and sugar in the coffee or do I? The answer I got was, "it doesn't matter." So a manager had to come on the microphone. I ordered a large hazelnut coffee with an Asiago bagel with light cream cheese. Not that hard right?! Nope. What I received was lukewarm regular coffee and a cold bagel; no cream cheese. I was never asked if I wanted it toasted either. The girl at the window looked miserable and half asleep and it showed with her attitude. Needless to say I won't be visiting anytime soon for my morning coffee any longer. Might try Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks where I know I'll be treated well and given the right order. read more

This specific panera is HORRIBLE! The managers are extremely unprofessional and childish. Groping on employees in front of other employees! They refuse to offer their benefits to the employees they "don't care for". An employee puked while i stopped in and the managers on duty did NOT send her home! Now i personally don't want to eat someone's puke so i was absolutely disgusted! This place is horrible. They treat their employees like complete crap. I've seen them drop cookies and pick them up for the customers to purchase! The management team at the Brunswick location is just awful! They cut hours when mad, target certain employees, and just seem to do whatever they want. I don't recommend this place to anyone. It truly embarrasses me. Bad customer service at drive thru by Michelle. I ordered a tuna sandwich, large Mac n cheese with a large iced tea. She asked to confirm if I ordered a large mac n cheese at the window with a very annoyed tone, I said yes she then in a very rude tone said "well I repeated your order and you never said anything" I said sorry then she slammed the drive thru door then while she was giving me my ice tea and card she said again in a rude tone "here's this" and then again when she gave me my food "here's this". That was it no thank you, have a nice day or sorry for the miscommunication.. I usually don't write reviews but I too have worked in the food service industry as a manager at a Dairy Queen and I can understand the job can be annoying/stressful but you should never let the customer see/hear your rude behavior. I felt very disrespected and awkward with my drive thru experience. Very disappointing, maybe she should take another training course on customer service. Also I was the only car in the drive thru it's not like there was a line down to the street... I hope a manager can talk to her about her attitude with customers. Check your order before you leave, especially if you order a salad that is supposed to have chicken on it. I used the drive thru and my chicken had no salad. I contacted the store and they offered to comp me if I printed out the email and asked for the manager. That sounds like a recipe for getting my food spit in. I was hoping for a gift card in the amount of the salad, that way I wouldn't stick out as a person with a complaint. But since they are a franchise, they don't seem to have that option. Also, the salads got so tiny? There is better value elsewhere. I would still stop for coffee in a pinch, but even that's pushing it. For $8.99, I can buy a couple tubs of Buckeye Lettuce from Buehlers and make myself a much bigger salad. read more
