I went through the drive thru around dinner time, the service and food was good. My only issue is that I requested no tomatoes on my panini, when I got home, a slice of tomato was running loose in the bag along with another slice on top of my receipt on the panini box. Can I give zero stars since I received zero service? Stopped in to this location for the first time this morning. Multiple employees scurrying about like ants on an anthill doing their best to ignore customers. One person at the counter punching in a carry out order like my 108 year old grandmother dialing a cell phone! She apologized for the wait between giggles of embarrassment (I hope) over her level of ineptitude. My request for someone else to assist at the counter was met with another giggle and a return to her focusing on an order for someone that wasn't even there! I turned and left with no coffee, no bagel, no lunch, and a very bad taste in my mouth. Ridiculous! read more

Panera Bread continues to deliver excellent food selections. I enjoy Summer salads which include strawberries. I really enjoy their Butternut Squash soup in the Autumn. I enjoy their sandwiches. I enjoy the Green Smoothies. Overall, you will never be disappointed. Excellent selection of high quality organic food. read more

She'll memorize your name and greet you in the most genuine manner. I order coffee almost every morning and she has the cup ready for me. This place sucks!!! It's not the food that sucks it's everything else. The customer service, the knowledge of the product and the overall attitude of the employees is a joke. We never go here and always go to the one in Algonquin but occasionally we have no choice and have to stop in to get our fix. We regret it every time and after today we will no longer go. read more

Having been to Panera Bread many times since I've moved to the Midwest, I was very excited to have a location closer to our home, being a healthier opinion than most other places I eat at, I'm pleased that this location is just as good as the others, maybe even better! They have a nice center fireplace that I'm sure will be fanatics come winter time, bathrooms are excellent, and as always good food and bakery items. A wonderful place to come and relax. read more

They ALWAYS mess up your order. Literally every time you go. Take the time to go to the Randall rd locations because you are going to waste your time and gas anyways going back and fourth. The managers don't care, they don't ask if everything is okay or to resolve the problem if they overhear you, they hide. Maybe they should offer your money back then they will start getting orders correct or maybe hire competent people. read more

Just went there tonight and ordered thru the drive thru. I ordered soup, four cheese grilled cheese sandwich, bagels and cookies. When I got home and took the food out the bagels were hard, the sandwich was basically bread with no cheese and the cookies were supposed to be on special but I was over charged. I've tried this place a number of times since they have opened. While I have been disappointed each time, I wait some months and then try again. No more. The service at this location is awful....always. The prices at this location are more than at others and Panera prices are ridiculous to start with considering the serving sizes and that it is soups, salads and sandwiches. The best thing they have there is frozen lemonade, which is still too expensive and available only for a couple months. There are many other choices in the area and I would try any of them first. For what I spent there this evening for soup, half a sandwich, a sweet, two bagels and cream cheese for later in the week, I could have had a real meal at even Red Lobster. $20.55 later and I am more disgusted than I can even say. This particular location is terrible. I have been there three times (don't judge, it's super close to my house and parking is better than the one on Randall) and every time has been disappointing. First time - Used the drive-thru. They had just opened and the lot was full of pot-holes. The food I received was ice cold. I have a literal 5 minute drive home so that was not the issue. I warmed it up and chalked it up to being newly open. It happens. Second time - I placed an online order to go. Walked in to get it, waited for almost 5 minutes and finally flagged down someone working there. Staff seemed more interested in chatting with each other. I got the food, went home. It was warm at least but my sandwich was swimming in chipotle sauce. I took a bite and tossed it. Third time - Two days ago I went to get my son a few dinner rolls (he likes rolls, what can I say?) and a coffee for me. The woman taking my order was too distracted by her co-worker that walked in after me. I paid, got the rolls, got the cup, filled my coffee went to pour some skim milk in and it was empty. Oh well, I can pour some in at home. Then I poured the coffee and it was full of grounds. So again I had to wait to find someone to help me as they were all in the back talking loudly and laughing. I explained the issue and she handed me another cup saying that the "first cup usually does that". Um no. I don't think it does. Not sure of the mechanism but I have worked at plenty of places and I can assure you the first cup of coffee should not have grounds in it. Nor should the last or any in-between. It's coffee! So she left and again I waited and finally someone else got me a new cup of coffee from the drive-thru area. That cup was fine. Rolls were stale though. Place is never tidy and the staff is so unprofessional. You can have fun at work and...oh...I don't know, actually...work. I felt like I was intruding just being there! I can honestly say I won't be back to this one - yes, no matter how close it is. Three strikes, I'm done. read more

Too many screw ups. I work really close to this location.. Online ordering and drive thru is super convenient, but always have to count on SOMETHING getting screwed up. I just picked up an online order, which was 5 minutes late, and when I got back to work i realized they forgot the side for my pick 2. It's frustrating when your order isn't correct especially when they are so expensive. Will probably be going somewhere else from now on! read more

After reading all the bad reviews about this place was nervous going in, but my daughter really wanted Panera. No line at the counter and service was great friendly and helpful. We were getting a to go order so I made sure to check that everything was correct and it was. Not sure if they have made some changes, but everything seemed on par to me. I like the food here but they are often out of things. If you order online, the website isn't always up to date about what they have in stock. Half the time I get there to find a note on my receipt that they are out of this, this and that. If the website was accurate I wouldn't order them in the first place. They probably give away a ton of food just to compensate for their screw ups on out of stock items. I can't ever seem to order the everything bagels either, they must sell out quick or they just don't make enough. Other than that the food is good. read more

Panera is always a safe bet. I like my usual and occasionally cheat and have a delicious cinnamon bagel. The service at this location has been prompt and friendly. I do find it to be a bit pricey but the food is always good. read more

Ridiculous service & ridiculous customer service! This is the worst Panera store you can find in the area. Literally, every time the order is wrong. I choose to avoid this store and use Algonquin and Hoffman Estates locations instead but those locations are not convenient, so we "risk it" sometimes with Carpentersville store. I've been patient until now but it's beyond my limits. Usually, I give them 30 minutes heads up for rapid pick up. Yet, we get there to pick up the order only to find out that there are no bagels in the store. Last time I ordered from them, I came back home empty handed becuase they did not have bagels and made me drive pointlessly to their store only to get a refund for breakfast. This time, they wrote a ridiculous message that they "owe me 4 bagels" and attached it to the bag. What is it? A kindergarten joke? Yes, they took the money. They have not even noticed that they did not pack the french baguette. When I called for the refund for the missing items, they denied it trying to make me drive to their location one more time (becuase this is the best thing people have to do on Sunday after their brunch is ruined). I called Panera corporate and they have put a request for refund of $4.95 but they don't know how long it will take becuase it's a franchise. Just be preprared that you will probably experience the same next time you visit because my orders are messed up EVERY time at this location. read more

the lady that took our order was very confusing and the menu in the drive through was torn down and the other side wasn't even lit up for us to read. we also ordered bacon mac and cheese which when we got back home was just plain and they told us the wrong total and took a long time to figure out what the new total was. we are also supposed to get a side of chips which we didn't. the food we did get was good but very disappointed in the customer service and the menu board. read more

This place is a joke compared to other Panera restaurants. We have been there twice and both times they messed up our order. The latest happened when I ordered a turkey and bacon sandwich. It came with no bacon. When I brought it back to the counter she first told me they had no bacon, then said they had just gotten some bacon in and she just handed me a couple slices that I took back to the table and put on my sandwich. Their claim on the receipt that they will give you a free treat for your trouble is also a joke here. Was never offered anything but some cold bacon for my trouble.
