When did Panera start literally shortchanging seniors because they don't have pennies? The cashier didn't even understand the term when I asked her to count back my Mom's change to her. Mom has loved Panera food, but she's finally done with that restaurant. The last straw for me was when my brother and his family took Mom there for dinner. After taking their order and their money, a manager told them they would have to take their food to go because of lack of seating. We live 30 minutes away and my mom cannot eat in a car. This Panera location is nice! Some reviews saying they are slow, probably was during the pandemic where they may had to lay off people, cause when we went it wasn't slow at all. The staff was okay not super friendly but not bad. Food was okay too . Took one star cause I think the other Panera locations I have been to had a bit tastier food. We went there and got soup , grilled cheese and a Roasted turkey with apples cheddar sandwich. We opened our meals and the cheese on the "grilled cheese" looked like it had been semi melted in the microwave and placed on the bread whole. The roasted sandwich bread looked like it had been chewed up and spit out in order make a sandwich out of it.Mind you we paid $33.59 for our meal. We were so disgusted so we proceeded to call the manager to return the food. He ended up refunding our money, but I wouldn't recommend this Panera's. I always love Panera - the food is great, and I am a member of the coffee club. I visit Panera Restaurants wherever I travel. One of the things I rely on is the internet speed. Like many of you, I count on having enough speed to do some quick work as I am beginning my day. EVERY Panera that I have been to has high speed internet ... except for this one. Download speed was 1.45 and the upload was 1.52. WAY too slow to get any kind of serious work done. I can't believe they have gotten by with this slow slow internet speed until now. We stopped at this Panera with three kids and another family who had two kids at about 8pm on Friday night. We ordered and got our food on a reasonable timeline BUT they were running behind on the Mac n cheese. We did have to ask to check on it... long story short they ran out! It was annoying but the manager did an amazing job letting us know what happened. He was super helpful and refunded the meal and offered grilled cheese. So the experience could have been awful trying to entertain kids waiting about triple the time for food but he made up for it accommodating. Overall this is a review of a great manager! read more

My wife took our 2 grandsons out for breakfast today and had a horrible experience with both the service and the product. She had ordered their meals and hers, along with coffee. Server: "I'm sorry, we're out of coffee, we're making some and I'll bring it right out!" THIRTY MINUTES later, still no coffee. Back to the counter, My wife: "Miss, I still haven't got my coffee and we're done eating!" Server: "I'm sorry, I'll bring it right out!" My wife: "OK I'd like cream and 2 Splenda" Server: "Sure, no problem!" Coffee arrived, black. My wife proceeded to fix it and leave only later to discover a cup full of grounds at the bottom. I will say, we usually use the drive-through and are somewhat accustomed to getting bagels that are burnt, but this experience even surpassed that. They need to remove all the processed added salt from their dishes! The Frontega Chicken is my favorite and go-to dish but taking in a whole day's worth of sodium is no good! We now know that fat is not the only killer we all were told. Sugar and processed white wheat, salt, them deals are the bad deal. Good to see Panera making efforts to improve ingredients. The modern and smart thing is being aware of ingredients, food processes, and nutrition especially in restaurants. But pretending to be better than the Golden Arches while hiding behind tons of salt and fat is a sad commentary on this restaurant. Besides that, the salads are great, expensive but great! This is a solid location easily accessible. Smart place to relax with a group or solo. online ordering it through the app is fantastic but I get confused with some applications offering a lot of coupons and promo codes but none of them ever seem to work. Wow. Saying I was disappointed by my experience at this Panera would be an understatement. First off, the packaging on my online order was more confusing to open than my accounting homework. The coffee I ordered was not only filled to the brim with ice, but it also was 99% cream and 1% cold brew. Once I got to finally open my order, there was minimal substance in the bowl. Was $10 and I might as well have scraped up the filth from my sink and not paid a dime. On top of this, they didn't have baguettes or arugula. What is panera bread with out the bread? Tomato soup, nothing better than canned! My turkey avocado was ok. Panera used to be much better. Two half sandwiches and a coup of soup tabbed out at $18! Longest time I have spent in a drive thru EVER in my life. Only 2 cars were ahead of me, thought I would be in and out. Nope. Took 3 min for them to take my order while I had to keep my window partially open so I could hear when they came back to take my order. Saw several cars leave bc of long wait. I mean, it gets the job done most of the time. It's a Panera; a standardized restaurant and so it's always been at least that. Coworkers of mine have had issues with the coffee not being refilled in the mornings and long wait times. I recommend buying online when possible, that way you just swing by and pick it up, don't even have to talk to anyone. The employees sometimes appear to not know much about the products. I am not sure why this place doesn't rate better? The food in this part of town is average chain food stuck in the middle of the shopping area of suburbia. Why do I like this place? My soccer team and I made a stop in Champaign on our way to our game to Rose Hulman in Indiana. We got to Panera at 8:50 and we didn't get our food until 10. We heard there was a health inspector, but we saw so many people get their foods and walking in and out of Panera. We had ordered our food ahead since there is a lot of us and we needed it as fast as possible. They kept telling us fifteen minutes, but we kept waiting and waiting. The key to success for these chain restaurants such as Panera is consistency. People visiting a fast casual restaurant like Panera are looking for fast service at an expected level of quality. Unfortunately, this location seems to have trouble in that area. Customer service at the counter is sometimes confused or slow, although items usually come out of the kitchen just fine. Visiting town and looking for a familiar place when I stumbled upon this near my hotel. I was so grateful to find it. Service was excellent. I came in just one step ahead of a giant high school swim team around 4pm. I saw the fear in the employees' eyes when they say them, but the whole team was seated with food in less than 15 minutes!! The wifi was very poor though, to be fair, I was sitting in the very back corner. The cleanliness could use some work - dirty tables. At the same time, the *patrons* should be picking up their trash. Have to agree with the other reviews for poor customer service here, which generally reflects management issues. I stop at Paneras all throughout IL and WI regularly while traveling for work, and the employees always have the same consistently pleasant, usually downright cheery attitudes.....except at this location. The girl who took my order was clearly not happy to be at work and never looked or spoke to me beyond telling me my total. This was after I actually had to ask if I could order with her... This is the only location I've been to where someone wasn't circulating to ask if they could take your dishes away for you. A lady with a cast on her leg was asked by another customer if she could take her food to her table for her....because certainly no employee offered to do so. Currently at this location they are having renovations so all your drinks have to be fetched by the employees. today there was only one employee behind the register taking care of new orders and drink refills, we stood in line while we heard the employee tell the manager she needed more pitcher refills. Check your order when going through the drive thru- they totally forgot my son's and he was not a happy camper. It's crazy to me that they forgot it considering they even had me pull up to wait for the order- a salad, sandwich and the forgotten grilled cheese (the only warm item in the order). If you're there to take a breather and collect yourself, avoid move-in week. Never again. Worst customer service experience. I came in to work on school work as the libraries were closed. I often come to Panera (though usually the one off Green) and have never been treated so poorly. Guess it's my fault for switching locations! I had been working in a booth, when I came in there were several large meetings going on around the larger tables, so choosing a booth away from them made sense, right? My father called me for a quick but important phone call. I'd been on the phone for less than two minutes when dear manager Mike Maloney decided it was appropriate to try to talk to me. I said "Excuse me I'm on the phone with my father can I speak to in a minute?" Of course this did not appease him so he chose to speak louder saying "I'm only going to ask you to move to a smaller table.." at which point I again said "Excuse me I will speak to you in a moment." As a paying customer first of all are you kidding me? I was here first. I'm quiet, working on my school work, not bothering anyone. I'm not loudly holding a conversation or holding a screaming toddler. All around me I see several people sitting at tables that made for more than one person, but clearly interrupting a phone quick call was appropriate. Autumn squash soup was good but the customer service sucked. I went through the drive through today at lunch. The drive through was crowded but it moved relatively quickly. I ordered my soup and when I get to the window, the window is open and the cashier is there, but she is talking to another employee or her boss about a card that was lost. They carry on for at least 30 seconds with the window open before acknowledging me at all. The cashier finally turns to me and without saying hello or anything, she gives me the price of the soup and holds her hand out. I give her my card and again, no thank you or anything. She gives me the card back and then hands me my soup. No "have a nice day", "thank you", or anything else. Panera's generally very good, but this location is... well, not. Today, I ordered a sandwich to go (the Asiago Steak, which is normally good) but asked for no horseradish or tomato. Lo and behold, when I get home... there's horseradish and tomato. This is after they gave me chips instead of the baguette I wanted, which I managed to catch. When you're paying $10 for a sandwich and a side, especially one made right there, I don't think that it's an unreasonable request to take off the condiments. If Subway will do it... Anyway, I've learned my lesson. read more

Horrible experience here. I ordered a flatbread sandwich. They were out of chips and the bread sides. All they had was an apple for a side. My mom and friend each ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a worker came out later to the table to say that they were out of that sourdough bread that normally came with it and is it okay to just put it on plain white bread. Wow. It came out and wasn't even toasted. Panera out of the good, fancy bread and chips! Ugh! They were unapologetic about it too. Somehow we were charged $30+ for 3 sandwiches with no sides and 1 drink. And, of course, the place was not clean either.
