I'd give them a five for food, but a 3 for customer service. Our cashier was Kellie jo and she was so polite and warm and friendly. She gets a 5! However, as we were standing in line, Robin was open at the cashier next to her and had no customers as she stood there and did not ask to help us while Kellie was busy with another customer. When it was our turn to be waited on by kellie, Robin then turned around and talked with another employee. Other than that, kellie needs a raise and i will come back, if she's working. Panera is usually where my wife and I go when we don't really know what we want, but this one was terrible. To start things off the staff was just kind of rude. Then, my wife wanted tea..there was no sweet tea so she decided to have unsweet. Unfortunately BOTH of the unsweet teas were just about empty. She got half a cup and wasn't able to get more till we were leaving. The place was also filthy! There were a ton of open tables, but not one clean table and no one was cleaning tables. We picked the cleanest one and wiped it off ourselves. Also, the floor was littered with trash. On our way out my wife was refilling her tea, since she never got a full cup to start with, and a worker was straightening out the condiments, nodded to herself about a job well done and left. She also left another complete mess as there was sugar spilled all over the place. We will not be back. read more

I haven't Yelped in a long time! I went through the drive through today and ordered ham and swiss with NO mustard add mayo. Their mustard has an overwhelming amount of horseradish in it. I can taste even the smallest miniscule of horseradish. If something is just sitting next to horseradish I can taste it. Anyway, apparently when they were making my sandwich they put the mustard on it and realized it wasn't supposed to have it so they decided to "save the bread" and scrape the mustard off and slap it together and send it on it's way. Oh and they forgot the mayo. Which really would not have made any difference because the sandwich was completely ruined! It was so sad. Perfectly good meat and cheese had to be discarded because it was tainted with horseradish mustard. I will never trust them again!!! read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I read all the terrible reviews & despite my better judgement still gave it a chance because I was craving a broccoli cheddar bread bowl now that the weather is cold. Got there at 6:30 pm & saw people eating bread bowls & went up to order where the girl working said they were out of bread bowls. I asked for extra bread then on the side of the broccoli cheddar & she said it would cost extra which I had no choice but to do. I asked her if they knew they had a 2/5 star rating online & she shrugged as if she didn't give a crap. Place was dirty. Do yourself a favor & pick another location or go somewhere else in general. Update to 10 minutes later lol they charged us for a bread bowl we realized & Justin the manager saw we were upset & gave us an upgraded Mac & cheese then sat down with us & apologized for everything. Avoid this Panera store at all costs. Every time I have visited this store I have been disappointed. Consistently out of ingredients. There will always be something wrong with your order. The store is dirty and poorly managed. Employees complaining and talking shit to each other within ear shot in the food prep area. This Panera sucks. Was really looking forward to a nice healthier meal. Me and my sister did curbside pickup. After 40 minutes of waiting AFTER receiving an email that our order was ready, we finally decided to go inside. They then brought our order right out when we specifically asked for curbside pick up and not in store pick up. One of the better Panera's in Illinois They have Apple Pay! Don't find that in many places even though Apple made it seem like it was the future. The girl behind the counter was friendly and efficient. The food came out fast and the soup was hot and delicious. I have been here 3 times and it's always a pleasant experience. Honestly - I am basing this location's rating from one experience. I have to. It was just the greatest. Went through the drive thru fairly late in the evening because they are the only ones who stay open so late on a Sunday. It was probably 30ish minutes to close. Ordered my usual pick two with soup and a 1/2 sandwich. When I got to the window, the very kind gentleman at the window advised that they were unfortunately out of the Tomato Basil bread that usually comes on my sandwich and asked if I would like the white bread or something else. Their bread is always good so this is fine regardless. I really don't mind whatsoever. The gentleman then hands me a receipt without my giving him my card to pay and he said this one's on us. What?! You didn't have to do that, Panera! I was more than happy to pay for my meal but they insisted because they didn't have any more of the normal bread for my sandwich. That's excellent service there. That one act will keep me coming back over and over again. read more

This national chain is going to save my life because it is probably one of the healthiest chains now available in most locales across America. I had the kale salad with the French Onion Soup. Yes, maybe the soup is a little salty - but hey, salt gives flavor. The kale salad is new and has the name ingredient, romaine, parmesan, some sort of little wafer-like crouton and chicken. They give a 1/2 lemon and simple olive oil for dressing. Delicious! Oh, and get the unsweetened Acai Iced Tea! Maybe they have new management, maybe I was there on a good night, maybe I'm not that critical... I don't know what the other reviewers are talking about... service was friendly and professional... and no Panera is quick, duh, it's considered slow fast food just like 5-Guys and some other relatively new chains, you have to wait 5-10 minutes for your food because they make it to order. When you expect that and you see they are especially busy, I suppose 15 minutes could happen. I don't know. I had a good experience here and I enjoyed my meal. Meh. Every time I go here, I regret it because I somehow end up paying $10 for a half sandwich and small salad. A meal I can make myself for a couple bucks. None of them stand out to me either. I've had good experiences here with the staff but they were out of the sandwich I've ordered on more than one occasion. Very, very short staffed. The past couple of times I have gone here, service has been terrible and I had to stand there and wait for 45 minutes for a mobile order. The poor girl at the register was receiving no help and the line was out the door, while the manager was just standing there. He was doing nothing to jump on another register. Panera is usually a pretty reliable place to stop when traveling, but this location left much to be desired. The person who waited on us was not friendly at all; a smile or a "hi" would have been nice. The food wasn't up to par, either There was one small dot of chipotle mayo on my Sierra turkey; guess they were rationing condiments that morning. The pricing structure on the You Pick Two has changed, now each thing is individually priced . Our lunch was over $18; we drink water.....pretty pricey for a half sandwich with a salad or soup. The worst Panera I have ever been to. One of the worst places in the C-U. We went there to get some bread, and stood in line for 5 minutes while receiving awkward looks from their employees. No one came to help us or take our order. There must have been at least 10 employees standing around, doing absolutely nothing, ignoring us. Who knew that if you ordered a breakfast item during breakfast hours and it wasn't already prepared, you couldn't order it? My husband and I went for breakfast one day arriving at 8:30am. I ordered the 4-cheese soufflé only to be told they were out of those (all flavors of soufflés for that matter) and weren't making anymore. Okkkkk so I then proceeded to order a Bacon/egg/cheese sandwich on Brioche. Guess what? They were out of those too and not going to make anymore. I was in line for a salad when a woman behind told the cashier there were numerous flies sitting on the cookies and pastries, the cashier looked at her confused and said "Okay." The prospective customer then said "Ma'am, they're all over the cookies... look..." as she pointed to the flies sitting on the cookies. The cashier then says "I'll let the baker know." She then took 2 orders including mine, and never told "the baker." I understand flies in a place of business are out of their control, I currently have a fly flying around the office right now... but I sat down and ate my salad, and noticed that the cookies and pastries were never taken down or thrown out. I generally like Panera bread. Specially their pick 2 option. This time was the first time I tried their salad though. And it was terrible. I got some chicken lime salad with Avacado (can't remember the exact name) but was awful. Lettuce tasted old. The chicken was just partially shredded boiled pieces thrown in there. I used to like Panera , mainly for the Salads and Soups. But recently the Silverware has been dirty. The dining room seems to be dirty everytime I come in and as for the food, the soup bowels are never full. Why pay $6 for a bowel of soup when the bowel is bigger than the portion of soup.? And the Cashiers are young and stand around and talk to each other and half the time aren't there to wait on you. One time I was in there one cashier was so excited to see on of her managers, she actually hugged him in front of customers. That was in the front dining area, and that certain manager is always looking at young women and making comments. I have heard him. Disgusting. I will never go back there. read more

Great locale, good service. My only issue is the table tops...too dirty. I stopped in during the lunch hour and had difficulty finding a clean table without crumbs. The food was well prepared. I tried their new Southwest chicken salad. I enjoyed it...great taste! The cleanliness needs improvement. Also, they need to stock more chocolate chip muffies. Turns out Panera no longer carries the Tomato and Basil Panini, so I ordered the Tomato Panini Flatbread. Taste-wise, it's ok. A bit bland, but not something I'd order again. That's a bummer because Panera already has extremely limited options for a strict vegetarian. Their vegetarian menu lists that they don't draw distinctions between vegetarian and non-vegetarian cheeses. The problem I had is mostly the flatbread is a leaky mess. As I held it, it was a constant drip of grease. I picked up the flatbread and on the plate it left a puddle. This isn't what flatbread is supposed to do. What's more is the location is a bit below what I come to expect from Panera. I only found 3 napkin dispensers, and every one of them was empty. When I had been looking for a booth to sit and work at, most were empty, but covered in crumbs and some had dirty dishes on them for quite a while. The floor across from where I sat was missing a panel and the adjacent panels were upturned. There were visible crumbs in sections of the carpet. The location didn't seem particularly busy either. I'm mostly just sad at them retiring a good sandwich and replacing it with a bland and leaky one. read more

My family and I love Panera and get meals to take home at least twice a week. However, I never feel comfortable leaving without first checking every single item because every time something is wrong or missing. In the past two weeks alone we have had the following problems: Missing or incorrect side items, bagel not sliced as requested, bean soup instead of potato, and last night, THREE salads ALL with NO dressing! Would it kill them to get a to go order right just once?? Good food when it's right, but I shouldn't have to ask for my order to be made correctly every time.
