I like the new "flatbread" "pizza" and you can combo it with something like this turkey chili!

Almost every Panera is similar -- that's how chain restaurants work. Tucked away into a now less-used shopping lot (there was once a grocery store here but now there's not) the back-door "patio" seating is quite nice in the afternoon sun, even -- maybe especially -- on a lovely Carolina Blue January day.

Love Panera Bread but this location started off on the wrong foot from the first step in the door. The store is in a strip that appears newer. Parking is either off road l, or in their parking lot. If parking off road there was no door visible to me. The lot was tidy on a weekday morning visit. My son and I walked in to two employees in the bakery area and one assisting at the cash register. I said good morning as I walked in which fell on deaf ears with them staring at me. We got to the counter which had no wait and no staff. After a minute someone arrived. I ordered an iced caramel coffee and sausage egg sandwich. My son ordered a strawberry smoothie and bacon egg sandwich. We attempted to checkout with a gift card that was on the app. However, after several attempts and the staff requiring a pin it would not work. Another employee said the pin was not necessary. After several attempts she could not process. So I paid with my credit card to little apology. The dining room was clean and drinks with food were out in less than 10 minutes. The sandwiches were hot and ok. We both liked our drinks and I definitely would get the coffee again. After finished we bussed our own table and the trash area was clean. The service at this store was a failure. The food ok and drinks tasty. 2.5 rounding down. The general manager needs to come in and train staff. The Panera Gift Card was properly installed on the app and pin not required.

This is the best Panera in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. The place is clean, the employees are friendly, and the food is consistent. I've had them deliver my lunch a few times with no issue. Like other Panera's though, it is always packed.

Chicken noodle soup in bread bowl

Pleasant Panera experience per usual! I haven't been feeling well so I got the chicken noodle soup in bread bowl and it was warm and delicious! The member who took my order was flexible and understanding when I immediately changed my side order from bread to a bag of chips once I reconsidered all the bread I was getting. There was plenty of seating around dinnertime on a weekday though a couple tables were not clean when I was looking for a table. The line was very short and the bathroom was clean!

Ordered the pick 2 Asian sesame salad and the steak panini. Food was great though the Panera itself was not that clean

Fall squash soup and soba noodle bowl

Recently visited for a late lunch on a Monday. It was busy but not massively so. On recommendation, I tried the fall squash soup (think butternut squash) and it was delicious. I also tried the soba noodle bowl with edamame and it was decent. After placing our orders, the clerk told us to take our numbered buzzers to our seats and they would deliver our food to us. That's the first time I've experienced that at a Panera. This is still probably my favorite fast-casual chain.

Napa Almond Chicken Salad? More like just dry pieces of chicken.

I usually love Panera bread. I don't go often but seems like something is not up to par every time I try this location. Tonight they tried to pass dry pieces of chicken as Napa Almond Chicken Salad.

We arrived around noon on a busy beautiful Sunday! There's plenty of seating both inside and on their outdoor wrap around patio. Foster's has an old rustic charm, kind of like a general store but on a larger scale. So, you order at the counter with one of their many staffers, they call your name when it's ready if you ordered to go, or they walk around to the tables calling out your name if you choose to dine there! I had the Farm Plate, which was 2 eggs your way, a meat, their famous herb biscuit and your choice of grits or potatoes. I chose scrambled hard with cheese eggs, chicken sausage patties and cheese grits. It was just ok. The food was good, not like OMG! My friend had the Breakfast Burrito and it was again, just ok. They have a variety of options to choose from. Maybe we just picked the most basic ones. Nothing is out of the ordinary. Everything looks delicious and we really should have tried a dessert, but didn't. I would go back to give them another chance, but I'm not rushing. They have local goods, like honey, jams, chocolates, sauces for sale as well as wine and lots of other goods. It's super family friendly and a great place to sit and enjoy someone's company or your own, o just didn't have a spectacular experience.

As you enter there is a sign that tells you to go look at the menu board, pick out your drink, and go back to the counter to order. I grabbed a diet coke, and ordered a Common Cobb. I was a bit surprise when my total came to $18, as my salad was only $14 but I guess I should have paid attention that my bottle of soda was over $3. How much are the fountain drinks, I wonder? I found us a table inside since it was a bit hot that day (there is also plenty of seating outside AND inside if you go downstairs). The table and floor were messy but someone quickly came to clean it for me. They called our names over the loudspeaker and my best friend went to go get our food. She got the MotherClucker. Our food was REALLY good. If you like Cobb salad, you will definitely like this one. The chicken was pan seared perfectly, the vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and the bleu cheese was especially excellent. My friend's chicken sandwich has SO MUCH chicken salad on it. Impressive. There was so many neat items to see in the place. The murals were great, there were some cute retail spaces, a coffee bar up front, a bar downstairs, and ice cream outside! Unfortunately my bestie and I had too much to talk about so we didn't check it out as much as I otherwise wood. I would definitely try this place again!

The place was packed on a Monday at lunch (but it was Memorial Day). You check out the menu, then get your chips and drink and pay at the register, then they call your name at the counter when your food is ready. They have a great assortment of drinks- soft drinks, sparkling water, ollipop, kombucha, also alcoholic drinks downstairs. They have a separate coffee bar and ice cream window, as well. We got sandwiches and fries. The fries were nice and hot, but needed salt- I'd probably skip them and go for chips in the future. The sandwiches were nice and not too expensive for 2025 lol. I had to add some condiments to mine, but that's definitely better than having them use too many condiments and not be able to eat your sandwich. My husband enjoyed his sandwich too (and added more condiments). The ambiance is really cool. If you sit upstairs you have a great view of the whole place and you can people-watch. The cashier was very nice and explained to us how everything worked. There was also someone who came around to check on us after we'd gotten our food, so that was nice to feel like staff/management care that you're having a good experience. Would definitely go back!

Yelp told me this delicious sandwich shop was just 5 minutes away, which seemed like the perfect option. I've been going to this particular location at New Hope Commons for more than a decade now, not as frequently as before, but not rarely, and I notice there seems to be a slight downgrade when it comes to their food quality in recent years. I remember when in my first visits in Jason's Deli, every time I ordered a Reuben, the cashier would ask if I'd want regular or baked chips and my choice of side (usually I get French Onion soup, a fruit cup, or a side salad), but in my latest visit, I was not asked any of those. And what happened to the pickle dill that they usually include with the sandwich? Jason's Deli doesn't put that anymore. Yeah, sure you can get it from the Salad Bar, but it's usually included on your sandwich plate. I also prefer baked chips over regular, so when I got the regular chips I was slightly disappointed. I usually order the full Original Reuben (Corned Beef, not Pastrami) sandwich but they also have Manager's Special which comes with half of any sandwich of your choice + a cup of soup, which is not a bad combo for a slightly cheaper price. While the amount of beef in my latest visit was good, the Reuben in my sandwich tasted a bit cold as if it wasn't heated enough. The amount of kraut was good, and the Thousand Island dressing in the sandwich was fine. However, one corner of the rye bread was soggy, leaving me disappointed as I pondered how better Jason's Deli used to be. Jason's Deli's salad bar is decent with a good variety of toppings, cheeses, and dressings you can add. You'll have to pay additional if you want to add protein though. I tried having chicken breasts in the salad, and it tasted okay. You can get the Side Salad added to your sandwich order for about $6 or if you want a bigger plate, you can get the Garden Fresh Salad Bar for about $11.45. Both options are fairly price. They also have other specialty salads I haven't tried, so if you enjoy eating salads, you might enjoy Jason's Deli. Fettuccini Alfredo is not bad but not great. Don't expect it to be like Carabba's; it's a cheaper pasta but fairly priced; it comes with chicken and two pieces of bread, sauce is creamy enough. Chicken quality is better than its Italian neighbor, NY Pizza at New Hope Commons. My girl also enjoyed the penne with meatballs and marinara sauce. I also tried their wraps a few times such as the Ranchero Wrap, which is a Mexican-style wrap Southwest spices. Wraps and most of the foods in their menu are healthier than an average fast food chain. They also have a good variety of typical soups like Broccoli & Cheese, French Onion, Chili, and some Noodle Soups, so overall, menu items are what you'd expect from a deli chain. This Jason Deli location is at the center of New Hope Commons, close to the bus stop where many homeless people wait, and at one time, I saw a couple of them freely enter the restaurant without paying for food, and just eating the complimentary ice cream Jason Deli has for its customers. This is probably why they put coded locks for the bathroom doors: To prevent non-customers from accessing them. Overall, place looks spacious enough, even if it could get packed during Sunday lunchtime. Jason's Deli's soda machine and sweet tea options are convenient. Sweet teas are freshly-brewed, and fantastic with lemon. The complimentary soft-served ice cream (vanilla, chocolate, or a mix of both) with the small cones or cup is nice but at one of our more recent visits, the ice cream machine was down. Food was served fast, and someone brings it to your table, and someone also cleans them up, so overall, customer service is fine. The main reason we go to a Jason's Deli is for the Great Reuben, which is sadly, no longer great; hopefully, management will be able to improve overall quality of it. Back in the day, I used to have lunch breaks here every time I hang out in the Barnes & Noble nearby. It's still the best place to get food in this New Hope Commons shopping area but that's not saying much since there's not a lot of other options here: There's a NY Pizza place, a Subway inside Walmart, a Philly Steak spot that seemed to have shut down, so I'm thankful that there's still a Jason's Deli here.
