I came home after a late night bike ride, and found a coupon for a large pizza in my mailbox. I decided to take a chance, and ordered from Marco's before they closed at midnight. I drove over the few minutes to their place and spoke to one of the managers, who quickly rang me out. I got home to a piping hot, perfectly hot pie that was exactly what I was hoping for. A thing of beauty, with nicely placed pepperoni discs, just the right amount of cheese, and a spicy sauce over the chewy dough. It was a beautiful experience. I have ordered from this location for years. As a matter of fact, I've stopped ordering from any other pizza joint. However, my last 3-4 orders have been touch and go. Today, I go in for a second slice that I ordered last night. I find a straight brown hair stuck between my slices. Wow! I'm totally done now. My absolute last order from this location and maybe all Marco's locations for that matter. Do better! Take more pride in food hygiene and cleanliness. Wear hairnets, wash your hands, change gloves, and stop putting sauces in with the food, unless they are wrapped. read more

One star is too generous. The food was not only incorrect but inedible. Ordered a veggie pie with mushrooms, onion, tomato, black olives and banana peppers. Got a cardboard apparatus with canned mushrooms, onion and tomato. No black olives or banana peppers which I paid extra for. The boneless chicken wings were also disgusting. They were dark meat chicken nuggets with gristle. Last time I checked chicken wings were white meat. I paid $36 for that garbage. And that's with an Uber $15 discount!! read more

I've ordered numerous times from this Marcos store and never had an issue,....until Friday,June 9. I submitted an order for pizza and wings at 5:30 for 7pm delivery. Not only did they NOT deliver the pizza, they asked me several times, "You didn't get your pizza?!". They first tried to say it was for pickup however my email receipt shows my delivery fee and delivery address. I submitted the order at 5:30 !?!. The person on the phone "Rodney" said to call if it's not there in 20min. It's 8pm, no pizza, no nothing. *Update* I called back to cancel the order. The person said yes, it's canceled! My wife and I order Dominoes. Marcos pizza order shows up at 8:30. Dominoes delivers 5 min later. So what do I rate this experience? *UPDATE*Received a call from a "DJ" who claimed he was the general manager of the store in question who had left a message to call him to "discuss" the situation. Coming from Chicago I consider the Triangle a pizza desert when it comes to good pizza. While Marco's, which is from OH, isn't a great substitute it's definitely a step up. I had a sausage, mushroom, onion & green pepper on a thin crust and it was pretty good. The toppings were ample, the sausage was meaty with a bit of spice to it, and the sauce had a good tang to it. The thin crust held up well with the amount of toppings without getting soggy and they cut it in squares as requested. For a little over $12 with a coupon it was a deal for a large. I did a pick up and the staff was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely try it again. read more

"Clank"! "Clank"! "Clank" Do you know what sound that is? That's the sound of the yelp stars hitting the floor. Our first visit was awesome. Quality of pizza here is on top of the pizza chain, chain. Granted, the regional manager was working there that night and this place was on point. Little does he know, when he's not there, all hell breaks loose. The 2nd visit... Not so good. Antonio, who took our order, is fantastic! The problem is, when he leaves, and the regional manager leave, the rest of the kitchen laugh when the skinny white guy with glasses starts talking about taking advantage of the elderly when delivering their pizza and adding their own tips. We probably shouldn't be hearing that. If that wasn't enough he converses with another short white chick telling her "you f***d up" when referring to an order that she took over the phone. Zero class. And if that wasn't enough, they never told us our pizza was ready, so we sat there for 45 mins while it got cold. It took Antonio to return from a delivery to see us sitting there and when his mouth hit the floor, he apologized, threw in a 2 liter for the inconvenience and saved a star. Wake up. Snap out of it. You killed what would had been 5 stars. 2 stars because there are only 2 star people here that I've identified that can save this staffing disaster. read more

I ordered a pizza tonight and it was left on the floor outside my door with the box open. There was also a slice missing when I opened the box. When I spoke to the manager he was not apologetic at all. He said he knew all the drivers and that it was probably someone in my neighborhood that did it. I have a camera at my door and I clearly saw the driver leave it. Again, the manager did not apologize until I basically asked him if he was going to. Also, he said I could get a credit or have someone else make a new one, but it would take a while and "that's all I have to say about that." Great service here with these guys. John... the guy making the pizzas was so freaking nice. My first time here and they don't sell any drinks that aren't carbonated. You have to purchase a big jug of a 2liter for the Punch. Because I don't drink carbonated drinks John discounts me a fruit punch. When I received it it was a bigggg 2liter. I was smiling. Visit 3: Last night we wanted to splurge on pizza and wings and Marco's Pizza did not disappoint!! We ordered thin crust pepperoni and green peppers and thin crust bacon and mushroom. The bacon and mushroom was my favorite! The thin crust had a firm and crispy bottom, no soggy mess yay! We ordered two kinds of wings: hot and barbecue. They gave us plenty of sauce which is just how I like it and the wings were nice and meaty! They included a baked brownie but we were so full we couldn't even take a bite of dessert last night! I recently got some pizza here and was pleasantly surprised. When I see branded marinara and other sauces, I generally think chain/poor-quality a la Little Caesar's and others. Marco's was a nice stand-out in that regard, with tasty pizza and crust, fun sauces, and good cheesy bread. Not great in the way a neopolitan pizza spot is, or tasty in the way a local pizza joint is - this is and tastes like a chain option - but exists at the top of that category. If I could give 0 starts I would. I placed my order for a pizza, wings and cheesey bread. I go home and open my food, as I pick up my chicken I see that there is a hair. I immediately throw away my wings and call up to the store, a nice young lady picked up the phone an assured me that they can remake me a fresh order of wings. I go back in my car and head to the store, I told the cashier that I was here for my remake. I was then met by an EXTREMELY rude man named "Carlos". I work in customer service myself and Carlos was absolutely HORRIBLE. He was extremely rude, cut me off mid conversation multiple times. He told me that I needed to bring in my wings to get them remade. I showed him the picture and he said I need to bring them, I tell him that the associate who took my phone never told me that. He was so rude and told me that would be getting free food. Free Food??? I just paid almost $40 for the order I originally placed. His comment was extremely offensive. This was a waste of my gas and time. I will NEVER EVER order from here again. I'm so upset I don't even want to eat the pizza and cheese bread that I bought and paid for. In the beginning about two years ago I thought Marcos was the best thing in the world. Marcos has gradually and consistently gone downhill since I first moved to Durham. From receiving too many halfway cook pizzas to Marco's completely forgetting that I ordered the pizza but they have my money is a real tragedy. I rate Marco's one star and if I could i would rate them a zero just because of their customer service nowadays and making sure that they get the right order to me. Please don't be food by some of their customer ratings because the only way to get free cheesy bread is to give them a five star rating when you're doing the questionnaires on there website after purchasing the pizza. When we want a quick pizza this is our new spot for being on the cheap (a large one topping pizza for $8, if their opening special lasts). We find the cheesy bread soft and chewy. I really like the marinara sauce that comes with it. So far we have had the pepperoni several times, and it's pretty delicious. read more

I hardly ever order pizza from take-out only places. When I do it's usually Pappa J's, but I decided to give Marco's, the new kid on the pizza block a try. I ordered a large "pepperoni magnifico" pizza which had both the "old world" style pepperoni and traditional. They definitely didn't skimp on the pepperoni. There was plenty of it, like covering the whole pizza. Of the two types of pepperoni, I liked the "old world" pepperoni better. They are smaller and crispier than traditional pepperoni. I also liked the sauce. The crust I thought was a little bland. I had ordered the butter/garlic crust topping, but either they forgot to brush it on the crust or I just couldn't detect it. Over-all a good experience. I think I still prefer Pappa John's and definitely Randy's over Marco's, but I am willing to go back and try some more choices at Marco's(for example their subs or wings). I will adjust my review accordingly when I do. They seemed to be doing a booming business when I went. read more

First time ordering, delivery was quick, I will give them that. The pizza was not so great. We ordered a meaty one with bacon on it and the bacon was sooo tough and chewy, we couldn't eat it. It was awful. The sauce and flavor was unremarkable. The crust was tough and chewy. We also ordered cheese bread and it wasn't cooked through properly. There was a bit of raw dough in the middle area of the cheese sticks. Not appetizing at all. Even the cooked parts lacked any real flavor. The chicken wings were the "best" part of the order however there are places near us that deliver that do their wings 100% better. These from Marcos were big and plump however they were also pretty soggy. Some people might like soggy wings, but I prefer mine to be more crisp. The hot sauce was good and spicy. Won't bother ordering again. What a shame. PS the place across from them next to Dunkin Donuts, even though they don't deliver, their pizza was much better if you're searching for a "non-chain" style pizza I would go there instead. read more

It's just alright. I'm dogsitting in this part of town and wanted to try something new, so I chose Marco's. It was late, I was about a block away and seemed like it'd be the quickest option. Didn't realize it was a national chain until after I had committed. And stepping inside, it feels like "just another chain restaurant"--- a cheap one at that. Just wanted to throw that out there for people like me who are trying to find something a bit more unique. As far as the food goes, like I said, it was aight. Had the Italian sandwich. This is a great spot to get some good pizza and I'd really recommend trying the cheesy bread. As far as delivery pizza joints go this is one of my favorites, I would defiantly pick this place over the regular pizza joints (Pizza Hut and Dominoes). I use to frequent another Marco's a few years back and I am pleased to say they have held up in the quality of their pizza. It was 8:45 on a Sunday night and I was desperately craving some good, hot pizza. My sister had previously recommended Marco's as a superior option over Randy's for delivery, so I grabbed their menu and decided to give them a call. FYI, their minimum delivery is $8. I am insanely boring and not creative, so I ordered a small cheese pizza. They have fancy, free crust add-ons, but I thought it best to stick to the original. The woman on the phone was very nice, and informed me that it would be around 30-40 minutes. I settled in to do some sewing, and hardly fifteen minutes later, we got a phone call. The extremely courteous delivery driver was standing outside of our screened porch, but felt uncomfortable entering in to reach our front door. I thought this was extremely polite of him. Now...on to the pizza. I've had all kinds of pizza in my life. Thin-crust, Chicago style, cheap delivery, high-end bistro...this pizza was just fine. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but it hit the spot. Inexpensive, and just what I needed. The crust in particular was nice and "bready".
