I arrived at the Panera Bread on 950 County Route 64 one bitter January evening, hoping to warm up with my favorite Pick 2 order -- a cup of broccoli cheddar soup and 1/2 chipotle chicken avocado melt. I could not have expected the sort of treat I was in for. Now, I'm no stranger to this establishment, but no regular either. The food is hard to beat, but until now I can't say that I've had an especially noteworthy experience. As another reviewer stated in a less than glowing review I saw, "it is hard to mess up Panera." I'd come in, have my meal, and hit the rickety road. That is to say, everything was standard fare. As I've already mentioned, this particular evening I entered the establishment, made my purchase on one of the self-service kiosks and moseyed on over to Table 40, where I enjoyed a lovely view of a nearby pond with my meal. In record time, a young man brought me my order, addressing himself as my "Kiosk Ambassador, Timothy DiBella." That just cracked me up! I munched on my food in between Twitter updates and welcome check-ups from Timothy, during which we would exchange banter until my departure. I haven't experienced customer service this friendly and welcoming in a LONG time, I can say that much. As for my food, it was perfect. The familiar broccoli cheddar is never off-beat, and my chicken melt was toasted just enough to provide a satisfying crunch, without ever seeming crumby or hard. It was sublime. If, reading this, one feels like food this good has no business being served in a chain restaurant, I would be in agreement. Absolutely shocked at the quality here tonight. I asked Emily, a lobby girl in the process of sweeping, if she could identify the employee who had made my food, and pointed to a man named David, who I would personally thank before leaving for making me the greatest soup and sandwich I have ever had at a Panera Bread establishment. As for Emily, there was not a moment I didn't notice her active in some form of cleaning during my stay. The lobby looked so clean I felt as though I could take off my shoes and walk around it in my bare feet without worry (though, of course, I didn't!) Not sure what changed around here, but this restaurant has gone from "acceptable" to "exceptional," real quick. Wonderful store, staff is very friendly and service moves right along. I especially like the wait staff that has served on me when I go there for breakfast. However even at peak times they keep moving and are friendly. The food is good quality and you can't beat their baked goods. read more

Salad was good, soup was good. Ordered online and expected perfection. got the order home and it was missing many items, had to call them to let the manager know that we were missing items. this is not the first time items were missing from our orders at panera. So all in all the food is always great, the workers putting the meals together need to get retrained read more

I'm always hesitant to go because I just feel like it's too pricey for what it is. I had a sandwich that came with chips and a drink and my husband did a 1/2 salad/ soup you pick 2 combo and a drink and it was $24. The sandwhich wasn't anything special and was on just plain white bread. No stand out flavor and the turkey kept falling out. My husband has a salad with ginger in it and that was delicious! I definitely had buyers remorse. The staff is super friendly but I still can't justify the prices for the quality. read more

Always great food and fast service! Had the strawberry chicken poppy seed salad today. Had a reward of $2 off any salad. This is my favorite salad! Fresh strawberries, blueberries, pineapple and mandarin oranges. The Horseheads Panera's is top notch! read more

My 15 year old daughter chose to come here for her birthday. It was my first time eating at a Panera, I was skeptical at first. The staff were all super nice, the food came out in like five minutes. Everything tasted good. The floor was pretty dirty though, hopefully that's a rarity. Cost just over $20 for us to get full. I'll be back read more

I was so disappointed by this Panera Breads. My sister ordered a Frozen Mocha and I just got an asiago bagel. As we were waiting for the drink, the barista or whatever they are called making the drink knock it over. He thought that he would be nice by giving me the drink and he would make my sister another one. First I want to say that was nice of him to offer me a free drink, however I didn't feel like having a frozen drink. Then as we left, my sister mentioned that he had a band-aid on his hand. I mean as a food server he should have gloves on as a food and health safety. So I was going to eat my bagel, I noticed a little white hair and I was so grossed out. We both throw out our food and drinks because we were not happy with it anymore. I never had so many problems at Panera breads but lately they haven't been living up to their standards.
