I was out shopping and just happened to see this place across the street at the time when I was realizing I was a bit hungry. I love a good cheesesteak, so checked out the menu online and decided to place an order for pick-up. I like that you can order small versions of the cheesesteaks, and it worked out well because there were two that I couldn't decide between (an old school cheesesteak and a Kentucky bourbon cheesesteak). I ordered smalls of both and also a strawberry lemonade with lite ice. By the time I was done with my last errand, it was time to pick up my order. I got to the location, walked in and picked up my order from the takeout rack, and was all set - easy peasy. The cheesesteaks themselves were both quite tasty, and the strawberry lemonade hit the spot with its little bits of strawberries at the bottom. TL;DR. Certainly not the same as you'd get in Philly itself, but appeases the craving when you're around town and looking for a good 'ol cheesesteak. read more

I liked this place for a quick bite. Went with the Philly Cheesestake with peppers and onions. I passed on the lettuce and tomato because that just doesn't seem right on a cheesestake to me. I like eating at Charley's Grilled Subs, which are mostly located in mall food courts across the country. This enclosed plaza restaurant location offers the same menu as the mall locations, which includes a good variety of Philly steak, chicken, and deli subs, as well as fries (gourmet options too), chicken strips, salads, wraps, and self serve Coke fountain drinks, lemonade & iced tea (not found at the food court locations). The prices here are fair, most subs ($5.49-$6.19 reg/$7.99-$8.49 large). Make it a combo and add original fries and drink for $2.79 more or add gourmet fries and drink for $3.79 more. On Super Tuesdays, large subs are $6.99 and Wednesdays are double punch day (sub card). The place is order and pay first and the food is grilled and made to order. This location has ample booths and tables, but the booth seats could use some TLC (vinyl was cracking). While shopping around Big Flats, I decided to stop for a quick dinner at Charley's Grilled Subs in Consumer Square. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Sub (reg size) Combo ($6.99 special) with reg size original fries and Diet Coke fountain drink. The food was made to order on the grill as I was chugging down ice cold Diet Coke (free refills!). The food I had was very tasty. The chicken teriyaki sub had soft pieces of tangy chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions, & peppers on a toasted sub roll. The golden fries (fresh cuts) were hot and crisp outside. Takes a ridiculously long time to get your food.. I waited in line for 10 minutes before they even started cooking my food. The poor guy was making everyone's sandwiches while the other employees chatted for a while... this place is managed very poorly. They also forgot to give me my drink (it wasn't even filled all the way when I finally asked for it), tomatoes tossed on the side of my sandwich with some brown ass lettuce, and the fries weren't cooked long enough. They're soft and gross. The only redeeming quality is your food is hot when you get it half an hour later. But who cares about scalding hot dry sandwiches and soggy fries when you're late getting back from your lunch break?! Get it together Charley's!!!! read more

The food is good for the price. I had the bacon three cheese. I wanted mayo, which is placed on the edge of the roll, after the meat Is placed on the bread, so basically you get mayo all over your hands and not so much on the sandwich. The fries were fresh-cut (not a favorite because they become soggy too quickly) but these were hot and crispy. The lemonade was also good, not too sweet. The combo meal sand, fried, drink was $10.26 My biggest beef (pardon the pun) was the time It took: 18 minutes from order to sandwich on my plate. This is ridiculous for a sandwich that takes TWO minutes to make. The problem seems to be that the grill cook is only capable of making one sandwich at a time. The grill is easily large enough to prepare 4-6 orders at once, but that is not how items done here. What makes it even more frustrating is you just stand there watching the guy: meat on the grill... Wait... Chop...Wait... flip...Wait...Chop...Wait...cheese...Wait... Placed on bread...Wait... next sandwich.. Yikes! read more

If there was negative stars this would have a negative 5. Very disappointed. Very sloppy service tuesday 6:00 pm ordered Large 3 cheese. Sm. 3 cheese.and a Reg. Buffalo chicken extra pickle. Cook had a hard time getting meat off the wrapper. With all 3 subs. Threw most of the meat out.. meaning there was very! little! meat any of the subs.. asked for more but was told they can only put certain amount on.. even though THEY threw most of the meat out! As it was all stuck to the wrapping.. The regular sub was the only one with toppings... they first mixed it up and put toppings on the small sub.. when told it was wrong they corrected it by moving toppings to regular sub..not getting new bread for either. And not adding additional toppings from small to regular sub. So basically I recieved 3 small subs and a lot of bread.. and "extra pickles" means you get one slice on the sub. Asked for ketchup packets for the 3 cheese steaks was given 1 packet.. I understandyou just reopened. But no one was in the store.. I'd hate to see u busy! Worst experience there by far. When complained in store we were told theirs nothing they can do. No management was on that night to call in the next day.. have yet to speak to a manager. Called in 4 times.. wont go there for a LONG time if ever. Wont recommend to anyone. Unless they like sloppy made subs and with a lot of bread!! read more

My wife and I have been here many times now. It's a go to for a quick meal, ok price but great food. Your meal is cooked in front of you and made to order what is not to like here? This place has great subs but they really need to be more efficient. They have a good sized grill but only make one sub at a time. They could easily make several but for some reason do not. If there is a line more than just a couple people and you're in any type of hurry or have a time limit don't go. We have also tried to stop a few times lately during the week for dinner and they have been closed! The subs are good. Some of the booths could use updating. They also need to clean the credit card machine. I don't know why but I always notice this there and it is FILTHY. I try to pay in cash now.
