I love Panera. It is by far my favorite deli chain. Places like Subway have pretty much the same prices for a sandwich, but the quality of their bread does not even compare. When I go I usually either get the chicken noodle soup (which comes with a big hunk of delicious bread) or a sandwich on whole grain bread. All of the breads that I have tried are great. I believe they also sell their bread by the loaf. Bread is always fresh and amazing. It is also a nice touch that you get a side with your sandwich and that they offer healthy options such as an apple. I have been to this specific Panera in Florham Park a bunch of times now and even when they are pretty busy the line moves quickly and your food comes out pretty quickly as well. I ordered lunch for a business meeting at the Basking Ridge NJ location, 5 salads. The food arrived on time but with no utensils and 2 Caesar salads came without dressing. It was embarrassing because they were for two guests (imagine Caesar salad with just lettuce, chicken, a few croutons, no dressing and no forks). When I complained to the manager she said she'd give me a free salad the next time I ordered and took my name and information. So I called her to place another order 2 days later. Took the family to this location on the way home from an appointment as a little celebration. When we arrived no one was behind the counter, we waited and decided to look at the sweet treat choices. Someone came in and it just so happen the cashier came in as well, and serviced that customer instead of us first. It was not acknowledged that my husband and two kids were there 5 mins earlier. We just let it go. We then waited for our order at the table directly in front of where you pick up orders, the wait was long and there were 4-5 people who got their food before us. Since we were waiting so long, I decided to ask for our drinks cups first and this experience with this girl was really what prompted this review. She let out a sigh of annoyance along with a half way roll of eye (probably catching herself that she shouldn't be doing that). Why did she do this? Bc I asked for you for our cups since you guys were taking so long? Then I had to go back to the counter bc we were still waiting and my kids were thirsty. When she gave us our drink cups earlier she forgot to give me the water cups I asked for when I put in the order. To be fair I didn't ask for it from her the first time, but again I said drink order and I did tell the cashier so there was a lack of communication there. She gave another sigh of attitude and she said you can get them behind the kiosk. I said a bit annoyed... "you could have just said that in the first place." (Letting her know that I do not appreciate her attitude). Then Of course after we finally get the order, the cookie was missing. I had to go back there again and deal with her nasty attitude again. I just took the cookie and did not look at her or say thank you. We made eye contact a few times bc it bothered me enough that I said on the way I out I would tell the manager. The manager was nice but maybe she doesn't have much experience because she said to me "it was nothing that you did". (In my head I was like I know this that's why I am telling you). She said that the employee had an issue with someone else tonight so she was off, and that she already spoke to her about it because she did caught it. I did say to her you need to reconsider who you put facing the clients. Customer experience is more important than anything. The manager was nice but probably needs some more experience in customer service. It sounded like she was just excusing that employee bc of she was having a bad day. That employees attitude should not get to any client. Anyhow, if she was having a bad day or has an attitude, if you really need her move her to the back and don't let her interact with the clients. It was supposed to be pleasant night out for my family, but our experience at Panera in Florham park put a pretty sizeable damper on it. Btw, the two chipotle chicken avocado sandwiches we ordered had everything on it except the chipotle sauce! My husband was ok with it, but I like my food saucy (not dry) which is why I ordered that for myself (and my husband) and the chipotle flatbread for my kids. If it wasn't for that rude and really ballsy girl (bc I see her rolling her eyes at the customer before me too) giving out the orders, I would have asked for them to add the sauce that should have already been on there, and would have enjoyed it more. I am a huge Panera fan, but NOT the one in Florham Park, NJ. First, every time I come they somehow manage to make an error with my order. Tonight they forgot to add chicken to my "Fuji Apple Salad with Chicken" and last time my husband's sandwich was missing the meat portion as well. Also, tonight every single booth was FILTHY even though the restaurant was empty! I saw employees who did not look busy tonight, so I am not sure why they couldn't clean at least a couple (if not all) the tables. Instead I cleaned up other's people's left over food, and I wiped down the table and booth with napkins and water from the bathroom to remove the smeared ketchup and crumbs. Lastly, the young person at the cash register who took our order did not seem to take her job seriously, and she laughed when she made a mistake which was odd. Lastly, I find it upsetting that Panera's current claim to fame is that they serve clean food, BUT they are not keeping our planet clean as they do NOT recycle plastic! Since we are running out of room, miles and miles of garbage is dropped into our ocean waters since there is no room which leads to pollution and harm to the sea life within our food chain. Garbage is also sent to space! So how can such a large chain such as Panera Bread neglect to do their part and recycle plastics?! Oh Panera, you're so convenient. They make a decent cappuccino and a pretty good chocolate croissant. Panera also makes an awesome bacon egg and cheese. To be fair, I only order salads here. Overpriced for the quality ....Calif Pizza has salads that are comparable in price and 100% better. Panera's Thai salad is good if you don't order the horrific dressing they put on it (just put the peanut sauce on & it's fine). They keep making errors and adding the disgusting dressing on it when I tell them I want the dressing "on the side". To be fair, their customer service has improved 100% in the past year and they added more tables. I still think it's overpriced for the quality of the food. Excellent coffee, sandwiches and panini as well as good bread and desserts keep me coming back. I like the fact that they are kid-friendly and service is quick, painless and fast. The decor is consistent with the Panera corporate standard and the restaurant is usually clean and well lit. All in all good to go before/after a visit to Trader Joe's or on a Saturday morning/afternoon with the toddler. Stopped coming awhile ago when the value of a meal became really bad but had a gift card so decided to try then again. Unfortunately they have only gotten worst. I am a Panera Bread fan in general. This location is awful. My usual order is a simple u pick two - greek salad and chicken noodle soup. With NO other guests in line and no pressure of a lunch time crowd. My soup and salad were packed in a to go bag - where I had specified 2x "dine-in". The salad contained old chilled tomato slices and very little feta cheese. The soup was more a broth. There was a token carrot floating in it. And a tiny square of chicken. Awful - that this place cannot even get a simple order right. There are many other similar choices in the area. Panera is fine - but I would avoid this location. If they are this bad when its quiet...I can only imagine how much worse it could get when they are busy. Never again. read more

The service here is incredible. You can tell the managers and employees really work hard and they're always very nice/helpful to customers. The food and coffee are always yummy, hours are very convenient especially for the suburbs (10 pm every day). This location is also huge - the dining room on the right side of the building is often less crowded and you can focus on work, maybe have your own booth. Just got the rewards card, already have had some good discounts. Everything about the ordering process is convenient: they have delivery, you can order ahead and pickup (they might also bring it out to you in the parking lot? Haven't used it myself), you can order with a cashier inside or input your order by yourself on the computers to the left. Either way, they bring the food to your table for you after you order, and it's always extremely fast (like 5 min). I recommend the southwest chili lime ranch salad with chicken. read more

I ate at this Panera yesterday with 5 other people at lunch and the food was really horrible. i had the grilled cheese sandwich with side of tomato soup...sandwich looked like it was made with wonder bread...it was small and thin and pale...like it had fake grill marks on it and was just nuked in the microwave, not really grilled at all. The soup was lukewarm, gummy and loaded with croutons and tasted like it came from the bottom of the pot. My co-workers were similarly unimpressed...one had to exchange her salad because the lettuce was looking really wilted and brown. If you want a really great sandwich, there is a great family-run deli a few doors down. BTW, we all live in Manhattan and had seen the ads for Panera and were anxious to go. I come to this Panera location almost every weekend. Service is not perfect but I draw the line this time. I placed an order for 4 Pick 2's, 2 of which included the Cashew Chicken Salad. The portions were noticeably less than usual which was quite disappointing. But the worse was the greens in the salads were rotten. The Panera staff included the leaves that were yellow, brown and had holes, seemingly feasted on by pests. The salads were brought back to the Staff who referred to their manager. To my shock, the manager simply told us "it is really like that". REALLY??? One member of my party asked the manager if she would eat salad like that, only then did they change the 2 salads with no apology given whatsoever. To our amazement, the bottom of the Panera receipt states, "Accuracy Matters. Your order should be correct every time. If it's not, we'll fix it right away, and give you a free treat for your trouble. Just let any associate know." Two errors brought to their attention during that particular visit, (1) they failed to bring to our table our order of dessert that we had to asked for it at the counter; and (2) not willing to replace our salads with rotten greens, WE WERE NOT GIVEN A TREAT NOR DID WE RECEIVE AN APOLOGY FROM THE STAFF NOR THE MANAGER.
