I ended up getting the Jersey Garden Omelette with feta - it was okay. My friends all agreed that the food was good, but not incredible. Something I will say though is that the portions are extremely generous - everyone's meal was huge, and this is one of the biggest omelette's I've ever eaten. Also, all the meals are customizable. The place itself has such a cool ambience - it really feels like a true diner, with booths and old fashioned decor that also feels very comforting and relaxed. I came here before a matinee at the nearby multiplex, sat at the counter and ordered a breakfast burrito for lunch. Went to East Hanover Diner for breakfast and had a great experience. Our waitress, Amy, was absolutely wonderful, super sweet, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout. A few regulars walked in and greeted her by name. This place really has that classic neighborhood diner feel - regular customers, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, a very warm, local vibe. Located off a busy Route 10 East, this establishment was conveniently close after running an errand today. Upon entering, there is no ambience or great decor, but the place was clean. My partner, my mom and I were first-timer here at the East Hanover Diner and was able to get a table right away after being greeted by the host. Similar to most Jersey diners, everything was under the sun, with a wide variety to choose from their 12-page menu. We settled for one of their weekend specials consisting of broiled salmon with fries, broccoli and chicken noodle soup; a beef gyro sandwich with fries; and a crispy chicken sandwich with fries and two onion rings. The food was well prepared and delicious. Our server was efficient and tried to smile (she wasn't a smiler). Reasonable prices, large portions, and took the salmon home for another meal. Came here to order lunch to start. We got sat down, and the waitress didn't come by for about 10 minutes. So thankfully, the gentleman who sat us asked if we wanted something to drink and said our waitress would be with us soon. I'm writing to share some feedback regarding our recent visit to the East Hanover diner on May 18th. While we generally enjoy dining at I have to say this time to be less than satisfactory due to the behavior of some of the waitresses. Our server, Mylene, was very unpleasant. She came across as overly intrusive and disruptive during our meal. When we requested anything, she seemed very impatient. Towards the end of our meal there was quite a disruption between some servers where you could clearly hear their voices and see the altercation with language, which in my opinion is unacceptable in a workplace, while patrons are dining and trying to have a peaceful time. Whatever you do, don't go on a Monday, when we told our waitress that our food was cold, her response was "Mondays are hard here". I picked up, my order was there, I did look in the bag and checked that my omelet was there, the waffle was there, a separate container for the chicken, then there was a brown bag that was hefty enough to be home fries so I figured that's what it was. That was my mistake because when I got home, the bag was full of condiments and syrup. My review isn't because of the error, it's because of what happened next. I called the diner, explained I didn't get the extra home fries ordered at $5.29. I asked if they would just refund it on my card instead of me driving back. She says "oh, just tell us next time that we owe you home fries." Huh? How is that a realistic option? I asked if she could just refund me because that didn't work for me. She said to request it through where I ordered. I told her I ordered it from their website, not doordash, etc. She said to go on the website and request it. Ok. So I go on their website and see no option to request a refund. I emailed them. Of course, no response. read more

They always have a good variety of specials that come with both a soup or salad and a dessert. Many diners are becoming less generous with their specials. When it comes to diner, I've been to better, but this place is close to home and was on our way home when we were done with bowling. This place is open late which was convenient. There's free parking lot in the back and there's a lot of seating. We got to sit in a booth and order. The staff at night seem like they want to go but it's understandable- it's quiet at night and not much to do. I ordered a Belgium waffle sundae while my dad got the omelet and my sister got a sandwich. I don't know if it was the owner managing this Friday the 14th around 11 pm or whatever but I've never been treated so rudely at a restaurant in my life. The man working the counter and seating people was extremely impolite to myself, my friends, and other customers. First off, as I was eating my meal my friends and I noticed how he aggressively responded to a group of young kids after they asked to be seated somewhere else. He said in a harsh voice "Sit in your seats" and walked away. As we were going to pay we asked him to split the check and he told us we had to ask our waitress to do it. Fine... except for the fact that he once again said it in a snarky tone and proceeded to say it 3 more times also yelling after we had said okay multiple times. My friend turned to walk towards our waitress and he yelled in her ear "excuse me" because he was also trying to go the same way.
