Love this location! The service is always nice, the interior is clean, and the food is fresh; even though they do sometimes run out of my favorite Candy Cookie. I recently tried the new Chicken Roma Asiago Bagel Stack, and it wasn't what I expected. The flavors didn't really come together for me, even though it includes the same dressing from the Green Goddess Salad that I usually enjoy. Also, the portion of dressing that came with my salad was very small, not enough for the whole bowl. This won't stop me from coming back, but I'll probably stick to my usual and be more skeptical about trying new featured items in the future. read more

I had not been to a Panera Bread in nearly 2 decades but there aren't many casual dining spots in this area. I made the mistake of trying the awful Wendy's on Mack Avenue and wanted fast food that was a bit healthier with better service. The soup and salads at Panera are pretty good. It isn't gourmet, but the price is reasonable, and the ingredients in my Strawberry Chicken Caprese Salad tasted fresh. I've been ordering from the Panera app and there are regular rewards and offers that lower the price of entrees. read more

I have been there twice this week for carryout coffee and a bagel. Their coffee to go with cream, sugar and hazelnut it just right. The blueberry bagel with cream cheese really hit the spot too. When I eat inside I usually order their steel cut oats with berries. I highly recommend them. The service is always fast and friendly. I do like eating in my favorite booth but I don't always have the time for a relaxing breakfast. I like the atmosphere there. read more

Ive been eating at Panera for so many years & always enjoyed delicious pastries breads & bagels, salads & fresh tastey food & coffee.

My kid has an after hours activity in GPP (I live 20+ miles away) so while she is there, I started bringing my laptop to Panera to have a coffee and do some work. Every time I come in here I notice the same things: 1. The pastries have flies all over them. Today, I counted 11 well-fed flies. 2. They run out of nearly every type of bread by ~5:30 PM and have to constantly apologize to Door Dash and their customers. Isn't this a bakery? 3. The dining room looks like it was last vacuumed during the Iran-Iraq War. 4. The bathrooms appear to be a dangerous science experiment. Everyone here is super nice and friendly. But their management needs to learn how to ensure there is enough bread and someone needs to do something about the filth and fly problem. read more

I have been avoiding the Panera in the Village because the few times I went, the service was unacceptable. This time however the service was quick and friendly! Used Uber eats to get a delivery during covid. Excellent service, very fast delivery, order was perfect, food was fresh (as usual in my experience at this Panera!). Ordered pick two salad & soup, they didn't forget anything (got the bread with the salad & and croutons with the soup etc). Plastic utensils, napkins... Will continue to go to this Panera! The worst experience and location I've been to. I ordered the pick 2. I asked to have my dressing on the side and got the completely opposite of what I asked. I brought the salad back untouched and asked them to swap it out for half a sandwich because I don't trust them to remake at this time for something so simple. The manager came out and accused that I wanted free food?! How? I brought the item back unopened and asked for them to swap it out. Beside the the salad being incorrect it was soggy! I work my ass off and don't want nothing for free. The rest of the staff are nice just don't know how they're running with that type of management. read more

Never clean! 1/5 bathroom cleanliness, food on the floor, sticky everywhere. Food takes a minimum of 20 minutes and is average. Not nearly as good compared to how Panera used to be. Ive been to this location several times, and somehow, someway, they always get my order wrong. Every....single....TIME! Ive tried to give this location several opportunities to redeem themselves, but to no avail. No matter if I order in person or on the app, an item is always missing or they botch an order completely. On one occasion I came all the way home after picking up an order only to find out that several bowls of soup were not in the bag. This is so frustrating!! I always have to check my bag before I leave, and sure enough, an item will be missing. This Panera has employees who have no desire to give the customers a good experience. Absolutely horrible service. Every coffee but decaf was empty. Asked when they might have coffee ready. Response was "it'll be ready when I decide to get to it". Asked to speak to management. One reason is because the store manager is blind to the managers malpractice and misdeeds. Don't be sorry for them though, because their blindness is purely on purpose. Are these corporate-owned or franchises? This place is a dump. Garbage on tables, crumbs all over the floors and the bathroom sink falling off the wall adds that extra special je ne sais pas. Not knowledgeable staff. The food tastes like Panera. Which is the one acceptable thing. But Panera is only so-so to begin with. They rarely have what you actually want. And shame on Panera corporate for not having much in the way of gluten free or herbal teas. I always find Panera pricey for what it is - and the fact that you have to bus your own table, etc. This place makes it feel even more inappropriately priced. Will I be back? I thought I'd stop by quick for breakfast after a workout. I ordered via the app with "Rapid Pick up," but nothing about it was fast. I went in after getting a text saying my pick-up order was ready and it was waiting for me on the Ready-Pick-up shelf. My order was nowhere to be found on the shelf when I went in, of course, so I had to wait in line while a guy hemmed and hawed about what order he wanted. It turns out my order was in the back somewhere. On my way out, after finally getting it, I double-checked the bag's contents to see if everything was there. It turns out everything wasn't. This is the worst Panera store that I've ever dealt with! I have never, in many attempts, had a correct delivery. Items are missing and the quality of the food is disappointing. The grilled cheese and tomato sandwich had hardly any product within the bread! They brought me someone else's order and spent 15 minutes on the phone with them while they tried to find my order! When I finally received our order, it was wrong again - sent a different soup than was ordered and didn't make sandwich as it was ordered! Garbage. Maybe half Garbage. I was in town and was looking for a quick bite.....I should have kept looking. I ordered You Pick Two; Chipotle Chicken Avocado Melt, and the Southwest Chile Lime Ranch Salad with Chicken; the sandwich was good, but the salad wasn't decent enough to feed a rabbit. The apple was rotten as well (a brown hole on top and not where the stem was. Unfortunately I didn't look at the food before I left the restaurant but after eating the sandwich in my car (I was hungry!; perhaps my hunger made the sandwich taste better than what it actually was?). Anyway, this is about the salad! I took the salad out the bag and was shocked. That salad wasn't even a Caesar salad! I showed someone (and sent pictures via text of 'what I ordered vs what I got' ), and when I told someone the Panera location, they weren't surprised! I called the location and spoke with the Manager, Gabrielle, who was apologetic and informed me they had a few new employees and would have to retrain them on the menu, and offered to put a freebie on my Panera account; I advised I had an account years ago but didn't remember it; she told me she would mail a coupon to me and asked me to send the photos in an email. I sent the photo email immediately, but 11 days, a follow up call, and email to Mike Z.(who was in a meeting when I called 9 days later), I've heard nothing back from them. Using the Panera Bread app ordered two salads for delivery. One salad ordered full size and received only a half order, and both side orders were absent. Upon calling the store received a confused response culminating in a response from the manager who did not provide a good service response. Very disappointing when you get an incorrect order delivered and pay for the poor experience. read more

Food is fine, lack of competence is why this branch gets a 1 star. In my last 3 orders online, I have been delivered the wrong food every single time. When I call to see if they will send me the correct food they say they cant or come up with some dumb excuse. The workers do not care or put any sort of effort into seeing what I ordered and what they are making/putting into my bag. Its almost like I am forced to go pick up my food in store rather than pay for delivery because I am forced to double check my food to make sure its what I ordered. Just visited here on my lunch break. 12-5-18 at 1300pm. I was "greeted" at the counter with a blank stare. No hello, no how can I help you, nothing. So after awkwardly standing there for what seemed like an eternity, I said hello. The girl never asked me once what she could help me with or what I wanted. I actually asked the girl, so when did customer service and the greeting role get reversed. Why am I greeting you? I think I shocked her. Oh well. I don't work at Panera bread for a paycheck. That isn't my job to greet customers and take orders. I get paid to do something else for a living. This is a busy restaurant in a nice area catering to the working force. I have been coming at this location for years. It is a great location in downtown Grosse Pointe. The people who work here are always friendly. They have never mixed up an order of ours. If you come here during lunch time it is always busy and during school year there are a lot of students who take their lunch break here. The food is always fresh. I have ordered salads,sandwiches, paninis and even breakfast. Have never been disappointed. Sometime we eat here or we use the rapid pickup order. If you come to eat here they have plenty of seating. There is also a nice patio with outdoor seating which is not facing Kercheval and is really quite. It a definitely a great choice for lunch in Grosse Pointe. read more

The exterior is a rare instance of Panera adjusting itself to an existing building, rather than their modern glass windows or standard mall exteriors that are common in many of their other locations.
