Enjoyed a great breakfast here today(Saturday). We were able to get a table right when we walked in, the menu is has quite a few options without it being too much. I ordered the cinnamon raisin French toast and a side of grits. Loved how eggy the French toast was, and the grits were an excellent consistency not too thick or thin. Good food, good portions, and good prices. I got carryout. I had the mushroom omelette with bacon and cheese added. I hate canned mushrooms and was happy that these were fresh. The pancakes were also very good- fluffy with good flavor. Nothing fancy, just good food for a casual meal! read more

This is my parents favorite breakfast spots. They come here at least once a month. I have been with them many times and still go, despite it not being my favorite in GP. I will say the staff are always friendly and welcoming. The food always comes out quick too. My mother enjoys their veggie omelet with well done hash brown. My step-dad likes their 3 eggs and bacon or with 2 sausage links, dependent on how he feels with tomato slices. I have only eaten their Turkey Reuben, it's okay. More than anything this is just a small abs cozy spot that feels like a neighbor regular spot for most of the patrons. read more

I was in the area and looking for a good ol' basic place for breakfast...not too expensive or frou-frou. Five Pointes Cafe hit the spot. Here is what I noticed: - Basic neighborhood diner type of place, but clean and neat inside - Broad menu, great prices...especially for Grosse Pointe - My dad and I each had the combination plate of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and meat. We both loved it! For meat, I got polish sausage, which was great. And, for less than $6 per meal, it was a deal. - Coffee was ok, nothing special, but it kept on coming. Great place to stop in! Skip the Big Boys or National Coney Island and hit 5 points instead. Great prices and great food. Best Greek & grilled chicken salad. Love this place. I dont K ow what they do with their pancakes but they are awesome. Every breakfast item I've had is great but the pancakes are some of the best I've ever had. Staff is friendly, prices are very good, and it's way less of a wait (if any wait at all) than a certain large breakfast establishment up the street near 8 mile. read more

One of my FAVORITE places in the five Pointes is the Five Pointes Cafe! Great American breakfast and a nice affordable price. I love it when staff is there for a long time, it means they enjoy their jobs and are well taken care of. The manager/ owner is so friendly, always coming out for a quick chat! Excellent quality ingredients. I have a sensitive tummy and I was at the hospital for a stressful visit so it was worse than normal. This food was perfect to calm it down. My loved ones joined me and we all really enjoyed the food. Burger meat was nice with fresh veggies. The fries were nice crisp and had a light seasoning. The breakfast eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon and ham were high quality and tasty without being heavy. I highly recommend it. Another important note - very clean kitchen. Three stars for the service and pricing. Great folks and the prices are very reasonable. Food is just average, not sure what the hype is about this place. My biscuits and gravy were a little below average. Gravy tasted like it was pre-made and my biscuits were chewy. Grits were okay, just dry but nothing butter can't fix. Eggs were rubbery. My favorite place to get brunch or lunch in GP! The menu is expansive and everything is well prepared and delicious. I've been there so many times now that I've tried a fair bit of the menu. I've enjoyed every meal here and I highly recommend it. The staff as well are top notch and more than that they are genuinely friendly. The servers all are very engaging and extremely helpful. The owner too has came out and talks to his clientele often. He's extremely friendly and jovial. This place's food and staff both deserve 5 stars. read more

Nice lil restaurant with very reasonable prices. The staff is great, and the cashier (lil lady) is just as sweet as she can be. Wow. This place is a wonderful little gem. Nice comfy booths. Lots of locals sitting at the diner counter. Quick and very friendly service. One of the best Reuben sandwiches I've ever had, lots of corned beef. I ordered my fries crispy, and that's exactly how the were served. Hot and crispy. They were perfect. The menu options were varied, anything breakfast or lunch. Plus, the daily soups are homemade and look delicious. Today's was stuffed pepper soup, and after I saw it, I wish that I would have ordered it. We'll definitely return, great diner with a small hometown feel. Great job guys.
