Dumplings!
Lina P.

Wow! Had a great experience coming here for a quick dinner. I love the unique menu combination of American barbecue and authentic Thai dishes. This time we ordered primarily from the bbq menu, getting the pulled pork sandwich, pulled chicken sandwich, a side of Mac n cheese and a side of dumplings. The pulled pork was the star of the show-so juicy, smoky, and flavorful. The chicken carried the same level of flavors, with both sandwiches touting hefty portions. I absolutely loved the Mac n cheese. It was so creamy and rich, the way I love Mac n cheese best. The dumplings were our only foray into the Thai menu for the night but it was a strong indication of how delicious the rest of the dishes are. Also treated myself to a sweet glass of Thai iced tea. It was truly a delicious meal in a small but quaint spot. Our waitress was really sweet and took great care of us. Overall, I'm very pleased with this awesome mashup of two of my favorite food styles/cultures. Can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

Fresh rolls

Wow! Ultimate comfort food place. And twice as much food as you can consume. The fresh roll was amazing! The ribs also amazing. My chicken was a little dry, but after putting the sauce on it really didn't matter. Their "Detroit Bone Sauce" is to die for. We will be returning.

Their "green curry" on the Thai menu is to die for. And their prices are very reasonable.

The Pointes have nothing close to authentic Chinese food, so Summer Palace is one of the few places…read moreto get any sort of Chinese food at all. Summer Palace has standard American style Chinese food in large portions. The Singapore noodles were good, although I would have liked more egg, spiciness, and meat and seafood (such as shrimp and chicken) in the meal rather than being an add-on option. I prefer the chicken egg foo young dinner, which comes with an egg roll and rice. For an additional $2.50, I chose to have fried rice. There is a large amount of rice and egg foo young topped with gravy. It's decent for American Chinese, filling, and is enough to feed several people. Not a bad takeout place considering there aren't many diverse food options in Grosse Pointe.

Crab Rangoon order was good, wrappers were an unusual yellow color that I was not accustomed to, but didn't change the product. They were delicious. One star lost because the egg rolls were not enjoyable. Filling was dense, they were greasy, and had some inside stringiness. I should've ordered the spring rolls. It was take out only, and a sweet young lady was ready to ring it all up and get me out - fast service. Everyone including phone order taker were easy to understand. Atmosphere is just what you would expect for a take out place. Tiny but serviceable. Will order from them again.

At Coriander, you might do a double take and wonder if you're actually in Detroit. I visited…read morerecently for a special event and was charmed at the location on the water, at the whimsical decor, and the social media-ready presentation of the food. I never knew about the canal district of Detroit, but the vibe feels like a vacation in Florida instead of the middle of the Midwest. Coriander ups that vacation vibe with bright paint, plenty of outdoor seating, and beautiful decor. All of our food tastes so fresh, and I loved the additions of things like edible flowers on the yogurt that we had with our parfaits. Service was appropriately attentive for a large group, and it never felt intrusive into our private event. I'll look forward to coming back sometime soon for another afternoon that feels miles away from everyday life!

I Went around noon on a Saturday and a parking spot was a challenge. I ordered a burger( not shown) it lacked flavor but I made it do. I also had a honey lavender tea that was soooooo good! Pictured is a hibiscus mocktail offered and very refreshing. Give it a try.
