Chicago Dog Hawaiian Sausage Seattle Dog

Stopped in here for a late lunch. Place was not busy and the service was good. It had a decent sized bar with tables surrounding it. Lots of music decor We ordered three different hot dogs to try. The hot dogs are flavorful and juicy. It surprised me to see them in a wrap but it paired well. The Hawaiian was a smoked sausage- which had good flavor too. There are many different types of dishes to Choose with interesting toppings and combinations. My favorite was the Seattle dog which had sauerkraut, cream cheese, and onions.

They have a lot of good Whiskies

The food was good and the waitress was very nice. I had the Jalapeno Popper Dog which had a little bit of heat ( I could of had more). We were the only ones there at 3 in the afternoon but the place was nice.

We stopped by on a Sunday so it wasn't very busy. That said, they have a great dive bar vibe. Robin was our server and did a fantastic job. All of us tried one of their dog meals. Two were wrapped which sounded odd to me. Turns out that's a terrific way to enjoy a dog. Everyone was very pleased with the flavor and texture. Even if you are stuffed after eating, order pie! Homemade quality. Good value, great service and plenty of items on the menu to choose from. Cheers!

Drove in from Columbus to see what my dad was raving about, it was so worth it!!! If you like beer, they have a great mix!!! I had the Baby it's cold outside, my dad got the Jambalaya and hubby got the Makin' Love Ukulele Style. All 3 were amazing!!! My dads favorite so far is the Pig! The chili on my dog was delicious!! I plan on getting chili cheese fries next time plus try a new dog! Robin was such a wonderful server. I think she owns the place. There are 2 sides of the restaurant. One side is like an old fashion diner!!! The other side is a bar with a little stage, some antique pianos. The decor is so fun to look at!!! We will be driving in from Columbus regularly to eat here!!

Various samplings of the specialty dogs.

This has been on my list of "want to try" for a while. Stopped in late afternoon, not overly crowded, pretty quiet actually. We weren't greeted as we walked in, but gave me a chance to explore. It's two areas connected, one side is a bar with booths and tables, the other is the kitchen with pool tables. We seated ourselves in a booth on the bar side. We were greeted and provided menus. They have a nice beer selection, but I forwent any booze on this trip. All the dogs are labeled as meals on the menu, so we asked if we could go a la cartè. You can, it's a reduced price, but not significant. We opted for a Chicago dog, a Seattle dog, and a Hawaiian dog. Great descriptions on the menu. The Chicago dog was the only one on a bun. The dogs are large in diameter, and have good flavor. These are consistent unless noted otherwise. Other options include sausages and sandwiches. All three were juicy and flavorful. We did try a sausage, it had great smoke flavor. Toppings will vary depending on the dog you choose. All toppings were great complements to each other and were sizeable portions.

I've seen this a bunch of times while visiting Newark (mainly Market Street Soda Works right around the corner,) but never had a reason to come in- I'd always eaten already or had dinner plans. Yesterday I went for the market and Christmas lights, and wanted something little to eat, and hey, they were still open at 730pm (not even special hours for the events, looks like they are always open till 8.) It's kind of tucked away off the square, so you almost have to be looking for it. Nice little place, a counter up front and a few tables along the side and back. Big menu of hot dogs, brats, a few burgers and other sandwiches. All with very interesting descriptions and ingredients. I settled on a "Respect" brat (looks like they are all named after songs, and there was good music playing, and even a rack of LPs.) Surprised me a bit- came out in a sealed-up, griddled wrap, almost like a Hot Pocket. Brat, baked beans, coleslaw. Each ingredient was good, and it all went together well. Pretty easy to eat, though it got a bit oozy at the end. Tasted great. That plus chips and a drink was well under $10. There are a lot more items on the menu I want to try, so I will be back. Service was great.

Reuben Dog, Chicken Salad Croissant, and Haystack! Yum!

This eatery is a hole in the wall, but one we quite enjoyed. The interior is decorated to give you the Oldies Vibe and the Oldies music is very entertaining. Seating is somewhat limited and clean. Service is friendly and helpful. The food is really why you come here. I got the Reuben Dog and it came sealed in a Tortilla. Really looking forward to the traditional dog on a bun, but the tortilla actually works better. Buns usually cannot handle all of the ingredients they put on the dogs, but the tortilla was perfect for the job and was less messy while still tasting awesome! Fun menu to order from with a variety of choices.

Franks and Sammie's has so many items to choose from. If they don't have an item on their menu, then that item doesn't exist.

I was looking forward to trying a couple beers listed on the website, but they were not there. My BLT was delicious, but the "avocado" upcharge was really just an avocado sauce, not real avocado. Most irritating though, the waitress brought us our check while I was only halfway done with my meal - I didn't ask for it and was clearly not ready. My friend commented to her that I still was thinking of getting a boozy milkshake. She didn't get the hint that maybe we weren't ready for the check, and just asks me which one I want. I was planning that as a dessert, so I stared at my half-eaten meal and told her that I'd like to finish my meal first before thinking about that. I haven't felt so rushed in a restaurant a long time. My friend told me that he goes often and had never had that experience before, so we'll try it again - and get a real burger.

We had a group of 6 and they had no problem sitting us with no reservation on a Saturday. One of the employees was able to get the Georgia game on and I was happy as a clam watching football and drinking beer. They even had a THC friendly lemonade that was delicious! If I'm ever in this area, I'll be stopping by just to have another pour of that! The food was excellent. I would compare it to an upscale bar food. My wife and I got the pretzel which was very good paired with one of the lagers. They even brought out extra cheese which was very kind. The wings were excellent too. I would absolutely recommend them if you're a wing connoisseur.

Based on several other reviews, I was a bit worried at first about what was to be expected with speed and quality of service. Our server, a young lady, was excellent, and helpful with making our choices. Her manager or chef seemed like a man possessed running around the floor to assist his staff at the time and did stop by once to check in with us. As far as menu changes or decor from a recent refresh, I have no basis of comparison so couldn't care less about that. We were starving so we opted for recommendations from our server spanning all over the menu. We had everything from cheese curds and bang bang shrimp to the Reuben and patty melt, to a filet mignon with loaded baked potato as a side. In retrospect, kicking ourselves now since nobody in our party got any seafood outside of the shrimp appetizer. Doubtful we will be back east of Columbus for a while so I have no idea when we'd realistically get to try the Salmon BLT or seafood pasta. Unfortunately nobody snagged photos of the food since we were famished and it wasn't a priority. I don't eat sweets, but was told the Key Lime Pie and Banana Fosters were well worth saving room for. If you're like me, I'd opt for the OG Dockside Old Fashioned instead.

We were seated behind a barrier, and after dropping off our entrees, our server disappeared. My husband realized that he hadn't been served any condiments with his fish & chips -- no tartar sauce, lemon, vinegar or ketchup, nor slaw. He waited a few minutes to dig in, figuring someone would pop around the corner and we'd catch their eye, or our own server would return to check on us. Nope. Meanwhile, hubby had tasted a few fries, which were barely warm and a bit flabby. He started to eat his fish, sans tartar, and said it was ok, but not super hot. Fish and chips out to come out of the fryer so fresh and hot that you need to wait a few minutes to eat it so you don't burn your mouth -- but not here. This food had been sitting around a while. A few other servers had checked on tables nearish to ours, but didn't give us so much as a glance, and didn't hear our loud "Excuse me!"s. We weren't thrilled at the prospect of having to get up and go to the bar or hostess station to get help. But because both our meals had become unenjoyable thanks to waiting over ten minutes for someone to happen by, I decided I'd go seek assistance. But just then, our server happened by. We flagged her down and asked for all the things that were missing. She glanced at my husband's still pretty full plate and her eyes popped a bit, clearly realizing that the sitch was not pleasing to us. She brought the missing condiments, but damage done at that point. It had been a little exhausting waiting around and keeping our eyes peeled for a passing server. The restaurant should make it more of a point to send servers through that lower seating area on the regular. It was a pretty mediocre dinner.
