There are two Panera locations in Hickory, and this one is the better of the two. They have *some* bakery goods left later at night, where the other location doesn't have any if you have an after dinner sweet tooth. They also have a really nice outdoor patio! The service is always fast and friendly as well. If you've never tried the strawberry lemon mint charged lemonade, it is a MUST for all of you caffeine addicts out there! I have one every single day. The blood orange (sugar free) charger is gross in my opinion, but the mango is my go to if they are out of strawberry.

I received the Sammie at breakfast sandwich ever this morning at Panera Hickory. It was half of half and definitely not worth the money spent. My specialty "iced" coffee was made incorrectly and had two pieces of ice in it. I keep hoping Panera will improve as I've tied in multiple cities to try again to want to spend my money here, each time I'm disappointed.

I have been going to this Panera for at least the last 3 years and I've never had an issue until today. It really pains me to give a less than 4 star review for any Panera because you know, it's Panera! Panera experiences have always given me good vibes BUT this location left me feeling some type of way from the moment the drive thru staff blurted out, "What can I get you?"...the experience only went down from there, short remarks, talking over my spouse and leaving the mike on after remarks so we could hear the chatter and laughter inside. Unfortunately, the food order was no better...I ordered Sweet Tea no ice but it came with ice, I ordered a small cup of ice and that was omitted and to add insult to injury, my perfect Turkey Avocado BLT was watery. Despite this horrible experience today, I will not let it turn me against one of my favorites and what I consider to be one of the Top 5 restaurants. However, based on my experience today and the reviews of others who've visited this location recently, I will not visit this location anytime soon. I am not in Hickory that often but it still makes me sad to mark this location off my list of quick food options. I hope management turns things around soon!

Love this location! Always fresh and ready to go! Yes, sometimes it may take a few minutes to get food, but have never been disappointed.

At the time we arrived, it was self seating, but we found a table easy and a waitress came up immediately. She was a lovely lady, polite and efficient. She apologized that the pub was short staffed but any extra wait we had wasn't noticed. My husband had the 1877 Cheeseburger with Coleslaw. The burger was super juicy and flavorful. The coleslaw was good. I had the Buffalo Bomb and paid a little extra to have it as a wrap. It was So Good. Stuffed full, and the wrap was tender. Saucy but just the right amount of sauce. I had the White Cheddar macaroni and cheese as my side and it was satisfyingly good. Honestly, walking in? I had no idea what I wanted to eat. But what I ordered and ate was exactly was I was wanting. Hah! Even the portion sizes were just right and priced very appropriately. The bar portion of the pub looked quite lively and there was an upstairs that I wasn't able to check out. The bathrooms were one-seaters, but were roomy and accessible and very clean. I definitely recommend this pub if you are in the area for a drink and some good food.

It was cooked on the outside but not on the inside, leaving it extremely cold. We didn't complain because the staff was incredibly friendly. We visited this Jason's Deli during a recent trip, and for a first time visit, it was up to the same standards as the other Jason's Deli restaurants that we have been to. You order at the counter and pay before sitting down, which ensures that your littles don't change their mind a million times. We got the beefeater with chips plus a one trip salad bar, the kids pizza, and a turkey and cheese sandwich. They used to have turkey and cheese sandwiches on the kids menu, but have removed them, so my littles sandwich was adult-sized and lasted two days. The salad bar is massive, and there's something for everyone on there. We sat in one of the many tables within the restaurant, but there are also booths if that is what you would prefer. The decorations told the history of Jason's Deli and provided for some informational reading as we waited for our food. The beefeater is a massive roast beef sandwich that comes with au jus for dipping - so good! The kids cheese pizza is always just warm enough to eat immediately, but not hot enough that it will burn the roof of your mouth. I didn't realize until after our meal that I actually had a birthday reward for a free dessert, and the staff was kind enough to let me use it after the meal. I chose the strawberry shortcake, and it was pretty tasty. It was big enough to share with my table, although some opted out in lieu of the free ice cream. It was a welcomed stop on our trip, and if we're back in the area, I'm sure we will visit again.

We look for highly rated restaurants, close to the interstate and which have outdoor seating because we have dogs. Bringing water for our dogs and cups to take our sweet tea with us, our server, Kiersten, was the epitome of friendly southern hospitality. The barbecue was delicious. You could see the smoker on the property. What set this apart was the choice of sides. There were several sides such as green bean casserole and creamed corn that you don't see at other barbecue joints. We will definitely be back on our next trip to NC.

Easily the best thing on the table and definitely worth trying. Unfortunately, everything else just didn't live up to it. The BBQ and brisket were a letdown -- lacking flavor, not as tender as expected, and just didn't have that true smoked BBQ quality you look for, especially in a place like Hickory where the standard is high. Service and atmosphere were fine, nothing bad there, but when the main focus is the food, it just didn't deliver the way I hoped it would. Left feeling disappointed and honestly wishing I had gone somewhere else. Might give it another shot down the road, but based on this visit, it didn't live up to the hype for me.

Between the two of us, we've been here at least four or five times over the years, and I've also had several business lunches here. I genuinely wish I could say it's a restaurant I love and frequently recommend, because there is a lot to like about it. The building has character, the location is great, and the overall atmosphere is charming. Unfortunately, the experience itself has consistently left us underwhelmed. Every time we visit, the food is just okay--nothing particularly memorable or worth going out of your way for. The service has also been consistently slow, and on this most recent visit, that trend continued. We keep telling ourselves we won't come back, but after six to eight months we'll think, "Maybe we should give it another shot." Sadly, we usually leave feeling the same way we did the time before. What makes this especially frustrating is that the restaurant has so much potential. The setting is wonderful, and we genuinely want to like it. However, after multiple visits over several years, it feels like the food quality and service simply haven't lived up to the atmosphere. My biggest suggestion would be to focus on improving the consistency and quality of the food and to encourage the service staff to be more attentive, friendly, and proactive. A little hustle and hospitality can go a long way. At this point, there are simply too many other good dining options in the area for me to enthusiastically recommend Hickory Station. To those about to dine, I'd honestly look elsewhere.

There is also a brunch menu with typical food such as breakfast plates, beignets, and biscuits & gravy. The parking lot is a bit small, but there is a slightly larger lot next door that does not seem to boot people. The restaurant is pretty spacious inside offering booths and tables. There is also outdoor seating. The service was very friendly and quick! My friend and I got the Korean Fried Chicken Sandi and Little Italy. I was in between trying their Breakfast Tacos and the Korean Fried Chicken Sandi, but the server told me to get the sandwich and it was decent. I had seen some reviews on other websites that people were worried it was going to be too spicy because of the gochujang. But it is NOT spicy at all, at least not to me. The sandwich tasted kind of sweet, which is a taste found in gochujang. There was a lot of red onion slaw, which I would probably not add in next time. The chicken was pretty crunchy and tasted good, but I did not taste the marination in the meat. I got waffle fries with honey mustard for my side which tasted pretty good. My friend enjoyed her Little Italy sandwich. Overall, I would give this place a 3.75/5 stars if I could. For my first visit, I thought the food was alright. I would come back to try other items on the menu because it is pretty vast, so there is probably something more to my liking there.
