There are two Panera locations in Hickory, and this one is the better of the two. They have *some* bakery goods left later at night, where the other location doesn't have any if you have an after dinner sweet tooth. They also have a really nice outdoor patio! The service is always fast and friendly as well. If you've never tried the strawberry lemon mint charged lemonade, it is a MUST for all of you caffeine addicts out there! I have one every single day. The blood orange (sugar free) charger is gross in my opinion, but the mango is my go to if they are out of strawberry.

I received the Sammie at breakfast sandwich ever this morning at Panera Hickory. It was half of half and definitely not worth the money spent. My specialty "iced" coffee was made incorrectly and had two pieces of ice in it. I keep hoping Panera will improve as I've tied in multiple cities to try again to want to spend my money here, each time I'm disappointed.

I have been going to this Panera for at least the last 3 years and I've never had an issue until today. It really pains me to give a less than 4 star review for any Panera because you know, it's Panera! Panera experiences have always given me good vibes BUT this location left me feeling some type of way from the moment the drive thru staff blurted out, "What can I get you?"...the experience only went down from there, short remarks, talking over my spouse and leaving the mike on after remarks so we could hear the chatter and laughter inside. Unfortunately, the food order was no better...I ordered Sweet Tea no ice but it came with ice, I ordered a small cup of ice and that was omitted and to add insult to injury, my perfect Turkey Avocado BLT was watery. Despite this horrible experience today, I will not let it turn me against one of my favorites and what I consider to be one of the Top 5 restaurants. However, based on my experience today and the reviews of others who've visited this location recently, I will not visit this location anytime soon. I am not in Hickory that often but it still makes me sad to mark this location off my list of quick food options. I hope management turns things around soon!

We recently stopped here on our way from NC to VA, and we think this will be part of our travel…read morerotation. We look for highly rated restaurants, close to the interstate and which have outdoor seating because we have dogs. Bringing water for our dogs and cups to take our sweet tea with us, our server, Kiersten, was the epitome of friendly southern hospitality. The barbecue was delicious. You could see the smoker on the property. What set this apart was the choice of sides. There were several sides such as green bean casserole and creamed corn that you don't see at other barbecue joints. We will definitely be back on our next trip to NC.

Easily the best thing on the table and definitely worth trying. Unfortunately, everything else just didn't live up to it. The BBQ and brisket were a letdown -- lacking flavor, not as tender as expected, and just didn't have that true smoked BBQ quality you look for, especially in a place like Hickory where the standard is high. Service and atmosphere were fine, nothing bad there, but when the main focus is the food, it just didn't deliver the way I hoped it would. Left feeling disappointed and honestly wishing I had gone somewhere else. Might give it another shot down the road, but based on this visit, it didn't live up to the hype for me.

It was on the saltier end, but was filled with flavor. Their fries were also really good! I tried their cookies and cream malt, because I've heard many good things about their custard. The interior is super nice remodeled and very clean. At times the lines are long trying to order the food, but a little known fact you can try. You can immediately go to your table and order online and pay from your phone using the QR code card at your table and get your food sent directly to you. Who doesn't want to skip the hassle of standing in line especially with hungry kids during the peak busy hours. Try it next time, it's a game changer. This not to detract from the great staff. The staff is great. Always friendly and welcoming you in to the restaurant. The meal i tried this time is the roasted garlic and bacon pub burger with of course cheese curds. I also tried the new mac and cheese. The burger was legendary. The culinary creators are great at combining great ingredients together to create taste worthy dishes. The new limited time cheddar on cheddar mac and cheese definitely puts them on the playing field with this latest dish. Hopefully you have experienced greatness here, if not come by for an amazing meal.
