First time at any Panera...hey I give everyone a fair review on my experience that's why Yelp f*c*s with me lol......so i finally got to a Panera Bread....and mannn first thing I see is ONE ...LAST....pecan roll...I arrived about 7 something pm, I knew this had to been the LASTTTTTT ONE FOR THE DAY.....oh so let me tell you, aside from the fancy touch screen ordering...loved the red couches and seating for the dining....my friends French onion soup and sandwich was bomb...might have to try that next time with another pecan roll....service is great, my pecan roll was just right with the Starbucks Frappuccino I ordered....win win in my book...here's to you Panera! read more

This is one of the worst Panera. Anything made in this place is disappointing. There are many cases of missing ingredients. Baja bowl sometimes with no avocado, sometimes with no yogurt. chipotle chicken without the cheese. Panera is Panera. That being said, I like the Panera in a Newport mall. It's quick, efficient and staples like broccoli and cheddar soup with chicken Cesar salad are good. I've gone to some Panera's that have extremely dry salads but I like that they put enough dressing on it. Very convenient for a quick bite when shopping. read more

Anyone who has been to a Panera in the burbs knows the level of quality is superior, so it only makes it weep worthy when you go to one in a city, and there's half the food and the quality tastes like fast food-food. We had the worst experience at this Panera! My fiancé and I both ordered a soup and a sandwich. First off, they didn't bring our order to the table. They just called out our number. Ok, fine. My French onion soup tasted old and burnt. Then we looked at our sandwiches and they had put them together improperly. My fiancé had half of my sandwich on his sandwich and vice versa. When he brought them back to be fixed he was totally ignored by the staff. We fixed them ourselves. They also told us they were out of baguettes but the man that came in after us got one. We frequent Panera in Jersey City both in person and their on-line catering. We had a very small issue with the catering last week and the corporate catering department IMMEDIATELY resolved my concern.(Ms. McCullough) We had catering again today and we are back on track with the great food and service that makes Panera so successful!!!! I like the addition of Panera to Newport mall's dining options, and the additional seating they've put outside of Panera. I'm usually a fan of the Bacon Turkey Bravo, and the same goes for this location. I uploaded a photo of what I saw when I opened up my chicken tortellini alfredo meal- the portion is really small for the price and kind of tasted like a microwaved meal. I also picked up a bowl of soup (without the bread bowl) one day when I was sick, and was shocked at how tiny the container was (I had to ask to make sure they didn't give me a cup by accident, and they said that was the correct size), for a soup that cost over $5. A redeeming quality however was that the bread they served with the soup was extremely soft, tasty and fresh- so I think they've got good quality bread at their bakery. So for now on I'll stick to Panera for the occasional sandwich or specialty bread. read more

I have dined in Panera so many times at different locations and this one is the most disappointing. I ordered online for the usual half-half meal, Fuji salad and a soup. When I got the package, the food was carelessly placed in the bag. The soft bread roll was thrown into the bag randomly without any paper wrappings. There was no spoon come with the soup. The salad dressing cubic was inside the salad box, and, it was only half filled. So was my salad! The half-half mean doesn't mean I got my salad box half! Had to go the food court in the mall to complete my dinner. Never plan to dine at this location again. read more

Always have an exceptional experience when I come here (which is probably once every 2-3 months). Food is always fresh, delicious, and the portions are (surprisingly) large! The staff are also very friendly & helpful (since I usually dine in)- one employee offered to take my tray/trash away when I was done my meal and just using the free wifi. What a no-fuss Panera location. Been here many times and they always get my order accurate. Their customer service is decent and food quality is great! I have had Panera's chicken caesar salad at other locations, but for some reason this location makes it tastier (maybe they add a little more caesar dressing). The only reason I took off a star is because the foccacia bread i have had here wasn't as fresh as other locations. But that was just a minor difference. I'd recommend this place if you are in the mall, it's affordable yet healthier than most food-court options. read more

This Panera Bread location is by far one of the worst that I have ever been to. I work in the area so I always order for online pick up because I know how crazy it can get during lunch time. However, this location is understaffed and is 20-30 minutes late even for pick up orders that are ordered hours in advance. And if you want to complain to the manager? Good luck, because he doesn't care about his customers one bit. He is unprofessional and thinks the store should "discontinue online pick up orders" to solve the issue. Maybe if the location staffed more employees who actually cared about their jobs they may be more successful. Stay away if you want to enjoy your lunch hour. read more

Well needless to say I've been waiting for this day! Located in the first floor next to the footlocker, across the Vans store and if you enter through the light rail entrance, at your very first left past the juice bar. I've unfortunately had to settle for Cosi to avoid the drive to the Hoboken Panera and now located in Newport Mall I no longer need to worry about that. I've always been a fam of their broccoli and cheese soup, as well as their soup and half sandwich combos. I believe you might also have the option soon to order online and pick up but in the meantime try their turkey artichoke, smokehouse turkey, bread and definitely broccoli and cheese soup! This is the only location in Jersey City and I believe will be here for a while. Decor looks typical Panera franchise, warm and cozy and although not as huge as their other locations due to mall space, you'll be mainly picking up to go from here, enjoy and see you soon! read more

First of all, who runs out of avocado during peak lunch time? Half of their salad and sandwich menu has avocado as the ingredient. And second of all, Panera Bread Corporate...PLEASE TRAIN MANAGERS AND ENSURE THEY KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS BECAUSE HER ATTITUDE AND DEMEANOR IS LOUSY. Here is my experience. I ordered Pick 2 for Rapid Pickup - The Chili Lime Chicken Avocado Salad (paid extra for extra avocado) and the Summer Corn Chowder. I went to pick up and saw that "See Manager" note on my receipt. The manager told me (with a slight attitude) that they're out of avocado since 2 hours ago (REALLY?!?!!) and that some customers would get a message. Well, THIS customer did not get a message and paid extra for it. Since it's not exactly the salad that I paid for, I asked if I can get another salad. The manager begrudgingly said "Ok". I looked at the menu and literally, almost everything had avocado in it - and to me, it's just not the same without it. So I went back to the manager and told her I just want a refund. Again, she has a slight attitude and just an overall unpleasant demeanor. Started punching in some things on the register and gave me the refund. I should've said something about refunding me the extra 75 cents that I paid for the extra avocado...because she didn't include it in my refund. But after such an awful experience, I don't even want to go back there to "bother" the manager. I hope Panera Customer Service or Corporate is reading this because it would such a shame to have one location ruin the reputation of a good restaurant brand. PS. The apple that came with my meal is pure garbage - it's rotten!!!! There needs to be better quality control of the food. I had to change my 6 month old crying son and the employees refused to let me use their restroom to change him. They insisted I buy something or other wise go somewhere else. the Food is your normal Panera food(mostly good). But the guy at the counter that gives you your order was really rude to me. Went on to give 5-6 other people their order even though my order was on the counter and the buzzer was going off. Don't come here on the weekend. Your order will take over 20 minutes and you'll be lucky if it is correct. The food is typical fast casual so it's not amazing but far from terrible. The fact that this location is at the mall is super convenient but that also means the service leaves a lot to be desired because they know they'll have clientele regardless. Comfortable seating, free ice water, & their rewards program via mobile app is worth it. For better or worse, this storefront is way better than the one in Hoboken. read more

Great sandwich and soup from the time I visited here. The "you pick two" deal is a good amount of food to fill you up, with your choice of soup, salad, sandwiches, or pasta. I had the bacon turkey bravo sandwich and the broccoli cheddar soup, with chips. All were excellent. I was surprised to be handed one of those buzzers despite ordering to eat in, but this appeared to be normal in this location (the first I've seen at any of their locations). Yes, I went opening day. The pick-up line was crazy long, but the service was excellent and the food was very fresh. Without a doubt the freshest Panera salad and sandwich I've ever had.
