This has got to be a prank. I think I've been punk'd. I ordered a 1/2 soup and 1/2 sandwich combo, a fruit bowl, and a bowl of chicken noodle soup today from Panera. We received our order and the first thing out of the bag was the fruit bowl. The pictures showed strawberries, cantaloupe, and blueberries. Picture will be posted. No strawberries and very thinly sliced cantaloupe. Then I pull out the bbq 1/2 sandwich. There is only a very tiny amount of chicken on the middle of the half sandwich. Hey they put a good amount of bbq on there. Pictures posted on this as well. If this is the amount of food you get on the sandwiches there will be one less Panera bread customer. So I called thinking surely there was a mistake. Manage says we have measuring cups for the food and it was indeed correct. They didn't have strawberries for the fruit cup so they couldn't give any. No apologies, no added other fruit or more of one of the other fruits. When I stated the chicken was only in the middle part of the sandwich she stated once again they have measuring cups for that. I surely hope Panera is not that stingy with their food that comes at premium prices.. I'm telling you if I could give it a zero I would. I ate bbq bread, thin slices of cantaloupe and a few blueberries. Soup cups 1/2 full, I can only imagine they use measuring cups for that as well.. What little circle of chicken I did eat was ok. The 1/2 cup (bowl according to them) was warm and Thank Goodness my daughter was sick because the half "bowl/cup" would not have been enough otherwise. I stop by often for a grilled cheese on ciabatta or Mac and cheese. The one time something wasn't right, I called and they took care of it. The employees are always friendly. I only wish Panera hadn't stopped making flatbread pizzas and pumpkin muffins. read more

I have frequented this Panera since we moved her with my family and I haven't had bad service or food once! I love the chipotle chicken avocado, minus the chipotle, +garlic mayo! And the apple chicken salad needs no introduction. read more

Worst Panera ever! I ordered their new chicken sandwich and frozen lemonade. The sandwich was dry, plain, and cheap. The frozen lemonade was not frozen, just a layer of lemon flavoring and ice/froth. On top of that the employees obviously didn't want to be there nor did they care about basic people skills. I will not be back and wish I could give zero stars. read more

In terms of food quality, this place is a solid 3/5, maybe more. In terms of actually giving you the food that you unambiguously ordered (since it was online and there is no room for misunderstanding what the customer wants), it is a 0/5. While I've had decent ordering experiences here before, tonight was just so egregious that I feel compelled to say something about it. I ordered a mac and cheese broccoli soup, fruit cup, small Asian sesame salad, and chocolate croissant. When I arrived home to devour the salad and nourish my nutritionally deficient body, I discovered on the bag (with my name on it) that the order said it had been "modified" ... beyond recognition. What I got was a broccoli and cheese soup (most forgivable--I'd count this as "modified" from the soup I ordered), two random slices of bread, a grilled cheese sandwich, a turkey bacon avocado sandwich, and an apple. All good stuff, but definitely not what I ordered and not what I wanted (and frankly, not what I needed nutritionally). I received absolutely no indication that my order would be "modified" in this way, no indication that there were ingredient issues with specific items or anything, and definitely no apologies. My husband ordered online to pickup at 5:45 pm. When he got there, he still had to wait almost 30 minutes. There were lots of people waiting for their food also. Yeah. This Panera is pretty bad ... I, personally, stopped eating, here, about a year ago: I'd order something and, then, when I'd arrive to pick it up, the order would at least be incomplete (They were always out if something ...) or, sometimes, THEY would substitute for me. :/ The employees didn't seem to care and -- since it's the only Panera in the area -- I'm not sure the owner is concerned about losing business to another location. We bought our daughter a gift card to use, since she works nearby and ... It's the same thing. But, when they're out if something OR when someone else takes YOUR food, they ask you to choose something else ... never crediting your gift card, debit card, etc. read more

Went downhill rapidly. Soup is watered down. Out of baguettes, so we got a miniature no flavor apple and stale chips. Barbecue chicken Mac n cheese does not mean bbq chicken- it means boiled, bland chicken with lukewarm pasta and refrigerator cold, gelatinous bbq sauce plopped on top. Crazy, though, the bowl was hot to touch. So, they must microwave the bowl and then put cold food in it...??? Same with the soup. Hot bowls with cool soup. I would have asked them to microwave it, but the bowl was already hot, it could have cracked. This Panera has been a regular for our family, but this is the second time they have failed on multiple levels. And to top it off...while ordering, someone brought out a tray of chocolate chipper cookies and placed the tray on the warming display. She was using a hot mitt, so I asked, "oh, are these fresh out of the oven?" She said yes. Lies, cold cookies. Not even lukewarm, cold like they had been sitting under a fan. Terrible. First and last time visiting this location. I usually love Panera, but this was awful. Tables were not clean. Ordered pick two salad and sandwich. Chicken sandwich was dry and had no condiments at all. Ordered Fujii apple chicken salad. The salad had 3 very small, thin strips of meat (think Lunch meat thin and 1.5" long.) Wilted greens in the salad and they were out of several salad dressings. Two of the soda selections were out and two teas. Reported twice that the tea dispenser was empty. It was never filled. I ordered Panera curbside pick up for dinner and they forgot my tea so I checked the rest of my order to find my Mac and cheese was cold and watery ( I ordered on the app and arrived in 10 min or less). I went in to get my tea and notified the staff my food was cold and they charged me for a new one. I just got off working a 14 hour shift at the hospital, was super tired and paid for the fresh Mac and cheese. I felt very cheated after but was too tired to go back to ask for a manager. I use to love this restaurant. The last 2 times I have been there nothing was fixed correctly. The staff is rude and could care less about the quality of food they are serving. They are to busy telling customers about their struggles there is no apologies just hatefulness and resentment . The first time everything was wrong I understood but the second time in the same week and we were dining in the restaurant I went back up to the cashier and her reply was just throw the food away. She did not get us more food or offer a refund. We left hungry! Very sad not the Panera my family and I love!! read more

I order rapid pickup all the time and have been increasingly frustrated with this process. This location ALWAYS seems to be forgetting something with my order. Most of the time it's the French banquette. One time I even ordered an additional banquette in hopes that would remind them to include it in my bag....BUT NO they still forgot to include both banquettes (one that came with my you pick 2 and the extra I ordered). So if you order rapid pickup check that all you food is there before you leave the restaurant or be super disappointed when something's missing from your order when you get to home/work. read more

Recently I find myself often opting for the half/half option.(Whereby you're allowed to order 2 halves on an item ie. sandwiches, soups, salads, etc.) For instance, I got a french onion soup and chipotle chicken sandwich. Pros: - Extremely fast service (I'm always amazed by how quickly the line dwindles while waiting to order and notice how the pager goes off well before expected) - The consistent quality! (Freshly prepared items with rich tastes that never fail to exceed expectations) - Lovely ambiance. Jazzy music and brightly colored walls with modern decor create a very welcoming environment for a casual afternoon/evening dining experience - Fresh breads available for take away. They have a bakery section at which you can order which ever breads your heart desires. I used to love Panera...not anymore. They have ruined their Greek salad. They discontinued putting the pepperoncinis in the salads and replaced red onions with disgusting slimy pickled onions. What you get now is a big pile of lettuce with a couple crumbles of feta cheese and nasty pickled onions. If you're lucky you might get one olive. This place is way too expensive to be serving sloppy sub par food like that. read more

The best (and one of the few) coffee shops in Kingsport, Panera is my office. It's where I go nearly every day to write, and it's also where to go to get the best food in town. Like all Panera's, they're a bit overpriced but worth it. Free wifi that won't kick you off like The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, though they do limit you to thirty minutes at lunch time. Mostly friendly folks behind the counter, but they'll leave you alone to work too. Thai Chicken Salad is perfect, as is Frontega Chicken Sandwich. Say hello if you see me there. read more

This is the best place I've found around here to enjoy wifi and good food. My daughter and I always get the soup in a breadbowl - which is always very good, however I have noticed different sized breadbowls at times (I don't eat much, so doesn't affect me, but might bother someone else.) However, my college daughter told me she went here once and they were out of breadbowls, but she got charged the same price for the soup without the bread. Which isn't right. If you're a vegetarian in TN this is a good place to go. (One of the few places I've found that has quality menu items for vegetarians.) I've always gone later at night and have sat there for well over an hour with nary a dirty look. I also seemed pretty lucky at finding a table with an electrical outlet when I had my laptop that didn't hold a charge. Some places only have one or two outlets. And it's worth signing up for the Panera card cause you get free pastries :) read more
