For some reason, these sandwiches are very sub par when ordered after the dinner rush. 8, 8:30, or even 9. We eat dinner this late and apparently cannot rely on standard quality with this restaurant. My wife orders extra meat for another $5 to make this a $14 sandwich and they still have no quality control to make sure the customer gets the sandwich they advertise. My husband just drove through and brought me dinner. My sandwich was supposed to have 3 things on it. It only had one correct ingredient, another was incorrect, and the third completely missing. They also neglected to put his receipt in the bag or give him one at all. I tried multiple times to call and have the issue dealt with, but they hung upon me every time. Went to order dinner. They were out of the first two items I ordered. So I asked for grilled cheese with bacon (they were out of the bread) so it came on wheat even though they said sourdough. This place has been a complete disaster the past yr. You never know if you're going to show up to the drive through and it be open or not. Sometimes they have a piece of paper stating "due to shortage of staff, we closed early". This will be posted sometimes around 6:00! Don't even be get me started on the lack of supply they have there. 90% of the time I go to order, and I always order the same things for my kids, they are out of the bread to make the sandwiches they like or have nothing to make flatbreads. Plus, that's AFTER having to wait 20+ minutes in the drive through line to place an order and they don't have anything you want. My youngest has a feeding disorder and loves Paneras grilled cheese and broccoli cheddar soup. Some days it's all we can get him to eat. Now I have to travel farther to go to a reliable Panera. Panera Bread co has officially lost my service. I wanted to wait it out to see if they would go back to their usual ways but it has only gotten worse. It seems like i haven't walked out of their door with out a problems in 2 years. That is sad. They had lost/messed up my order or it was taken by someone, almost every time i've ordered from here. That last time I came in, my order was completely lost even tho the app said it was ready for pick up. i wait for 10 minutes and then they act like i never made and order and realized their mistake shortly after. Because of all the let's down i have experienced with this panera, i decided to tell the worker that my sandwich was a whole instead of a half, which i think is reasonable considering i had to wait for 15-20 minutes to get my food in the first place. And when i go home to eat they give me the half sandwich instead. It's like the only thing they care about is making sure they don't satisfy their costumers. Do better. 2 years ago you guys would have OFFERED me the free extra half of a sandwich. so sad. I know people will read this and think I'm just some rude lady complaining a about not getting free food, but i have given this bread co location countless chances to redeem themselves and it seems like it only gets worse. Ok...I love their food, but...consistency and cleanliness are lacking big time. Countless times, empty tables throughout restaurant and not a single one clean. Routinely having to clean my own table before sitting down. Place needs a deep clean. Now the food, adds anxiety when I'm not sure whether I will get the big salad or the little salad, sparse or drenched dressing, the sandwich with big chunks of avocado or small ones, warm or hot coffee, a full bread bowl of soup or a half full one...get the picture? They're good but always out of everything. At least thats what it seems like. Drive thru attendants are Also never by the register when they ask for your order so I always have to repeat myself and when I get my food something is always off due to the fact they trying to go by memory. They need a better system so the drive thru attendant isn't running around doing this and that while trying to take orders at the same time , it's inefficient and ineffective but the food is still good & they do usually offer me a drink or a pastry for free when giving my order wrong. read more

Unfortunately St. Louis bread Company is not what it used to be. I'm not sure if it's their higher prices or they're bad customer service. Also today being Veterans Day ,observed, certain local locations were giving meals to veterans. This location is not! As a matter of fact they said they never give discounts to vets. This review is an indictment of the American educational system more so than a review of yet another bread co location. Why? Mainly because of the interaction I had with a member of the staff. She was very pleasant but absolutely clueless. They were not at all busy when I walked in and asked for a dozen bagels cut into quarters. I prefer this method of cutting up the bagels when I am taking them to a customer as a gift. Pretty simple, really - they are easier to snack on than bagels that are sliced. Lots of people will enjoy a quarter of a bagel who would pass on a half bagel. Slice them longitudinally and some get a top while others wind up with a bottom. This reminds me too much of the issue with the muffin stumps from that episode of Seinfeld...and I'm not interested in doing that to my customers. Quartered. How in the world could that be so difficult?!? She asked me for clarification so I mimed it on the counter - cut it like this then cut it like that...all while drawing on the counter with my finger. Nope - she didn't get it and offered to put them through the slicer then cut them in half. I tried again but this time used one hand to demonstrate the bagel and the other to demonstrate the knife. Apparently that was still too much so she called her manager over to help her. The manager was able to figure out what I wanted without even asking a clarifying question. She cut the first one and showed it to her as an example. How in the hell could it have been that difficult to understand??? The only answer I have is an indictment of the American educational system. read more

I'm a gardener so it really surprises me that I can't identify a lettuce they keep using. It looks more like a tree leaf; serrated edges, leak stem. NO idea what it is. I have dandelion allergy so a new unknown leaf is questionable for me. Anybody know what it is? read more

Excellent food and excellent service. Everyone was nice and the location was clean. The citrus salad had way too much citrus to be honest and it tasted like fruit salad with Asian sesame ginger dressing but I still love the fresh ingredients and will always stop here when traveling and in a hurry. read more

I just did a rabbit pick up at this location and only got four out of my six items. I talk to the employee as he sat the bag on the shelf and said is everything in that one bag? And he replied with yes I said thank you and left. Now I got to spend 10 minutes driving back-and-forth each way to pick up the remaining items because he both did not do his job and lied to my face. I tried to call and follow the prompts to speak with a manager but the phone rang until it disconnected. I wish I had driven to any other bread Company or better yet any other store. The Lake St Louis Panera Bread company needs to hire effective managers, to train the children on service and attitude. When I ordered two bagels sliced, with Honey Walnut spread, there were two bagels, no spread and one bagel had been improperly sliced. The top of the bagel had been sliced thinly off the top. The last time I visited, the same thing happened, the top of the Bagel had been thinly cut off the top. This happens when the bagel is placed upside down in the slicer (very basic stuff) I called the manager and explained both incidents. She told me I could come in and get a free bagel. When did, the girl at the window gave me a disgusted look, and handed me the bag, yep you guessed it, the bagel was improperly sliced, what a waste of time and money. A simple yet difficult task. This location is usually great. However, the last few times I've gone, they have a total idiot guy working at the drive thru window. Today I ordered a bagel with a decaf coffee. When I got to the window, I asked if he could double check that it was decaf because I have a health condition that doesn't allow me to have caffeine. He said "Even decaf has caffeine" and handed me the drink. Didn't check anything. Was just as rude as can be. Then he walked away from the window and no one came back for over 5 minutes to give me my bagel. Several bad experiences here, today was the third strike. The past few times before today the staff was completely clueless how to slice and toast a bagel. This happened in back to back visits and my wife had to explain the process to the staff for them to get it right. First time, we were handed an over-toasted bagel sliced like a loaf of bread. The next time, the teenage employee was clearly not trained on how to use the slicing machine. I have an idea, use a knife. On second thought, do not put a knife near any of these clueless people. This resulted in a 10 minute wait for a toasted bagel! Today we decided to give it one last try and guess what, no bagel issues because they were completely OUT OF BAGELS! read more

Where do I start? The latest issue involved items missing from our order and having to return to the store to get them. Then they offer you pastries at night, no thanks! How about a refund! Before that it was the free gift cards that came with a $50 gift card purchase. Went to use them and they had zero balance. Thankfully corporate customer service fixed that. Then there was the day I ordered in the store and my salad was missing chicken! Seriously, how hard is it? It's your job! Then there was the time we ordered online and half the items weren't available. So then we started ordering in the store, same problem. Or else missing items. I wanted to understand the delivery charge Panera Bread requires on all delivered orders so I called the Customer Service Help Line: First got "Dan": he said the delivery charge is for upkeep of equipment and fuel. I asked what equipment needed upkeep and he said they used company cars. Talked to our Admin Assistant who sits in our lobby, and she said a Panera employee confirmed they do NOT use company cars, and in fact one of our drivers was out of work for a while when his car had broken down and he couldn't deliver. Called back Customer Service Got "John": told him all above and he said "let me get my manager." He never came back to the phone. I hung up and called again and got "Chris": told her all above and she put me on hold, came back and said the delivery fee is for delivery packaging, bags, bowls, etc. AND said that each store decides if they are charging delivery fee or not. Panera does not require them to charge the delivery fee. read more

Terrible. Ordered bagel with butter, was told they are out of butter. Ordered oatmeal, it came out late, not with the rest of the order, and was still frozen in the middle. It was about 1030 and not at all crowded. When the oatmeal finally did come heated this time, was very poor quality. It was basically a big clump of solid oatmeal taking up a very small amount of space in a bowl. Usually big Panera fans, we will not be returning to this one. read more

When I asked for my side to be bread, but not the end piece please. the drive thru intercom person said repeating my order if it can be helped no end piece, with an attitude... guess who got an end piece in her bag. Customer service needs work. I work in the service industry and we make every effort possible to make the customer happy. An end piece is a small thing to ask.
