Wow! We were visiting from out of town and came here for lunch. We really enjoyed the Street tacos as well as the chips and salsa. Everything tasted authentic and was served fresh and hot. The service here was wonderful and we even met the owner's son who shared a little bit about their business. We love supporting small and local while traveling, and we will definitely be back when we are in town again.

    It's a small spot.

A Mexican diner. That means only not overly large menu you can get a few standard Mexican dishes, but also choose from American breakfast classics -- and even toasted ravioli as a nod to St. Louis cuisine. Everything is available as long as Mario's is open. Our party of four was impressed when the owner came over to check on our meals and talk with us, and then several minutes later remembered and thanked each of us by name as we exited.

Top right- Breakfast tacos, center Huevos Divorciados and left center- Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast

Just went for Dinner last week 10/10 and had to bring my wife for breakfast/brunch. Started with a Marg and a Modelo- what else we have!! Again, everything was top quality with just the right amount of Heat! Red sauce/green sauce on the Huevos Divorciados accented the easy fried eggs and pan-fried (rather than oil fried) home fries. My wife had the Breakfast Tacos and subbed the chorizo for ham. Fresh tortillas were perfect. Loved it! And for our sweetness we had the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast. Not overly sweet with the fantastic whipped cream cheese filling. It was like a mascarpone but very creamy! No need for any syrup. Don't miss this item!

Was crushing the streets and found Mario's Cafe. Located on Main Street in O Fallon, Mario's is a fresh spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We stopped by on a Sunday morning and saw a very busy cafe. We were seated without any issues and was welcomed by Mario the owner and our server. Very friendly staff and provided the specials for the day. Mario's has both traditional breakfast options as well as a Hispanic options. We went with Mexican breakfast and was impressed with the authenticity of the dishes. Prices were reasonable and service was great. I do recommend trying the Mexican breakfast options as there aren't many restaurants serving Latin cuisine in the mornings. Highly recommend and will be back!!

Great small business. Visited for breakfast. Service with a smile. It's a quaint space so not ideal for extremely large group. Breakfast tacos were amazing.

Breakfast food was good. The hash browns had a seasoning in them you would expect on fries which tasted good. I would go back.

Excellent food, service and drinks. Open ALL day so you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Menu has many options. Outdoor patio is an added plus!

We brought our own Mario to Mario's in O'Fallon!

Fantastic authentic Mexican restaurant. Do not hesitate to go. But be careful to order the jalapeños, cause they bring the heat at Mario's!

When you enter there's a seating area of booths to the left. If you continue further there's another little space of seats, a full L shaped bar, and more seating in the bar area as well as an outside patio with seating. I definitely recommend coming before dinner time. If you come for dinner be prepared to wait. If you want to eat here with a large party I recommend asking about a reservation otherwise I'd advise against due to how busy it gets! I'm not a fav of the chips & salsa as the salsa isn't flavorful or chunky enough to me. For those like myself who prefer spice & more flavor I recommend getting their salsa picante & mixing the 2, so much better! Their margaritas are good, I prefer the blood orange vest but they have a large selection of marg flavors and a full bar. For food I've had the nachos, tamales, enchiladas (I recommend the enchiladas de pollo verdes), tacos, and chimichanga. I got my parents hooked on the tamales! I love that they serve them as not a lot of Mexican restaurants do here & I love that they put meat both inside and on top of them. The establishment is always clean, the staff is always friendly & welcoming, and you can tell theirs homemade recipes coming out of the kitchen. I recommend ending your meal with the churros! Overall their price point, staff efficiency, and the consistency with the food makes this the best Mexican restaurant I've had in the area which is why I keep coming back & would bring guests here.

They have a big parking lot and it was still rather busy on this Tuesday evening of my visit. It's a casual atmosphere and there were plenty of open seats when I visited. We decided to sit at the bar and we were immediately greeted and offered chips & salsa and they were ready for our drink order. I chose the fresh squeezed Cadillac margarita. It was very good and refreshing. We were brought chips and salsa that were better than average. My dining companion ordered other kinds of salsa that were quite spicy, and I liked it mixed with the regular salsa. I ordered the cheese tamale plate that came with three large cheese tamales, fluffy rice, a small lettuce and tomato mound, and vegetarian pinto beans that were quite tasty. The highlight of this visit was the staff. Five stars! They know how to treat customers well.

It is a bit of a drive for us and I don't see a return visit in the future. Ms T ordered a quesadilla with chicken. The tortilla was dry. The cheese and chicken were skimpy, coming nowhere near the edge of the tortilla and the chicken was just cooked chicken with no seasoning, no salt. My huevos rancheros came with the strangest salsa on them. They were served with a tortilla underneath, which is as they should be, but the sauce was almost clear, like broth thickened with cornstarch. It had a bit of tomato, but no chile and no seasonings. It was what I call wallpaper paste for anyone old enough to know what that is. The refritos and rice were fine, not remarkable. The guacamole was decent, not an onion bomb. I also ordered a side of carnitas, which would have been good had they not been served at room temperature. I asked for corn tortillas and received more of the dry flour tortillas that Ms T had for her quesadilla. The salsa served with the complimentary totopos was the best thing of the meal but that does not warrant a return visit.

We also ordered a side of queso cheese sauce which made everything taste better. Their salsa is very good too. The have a good variety of Mexican Beers and they are very cold. Parking in this area can be a little tight, but we managed to find a spot without too much trouble. Once inside, we were surprised by how spacious the restaurant is. Even with the dinner crowd, we were seated right away. The atmosphere was lively, especially with the USA vs. Paraguay World Cup match playing on every TV. It created the perfect backdrop for a post‑game meal. I decided to try something new from their menu: the Aguachile Steak. It was outstanding. The steak is prepared in a vinegar-based style similar to escabeche, giving it a bright, tangy flavor that really stands out. My wife and sons enjoyed their meals just as much, and everyone left happy and full. The service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, fast, and attentive.
