Wow! We were visiting from out of town and came here for lunch. We really enjoyed the Street tacos as well as the chips and salsa. Everything tasted authentic and was served fresh and hot. The service here was wonderful and we even met the owner's son who shared a little bit about their business. We love supporting small and local while traveling, and we will definitely be back when we are in town again.

A Mexican diner. That means only not overly large menu you can get a few standard Mexican dishes, but also choose from American breakfast classics -- and even toasted ravioli as a nod to St. Louis cuisine. Everything is available as long as Mario's is open. Our party of four was impressed when the owner came over to check on our meals and talk with us, and then several minutes later remembered and thanked each of us by name as we exited.

Just went for Dinner last week 10/10 and had to bring my wife for breakfast/brunch. Started with a Marg and a Modelo- what else we have!! Again, everything was top quality with just the right amount of Heat! Red sauce/green sauce on the Huevos Divorciados accented the easy fried eggs and pan-fried (rather than oil fried) home fries. My wife had the Breakfast Tacos and subbed the chorizo for ham. Fresh tortillas were perfect. Loved it! And for our sweetness we had the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast. Not overly sweet with the fantastic whipped cream cheese filling. It was like a mascarpone but very creamy! No need for any syrup. Don't miss this item!

This was our second visit for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I like to start my day with savory, my husband likes sweet. I ordered the Chilaquiles, he ordered the Pancake breakfast. What is that sweet, almost tart flavor of their pancakes....they are hard to resist! But my Chilaquiles plate of crispy tortilla chips with green chili sauce (I added some of their red sauce too!), lots of tasty pulled chicken, the perfectly fried eggs, sour cream, lots of sliced ripe avocado and the queso fresco was creamy, rich, generous and very filling. The chili sauce (both the green and red) is mild but has a nice fresh flavor. No regrets about my choice. I wouldn't be afraid of a little more heat from the chilies, though. Was crushing the streets and found Mario's Cafe. Located on Main Street in O Fallon, Mario's is a fresh spot to enjoy breakfast or lunch. We stopped by on a Sunday morning and saw a very busy cafe. We were seated without any issues and was welcomed by Mario the owner and our server. Very friendly staff and provided the specials for the day. Small but mighty! This little place is a gem! Mario owns another amazing restaurant in OFallon so we had to check out his new cafe. Food and service were top notch! It's a cute little place nestled in OFallon off of Main Street. They have a full bar and menu that is all served all day, even pancakes! The cuisine is Mexican and American-small menu with plenty of goodies to choose from. Stop in and give this new local business some love, you won't be sorry! read more

I seriously cannot stop boasting about how much I love this place! I've tried multiple items on the menu and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, flavorful, and generously portioned. Every employee I've interacted with has always been so kind and always smiling and laughing with regular customers. The dining area is a bit small, it's comfortable and cozy! Stumbled upon Mario's and wow, we were blown away. Definitely what this area is missing. We had the breakfast tacos and loved every bite. Owner was super personalizable and lovely. 10/10! Selfishly I just hope it doesn't become too crowded once word gets out because the place is small! read more

We visited Mario's Cafe for the first time this morning and ordered breakfast. The service was awesome. The coffee was strong, just how I like it. We had the breakfast tacos, loaded home fries, pancake & sausage breakfast plate, and the strawberry cream cheese French toast. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. My favorite were the breakfast tacos but I tried the pancakes and they were so good I might have to get those next time. They were crispy edges and perfectly sweet. The hash browns were made to order (extra crispy) and actually seasoned! Most restaurants severely under season their food but Mario's cafe was so good. We will definitely be back and would recommend you try it too. read more

Great food and service, the homemade gravy is as good as you will find anywhere. We have yet to try a dish and be disappointed. From any of their breakfast plates to their tortas and tacos. If you don't like something about the environment, service, or food, I would look within because there isn't much to complain about at this place. Try it and you will agree IMHO of course. read more

Our first time at Mario's Cafe! We sat on the patio and it was so welcoming! Ordered each a frozen line Margarita and the ordered cheese and chips, which was so yummy! Then we ordered our dinner which we both got three tacos, some with corn tortillas and some with flour. Both came with black beans. The evening was very nice with the sunset! They are open for breakfast and lunch and dinner!! If you haven't been yet, please check them out, you will not be disappointed! We met the owner and some family, also named Mario! This unique sweet, fruity, and spiced flavor, is a staple in Peru. I had the Arroz con Mariscos: Peruvian style rice paella; creamy yellow pepper sauce mixed with shrimp, calamari, scallops, mussels, red peppers and aromatic cilantro. A flavor party in your mouth! Plenty for two people or to share if you do family style. I also had a side of Yuca fries - definitely get the yuca fries! The arroz con mariscos is part of the Trio Marino: Sampler plate of Arroz con Mariscos Ceviche de Pescado and Chicharrón de Pescado. The Ceviche is mouth watering good.
