I could see someone counting paper plates or something with no effort to acknowledge I was standing at the registers. Someone finally took my order, and it felt like it took forever even though I knew exactly what I wanted. I'm glad I asked for a receipt because while I was w a i t i n g for my order I finally asked about an update when I saw someone and she asked if I had my order which I saved my receipt so voila! Service is very poor. They don't withhold their breakfast times and some employees say some rules, while other employees say completely different rules on modifying sandwiches. We are loyal customers who purchase sandwiches 2+ times per week, but we had enough with the service. Management is not professional and needs to be taught by upper management to serve customers according to company standards. We will be talking to corporate regarding our recent issues. Placed a Rapid pickup order via their app. Scheduled for 20 minutes after I ordered...normal is a 10 minute wait. Received a text at the time the order was scheduled to be ready to say it was ready for pick up. Was told at the counter they were still working on it. Finally received the order 25 minutes later. They had substituted multiple bagels I had requested without letting me know and the bagel sandwich I ordered had the wrong bagel (jalapeño instead of everything) and wrong egg (scrambled instead of over-easy egg). On Saturday, I ordered 3 off pretty much all the bagels that were available, except for a few. What I did ask for were 3 Sesame and for them to be cut in half. My daughter picked them up and not knowing where they were at she asked where they were. They said the wall with the cubbies. She asked where that wall is and she said they became irritated and showed her. She came back home, none of them sliced in half and no sesame bagels and one jalapeño begal. Due to stomach issues I can't eat anything spicy. Since everything was in one bag, you can smell the jalapeños on the other bagels. Some of the bagels were semi hard. We threw those out. Overall, they will not get my service anymore. I'll take the extra 15 minute drive to Stockton's bagel shop. read more

This place always looks like it's closed. The lights are dim and at our last visit in December it was freezing inside. I had to keep my coat on. My husband asked why the sign was off and on our way out we saw they turned it on. The employees are very lackluster. I'm sure they'd prefer it look like they were closed so they wouldn't have to do anything. We also said our order was for inside dining and they packed it up to go. I go here often, I love the subscription to their coffee that gives me unlimited coffee for the month. I do curbside orders and they are usually pretty quick once I pull up. I asked for my sandwich cut bc I was going to eat it driving to work, they said they can't--totally cool, I get how specific and strange corporate businesses can be, so I completed my order. I pulled up to the window and saw them blatantly talking about the issue, pointing to the window and making obvious hand gestures toward the window. When the dude came to the window he explained to me as if I had an issue and I said it was cool, I was never upset and I get how it can be--but maybe they shouldn't talk about their guests in the open where they can see them. Then he proceeded to tell me off like I was stupid, even had no issue cussing at me. I've been apart of restaurants for over 10 years now, have the decency to go behind closed doors or expect to get corrected bc you clocked in to do a job and provide a service, not ruin someone's day because they asked for their fucking breakfast sandwich cut in half. Today we showed up at Panera in Manteca to have soup and a sandwich. Well they were not offering any soup at all, ok so my second choice would be a panini sandwich. Guess what? No paninis either. Alright then salad it is. I ordered a salad, hubby ordered a steak and Swiss sandwich and Ceasars salad. His sandwich was soggy dripping wet from the oil from the cheese, my salad was just barley ok with the core of the lettuce still in tact in my bowl of salad along with it being a bit soggy as well. This place always runs out of stuff!! And the employees here are always clueless about a lot of things. A few weeks ago, I ordered a Thai Spicy Chicken Salad and I got the Asian Sesame Salad instead. Like I know some of the ingredients are similar but how do you confuse a Thai salad that has ingredients like edamame in it with an Asian Sesame Salad that has nothing but lettuce, chicken, and sesame seeds?? Also, normally when I have had messed up orders or something from other Panera locations, they usually give me a free pastry for the trouble. And I know when I visit any Panera location, it says if the order is not right, they'll fix it up and they'll give you a free treat for the trouble. NOPE! Didn't get that at all. Speaking of pastries, they're always out of pastries. I once ordered an orange scone and they were out. Tried to go for something else like the pecan braid, they were out of that too. Then, I tried going for a pumpkin muffin! But no pumpkin muffin either! Like what the heck?! This place is definitely not the same compared to how it used to be about three years ago. I am a regular at this location and service and food use to be great. Now it's horrible. The wait time is way too long and just to wait for a item that you didn't even order. This has happened multiple times in the past few months. I even have missing items too. Every time I go to this Panera the service, and attitude of the staff, gets worse and worse, particularly the morning crew who are more in tune with gossiping and giggling in the back than actually ensuring their customers get the correct order or can request the dozens of things not available (or run out) up front like silverware, butter, stir sticks etc. This morning was the final straw as they subbed in a different item for a preordered (2 hours earlier so lots of warning) mobile order, snuck it in, then acted like I was being irrational when I called them out on it. The shift lead/manager Alexis was particularly condescending, making things as difficult to resolve as possible. Laughable when their receipt literally says 'your order should be correct the first time or we'll fix it'. They did neither. Food is acceptable - given its one of the few quick service places in town with a good salad selection they know they have a firm grip on the market - but the consistency in what you get varies wildly from visit to visit. Again, staff cutting corners or just not giving a rip. I wish there was a good option available to replace them. read more

I'm a big fan of Panera quality and menu, I'm usually not a big stickler on customer service as long as my food is made fresh and or to order. My only issue with this location is that they have a very bad habit of not listening to customers orders , confirming customer orders and making the correct orders. As a regular customer, about 50% of the time I am forced to go back to the location or call the location due to incorrect orders. The first 2-3 times wasn't a big deal and the managers seemed to be apologetic and helpful over the phone but my most recent discrepancies were met with a bit of attitude and unpleasant tones as if I was causing an inconvenience . Wich is very unfortunate due to the fact that I'm usually commuting when I place my order and I really rely on my meal being accurate and fresh when breakfast or lunch time comes around. With some small improvements with operation training, I believe this location can raise the bar of quality of service and accuracy of customer satisfaction. Customers shouldn't feel like we're at fault for our orders being made incorrect, and we shouldn't be burdened with the constant inconvenience of having to speak with managers to get our orders remade. Its bad when you go to the location to get a refund and there are other patrons in line with incorrect orders , and even worse if the manager recognizes you from past incorrect orders. That being said, as a customer make sure you double check your order before they ring you up, and again TRIPLE check your order before leaving drive thru or lobby. It's not worth the waste of time to go back and forth constantly. read more

This is a review for my drive thru order placed at their order speaker at about 6pm. I was the only car in the drive thru and there were not very many cars in the lot, so I know there were not busy, I was even questioning if they were open. I waited a while before they even spoke to me, then asked if I had any questions, I told them no I was waiting for them to place my order. I placed my order and drove to the window. From the window it appeared they were fully staffed as I saw a lot of people working. They did not give us the soup that was ordered, but another soup that is flavorless. The sandwiches were mediocre tasting. They were out of the cookie we wanted. Of course we were unaware of the wrong soup until I got home. I called to see if they could give me credit on my rewards account for the soup and I was told, no they I would have to drive back to get the right soup. This location is not exactly close to my home, so I was not using my very expensive gasoline to drive back to get the correct soup. They could have offered some type of credit to my rewards account but flat out said the only way it could be remedied was for me to comeback to the store. Today I purchased 2 coffees & 2 bagels. Upon adding the cream and sugar while mixing I noticed something in the coffee. A plastic wrapper almost thought it was a condom for second. I called them and they didn't seem to be concern about it, not sure if they get similar phone calls for the same issues, either way check your coffees before drinking.
