And I don't mean just "I got tomatoes when I ask for no tomatoes" (which happens too), I mean "I ordered a chicken salad sandwich on my lunch break, drove back to work, and realized Panera gave me a tuna salad sandwich and now I'm screwed". The phone number and app makes it impossible to rectify the issue. There have been so many times I have to throw out my money and not have lunch because of Panera. Let's be clear about this. I eat eggs all day. I might have sausage for lunch. When you have breakfast items advertised and you have nothing on your signs saying you stopped serving breakfast at any particular time then you should post that prior to me waiting in line to get up to the register to be told: prepare to be disappointed. It's totally nonsensical and arbitrary to not have a customer order what they want. I want eggs at 11:05 a.m. . I want sausage at 11:05 a.m. just because the clock is ticked by 5 minutes past your nonsensical I decided to stop making eggs time doesn't mean you can't make the customer happy and make him some eggs. No worries though. So instead of spending $25 they get nothing and they can choke on it. Lord do NOT eat at this particular Panera Bread. I got lunch and a drink. The drink was their Black Tea from a dispenser fountain. I drank my first glass of tea and when I went back for a refill I noticed something was not right. I looked in the top of the dispenser and there was green mold floating on the top of the machine. I notified someone and they came over and immediately removed it and cleaned it and replaced the product. My problem is with Jodi the so called manager, I called her to notify them of the problem. She informed me that it was not mold but bubbles, YA that's right she said they were bubbles. When was the last time anyone has seen chunky GREEN bubble floating in a drink?????? My husband and I frequent the Penera in Willoughby, but decided to check out the newly built one on 7373 Mentor Ave in Mentor. I ordered the pick two flatbread pizza and green goddess salad. The waitress was very friendly. When I got my salad the first thing I noticed was the bacon, it was right out the pack, and it laid on my salad, the fat from the bacon was cold and white and thick. One of the girls responded to me that's how it's done. I explained this is the only salad I get from Penera and that is not true and to just give me a refund. Only ONE kiosk was open to take orders, sat in the drive though for 5 minutes with no communication with ANY employees, and the desk was even closed to take orders. This is probably the WORST service I have ever gotten in a Panera. These employees need to be trained better, or they need to go get lessons on how to SPEAK TO HUMANS. Why do I have to take my own freaking order. AND THEN I AM EXPECTED TO TIP! Hell no. They were so slow I couldn't even get my food. Ridiculous. I've been going to one or another Panera bread for the last 10 years. I've found them to be convenient, high quality and pretty reasonable with quick service, that was until they decided to improve, or so, they thought their services. They closed down the old Panera for pretty much a year or so at Points East Plaza in Mentor to build a separate building and a drive-through. My friend and I decided to stop in there yesterday for a quick lunch, and ended up waiting for our food for a half hour. When we walked in, we had our choice of using the computers to place our order or go to the counter and I guess to do the drive-through, which we opted out of. Looking back we should've picked that because it seemed like people are getting their food a lot faster that way. We placed an order with a very unfriendly woman who was not helpful at all. She had an attitude and made os both feel like we were really bothering her just by being there. That should've been our first clue. Believe me, it's not like we ordered something very fancy. I ordered a half of a ham sandwich and a side salad. It's not one specific price anymore now when you order two halves, it's whatever each item costs, so now they can't give you a price until they see which two you pick. Then we waited and waited and waited. There were two ladies that were sitting at the table and we asked them how long they had been waiting and they said quite a long time and after about 20 minutes they finally gave her a coffee drink and then another five minutes later they give them their food. They didn't look any happier than we were, then the guests started to pile up waiting for their food. Now mind you, this is after 2 o'clock in the afternoon. My guess is when you try and do too many convenience things for your clients you're not going to do anything well. They're making food for people going through the drive-through as well as taking orders from the computers and then they're taking orders from the front counter. It's totally unacceptable to go into a Panera and have to wait a half hour for your food. I think from now on I'm gonna go across the street to Zoup because they have salads, soups and sandwiches and they're always quick and delicious. I'm pretty much done with Panera. read more

Work is less than a mile away and last time I tried to get delivery they wanted to charge $4.99-none of which went to the driver of course. I love Panera. I just moved to Ohio and was excited to go to my local Panera. From walking in no one greeted me...although there was employees behind the counter. Majority of the tables were dirty and stayed that way during my time there. I decided to try the new "The Spicy Take Chicken Sandwich" and asked if I could add avocado which they said yes to. I was not given a pager while I waited even though they had them there...my name was never called on. So when I picked up my food it was cold. Microwave was dirty. & I was missing the avocado which I came back for and the gentleman apologized that he couldn't add it but I could have it on the side. Always held this place to high standards based on their reputation, but was so disappointed in my lunch. Ordered the soup and half sandwich. Soup was French Onion - first taste was out of a can. It had four cubes of bread and some inconspicuous traces of cheese under the broth. Half sandwich was the steak and white cheddar ... I was disgusted. I'm not the type to make a scene by returning it (let alone for a half sandwich), so I just threw it out. The first location I was at was in another state, and the food was disgusting and overpriced; I got a ham and cheese sandwich and what I received was a single piece of ham on a bun. Used the online ordering today and rapid pickup feature, but when I arrive to grab my order - it sat alone on a dirty shelf and the side of bread laying on top of the bag not covered/wrapped. Walked in ordered Bowl Broc. Chedder, half sandwich Bacon Turkey Bravo and a Frontega Chicken. Get my receipt, 3 items, all priced $7.19. Makes no sense; Examining closely, it appears they only ordered half Frontega and priced and priced the Bowl of soup and half sandwich individually, instead of as a "You pick Two". Unfortunately a steady stream of customers came in right after me and I waited patiently for the cahier to have a moment. Finally, she had a moment, handed her my receipt and asked her exactly what I ordered. It was two half sandwiches and a Bowl of soup. I told her I had ordered a Full frontega and I should have had the "You Pick Two Price". She said I did not ask for the "you Pick Two" thus, it was priced individually; did I wish to speak to her manager. "Yes Please" I said. Manager came over; said the same thing; can not give me the better price because I didn't ask for it. That is Panera Policy. I told them that any other fast food restaurant would give you their best price if the order qualified for it. The Manager said Paneras' policy is you have to ask for the best price!! This is how Panera values their customers. Take as much advantage as possible and charge the maximum price possible. I think the Panera down the road on Route 306 is better. It's bigger and cleaner. I went in on Saturday for a Chocolate Chip bagel, the lines were long and they didn't have any chocolate chip bagels less. I settled with a pumpkin bagel, overly the bagel was good. I love Panera food. I really do. But they royally screwed up. My husband and I came to eat there on a Sunday afternoon. I got a chicken panini and my husband got a chicken Cesar salad. Got our food. Sat down. He had no chicken. 'Okay,' you think, 'that's not a big problem.' He was able to get the chicken for his salad. Well, we were also picking up food to bring home to my parents. Ordered their food and was asked to wait down at the other end. In front of us was a lady who was missing several items out of her order. We were kind of thinking to ourselves 'that's lame.' Got the food and I looked at it and saw we were missing two pecan rolls. Asked about it and they said it was up front. I remarked " she said everything would be down here." They said no all pastries are up front. I'm like "okay." Go up and find our pecan rolls on the counter just sitting there. Grab it and go. Run to target next door and head home. I should have looked even better. The grilled cheese for the pick two with soup was not there. My mom was upset she had no sandwich to go with her soup, my husband angrily leaves to go pick up the $10 half of bread and cheese. I called and made an order for pick-up for lunch for the President of my work. The two women I spoke to on the phone were not friendly or helpful as I was asking questions because I had never ordered from here before. I asked for a specific time to pick up (an hour ahead) for a sandwich and a salad. I also asked if it would be alright that the drinks be ready and for a drink holder as I would be in a hurry and once again mentioning it was a run for my boss. When I arrived I waited in what could be called a line - but it was more like people standing in a group waiting to get noticed. Someone came from the back and eventually decided to help some of the customers only to walk away once it was my turn. I stood some more at the counter while people on the other side ran past as if I were not standing there. The woman from the back came back to the counter after she saw what I could imagine to be a look of disgust on my face. I then told her my name and that I was waiting on my order I placed to pick up. It had been sitting in my plain view this entire time. She showed me 2 cups explaining that the paper one was for the coffee and the plastic for the iced tea and then threw the empty cups into the bag. I was already late so I didn't say anything about it and began running from one side of the place to the other to get the drinks together. I then returned to the counter to ask for the drink holder because I could not safely carry 2 drinks and one big bag. Once again I was met with no one to help me and later still. I could not wait again to be noticed so I left juggling my purchase out to my car.
