I got the chance to visit this OG back during the holidays with some family as a fun dinner out. Our group had 7 people, so I figured we were looking at a little bit of wait. This was not the case, as it only took about 5-7 minutes to get seated. The lady running the host stand seemed a little disorganized but seemed to have a way to keep things together. It wasn't super busy since it was early evening but the rush wasn't far away. For the amount of guests the noise level wasn't too bad either. As far as I could tell the floors/furniture/decor was clean, though I wasn't looking too much at it. Our waiter was very nice and his attitude made for a cheery atmosphere. He was helpful with guidance of the menu and patient with questions. The breadsticks were on par with that classic flavor we all know and love. The salad was just as good and was fresh and flavorful. The Fettuccine Alfredo was perfect, with the right balance of sauce. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal overall. Always great service at this Olive Garden. I'm a steak lover as well, so this is an unusual place to get a really nice steak with a side of Alfredo.. but it works. First I must give a shout out to George R and Grace W for their spectacular service - they are assets to this location! Ask to be seated in their section the next time you visit! I must tell you that my husband hates (despises is a better word) pasta and cheese but he LOVES Olive garden salad and the Salmon dish in particular... I'm an eggplant parm and minestrone girl all the way so we visit frequently! I love that they have a reduced portion eggplant parmesan so I don't have to bring anything home. The ambience is, well, Olive Garden and it's always packed and a little loud but we try to go early. Just go, you won't regret it! read more

My very first visit at a OG restaurant. I heard bad and good things about it. Too loud, lots of kids, lousy food etc. i went it on a sunday night at 8h00 A bored young man was at the welcome stand. There was not one table in the bar section that was clean, all full of dirty dishes. No one around , not even staff. as i got the the dinning room , i found all the staff sitting and preparing silverware for tomorrow's shift. Diamond was the name of my server. With a big smile she took my drink and food order. i ordered the mozzarella sticks and the Italian tour. Both were delicious and a good portion. Our server Grace was rude and forgot about us multiple times. We asked for separate checks and she brought it out all in one and forgot about the birthdays. Literally could not eat the food it was so salty. we played with the machine at the table and didn't realize it was trying to charge us money until we got the check. If we hadn't looked at the check, we would've just paid that extra money. The server took it off, but I find that to be a very underhanded and shady tactic that Olive Garden is using to pad their income I was nostalgic for the salad and breadsticks, but I'll never step foot in an Olive Garden again. The wait wasn't that long and actually the best part of the dinner. We chose not to eat at the bar and wait for a table. After almost 30 minutes, we got called and seated at table number 1. You don't want this table. It's a round table IN the bar, too big for two people, and directly across from the host station. The hostess was loud and nonstop talking albeit doing her job. It was irritating. Also, a couple waiting for their table decided to open some paperwork on the corner of our booth behind me, to talk about their travel plans. Kids were doing their girl cheers and clapping behind me. Service was good. The fettuccine was dry buttered noodles with very little cheese sauce. The chicken on top, which was 4.99 extra, was supposed to be crunchy. It wasn't and seemed like it was sitting around in the oven. It was mushy breading. Our waitress was friendly, but a little slow.. we came around noon so it wasn't packed at all, so I imagine she may have just started her shift and might've not been in that work flow yet? The food was... well... we never got any! We had ordered fairly quickly and we ate salad and bread sticks for over 45 minutes. The server was great though but we couldn't waste any more time there. My husband ordered the never ending pasta! I e had kids and we had a whole day planned so we left after an hour of just eating bread and salad. Awful place. An oldie but a goodie. With CoVid and all the restrictions, it has been over 2 years since we've had the salad, breadstick and pasta combo from Olive Garden. First thing to note is that the menu has been shrunk WAY down!! All the favorites are still there; Chicken Parm, Lasagna, the Tour of Italy etc.. sadly my mushroom ravioli did not make it on the new menu... but I do not hold a grudge . For the two people and the ferret who actually read the nonsense I post on this waste of time website, you know that I hate going to chain Italian restaurants. Why? Because to me overall it's a giant ripoff. Noodles and cheese is somehow worth $14? I think not. It's a total hose job and the few times I go I always feel cheated. This visit to OG was more or less still the same. It was wet/messy/rainy day and we just had gotten done walking the grounds of the Garfield National Historic Site. On the way back to the highway we drove by here as a goof and saw signs that they had opened for inside dining the day prior. While in our area of PA this type of science fiction didn't happen for another month, we figured we would give it a go just for the novelty of it. Good: Every employee was wearing masks and the spray bottle to employee ratio was probably 3:1. Nice! Not Good: While their take out and carside pickup services were doing good business, in terms of inside seating it was only us and four other tables. Ironically, they had all five tables seated in the same general clustered area around the bar and we were on the only patrons who were wearing masks upon entering/exiting/heading to the can since there was no rule about patrons wearing masks inside. #not smart Chicken Alfredo - Five Cheese Ziti - Eggplant Parm Everyone more or less enjoyed what they had but as I mentioned prior, the pricing of the Ziti at $14 is surreal. The portion size is decent but not great and there is next to nothing past noodles, sauce and cheese which for that price is always a ripoff unless you've got a little Italian grandma in the back making her own sauce and noodles by hand. Let me also expound on one other thing that was odd. The temperatures of the soup. We got two different types and each came out at an unholy temp that screamed that they had just come straight from the microwave. I mean if the soup portions are not nuked then I assume that the pot in the back must be kept at a constant boil to get that kind of heat. Overall no one got sick and it fit the bill for sustenance but it also reminded about why we hadn't been to a OG in ?? (ten or more years) and why I can't imagine that we'll be back anytime soon. Gave this place another chance. The food overall was much better but it's still a fast paced service once you are done waiting for a table. Disappointed to have our salad served just as we dug into our calamari. The Chicken Giardino was very flavorful, nice portion size. I took my partner here for his birthday, and it's sad to say I'll never come here again. Olive Garden has fallen off. I ate this food, and had to run to the bathroom 30mins after. I got the infinite soup with breadsticks and salad, the soup tasted like it's straight from a can and microwaved. The salad was the only decent thing there. The good and bad of Olive Garden in Mentor. We haven't been to this location since the Covid outbreak. We have always enjoyed the food here. However, on August 31, 2023, during lunch, not so much. PROs: * Price: Prices for smaller lunches are really good, and you receive a lot of food. Soup, salad, and breadsticks are $8.99, and the chicken Parm with spaghetti, salad, and breadsticks is only $10.99. * Service: The server was friendly, and the service was fast. Drinks were always refilled before being empty. CONs: * Breadsticks: The breadsticks have changed dramatically since we were last here. They used to be rounded, fluffier long breadsticks with a lot of flavor. Now, they are flat for the most part, which creates a different texture (not light and fluffy) and have very little flavor. * Meatballs: We used to love the meatballs, but now they have a spongey texture. * Chicken Parm: The chicken Parm used to be my favorite here. This chicken Parm seemed microwaved based on the texture; it was rubbery. The flavor was good, but I couldn't get over the rubbery texture. * Sauce: the sauce was watery - it's possible the spaghetti wasn't drained well before being placed on the plate. I have 3 stars for the service and price even though the poor food quality outweighs those pros. Came here one night while working. The specials are amazing i don't usually get to eat at places like these so its a treat when i do. I get the endless pasta bowl. I get the fettuccini and chicken and switch with shrimp. The chicken is so good and chrisp with a breading also the sauce is rich and creamy between the salad and the dinner bread you fill up fast nothing like a full belly for a low cost. I like sitting at the bar you always get served first and your constantly checked on which is good. But this is a great location and everyone seems to be friendly and it seems clean and I will defiantly be back read more

We weren't really happy with any of the Olive Gardens in the area for the first year since moving here, but find this one has really turned around. The food comes out nice and hot now (which we really like, can't stand luke warm soup or meals) and the service has been fantastic our last two visits. Shout out to Gabe and Ian! Maybe it's because we come for a late lunch now instead of dinner, it seems a lot more chill of a time so they came take their time on the food, even though it's still busy. The service when you first come in had a terrible attitude, they told us their would be a 40min wait when online it says that their was no wait. The employee were laughing and playing on their phone and being very unprofessional. When our wait was up they seated The party that came after us first then seated us after and said it didn't matter who came first. So far this is a terrible experience and they need to stop hiring children that are unprofessional and train the staff to be more considerate and professional. read more
