Not the worst Panera I've ever visited (that honor goes to White Plains--don't bother going there after 6pm because they won't have any food left) but this location has some serious service and logistics issues. First, the good things: the café is generally kept pretty clean and the food is consistently pretty fresh and tasty. The bad: from what I can tell, the location is just very poorly managed. They often seem very understaffed at busy times and the staff they do have is slow and...I don't know the best way to say this...incompetent? You have to tell them every item you want at least twice (go slow so they can keep up) and then half the time they forget that you ordered a pastry or soda, so you have to remind them. And, when there is a huge line to order I expect other employees to jump on the register and help out, but many times you will see even managers just wandering around the café while a single employee takes orders. Then there is the issue of chronically running out of food before closing. That shouldn't happen when you're a national chain with, I presume, a logistics system in place to track how much bread you need on a given day. It's not just "we're out of x flavor of bagel at 8pm." When they first introduced the flatbreads this location had no flatbreads every time I went in for three weeks straight. I'm always hearing the kitchen staff yelling up to the front end that they are out of bread bowls, baguettes, avocado, apples, chips, etc. Finally, the iced tea is always weak, but I can overlook that if the service would improve. . . read more

So Im late. Panera has been in my area for a while and I just started eating there. The food is pretty good. Unfortunately, on 2 different occasions we have found labels in our food. The first time we ate in the store my husband found a label in his salad. It was at the bottom and he was almost done so we let it slide. I love Panera but this one truly sucks. Who manages this place ?! I stopped in to get lunch around 1. There were 2 cashiers, but the line was moving slowly. The cashier wasn't rude but not friendly and seemed that she hated her job. There are about 6 people in the kitchen area running around like chickens with their heads cut off. Servers arguing about whose job it is to serve what tables. This place is a mess!! I just ordered a turkey sandwich and salad and have been waiting for over 15 minutes. This is the worst Panera I have ever been to. Horrible services, the staff is inexperienced, rude, and depressed. Half if them are kids. If you don't like to work at Panera then you should quit! The guys behind the food processing counter are so SLOW and mix orders up. They absolutely do not pay attention what they are doing! I ordered an Italian sandwich and the guy who made it said: "oh, I hate these sandwiches to wrap!" - you know what? If you hate it then you should find another job! Nobody wants to hear your complaints, especially customers not! Do not complain, just do your job FASTER! Also, this place is not clean at all. I do not know who owns this location but the owner should consider to change the management and staff, too! I would not go there again. Yorktown location is better. This location is awful. I ordered a warm teriyaki bowel, which once I got home discovered it was only quinoa and chicken, with no teriyaki sauce, broccoli or teriyaki glaze in sight. I drove back, which is a 20 minute drive only to speak to the manager who questioned my compliant, tried to preach to me about how they prepare the food, until he actually reached in the bag to see what I was given. He then replied "you're right." After 5 minutes of being preached to, he went in the back to prepare another order. The cashier offered me a pastry for my inconvenience, however when I asked for a slice of coffee cake, I was told no, that they don't give slices of coffee cake, but I would have to buy the entire cake. This was the only pastry that I asked for and I was denied, even after driving back 20 minutes and given a speech that originated from pride and ego. This location has become poor in customer service and should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Got take-out from here tonight for the first time since they forgot the chicken in a salad a few months ago. This time, I checked the contents of the bag before leaving. I received chicken this time, but the salad was pathetic looking, just lettuce, chicken and almonds in a half-full container. I found the manager and pointed it out to him, and he remade the salad (or at least filled the container and added the wonton crisps that were supposed to be there but weren't). Then I noticed that the cup of soup was a full inch below the lid, so I had him fix that as well. To his credit, he agreed that there was a problem and gave me a free cookie for my trouble. But this is now two bad orders in a row (plus when I had a week of free bagels, it was rarely ready even though the system said my order was ready to pick up). Panera does not have any way to leave feedback on your order (maybe they don't care?) so it seems like this is the only way to let them know about the problems at this location. But given the other negative comments here, I'm guessing if they cared they'd already know about it. The Yorktown location does a much better job, but sadly I was near Mohegan Lake today. If you get take-out from this location, be sure to check your order before leaving or risk being upset and possibly hungry when you get home read more

I LOVE Panera but HATE going to this place! This place in particular. The servers are VERY rude and they take FOREVER to get your order. One time we ordered rapid delivery and it wasn't even in the front! Someone also got rapid delivery and ended up asking for their money back because it wasn't in the front and ended up waiting for the "rapid delivery". After the person got their money back, I saw the manger take the food and say "oh well!" Like customers saw that the manager didn't care and took the food to eat after the customer asked for their money back. And also, the servers have such poor manners. When you order a smoothie, they act like they're being bothered to make a smoothie. And there was no one on line, so I went to panera and STILL took 20 mins to get my food because the servers were in the back singing and talking, chatting while my food was just sitting there. I almost DREAD going to Panera and have gone here less and less. So sad cuz the food is pretty great when they get your order right. I feel like if you could avoid this Panera, please do so. OMG the manager Sean is horrible. He obviously hates his job. I waited 25mins in line with only 6people ahead of me. He couldn't seem to figure out how to use the register and had to redo everyone's order. When it came time for him to get a pastry from the other side of the front area he shuffled so almost crawled to it and back. He almost seemed like he had had enough of this job, asking in front of everyone in line what time it was and how long he had before he'd go home. My server apologized to me for the way he acted and for the wait. Sean, if you read this, please find another job. Maybe the DMV or something like that. read more

This is one of the better Panera's. Had a great experience here one morning when I called in an order to the Cortland location by accident thinking it was Mohegan Lake. When I arrived and they didn't have my order, they realized I went to the wrong place. The manager could not have been nicer. Breakfast was over (I think Panera really needs to extend breakfast though) but she said no problem and had the egg sandwich made for me anyway and went even further and said she would call the other location and cancel my order there and explain the mixup, which I thought was very responsible and managerial. I am here a lot. Sometimes the coffee is fresh, sometimes a little on the old side. Sometimes I stand in line (or is it on line?) wondering what could possibly take so long to ring someone up. And sometimes the tables are so dirty that I wish I ordered my food to go and sat in the bushes eating. If I didn't love certain things here, it would be adios. Worst lunch I have ever had. I hadn't been to a Panera in quite awhile and after today's experience I will NEVER be going back. First off it was $25 for 2 skimpy and I mean SKIMPY Italian combos. Barely any meet at all and tasted awefull. I should have gotten up and demanded a refund as I truly felt ripped off. I used to love their Italian combos and were quite filling, not anymore. I just find this place gross. The chairs always seem all strewn about, the tables aren't wiped properly, and the food is clearly just Not Good. I don't see why people like Panera. The soups are okay. The food is above par and the baked goods are consistently of decent quality. My complaint concerns the service. The people who take your order have a difficult time remembering more than one item at a time. Me: "One toasted plain bagel and a black coffee." Cashier: "What kind of bagel?" Me: "Plain." Their service is slow from ordering to preparing and despite their claim that "accuracy matters" apparently it doesn't because (no exaggeration) 90% of the times I order from there, they hand me a bag with an incomplete or wrong order! I love Panera but this location needs some work. Every other time I go there are out of a key ingredient for what I want to order and no one is ever apologetic about it. Recently I was there with my five year old and she wanted to save the rest of her food for later. I went to the counter to ask for a to go container and was blatantly ignored. Then my daughter needed to use the bathroom right then. I said to one of the employees actually making eye contact that I had to bring my daughter to the bathroom but needed to take her food to go and would be right back. We left for maybe two whole minutes and when we returned they had thrown the food out. So they ignore a person at the counter but are right on half-eaten food! I said to the woman I had told we had to run to the bathroom, do you have our food? She said, nope, you put it on the counter. Sorry! (And the "sorry" was in a so not sorry tone of voice.) It was totally on obnoxious. If she had just said, I'm sorry we have a policy not to leave food here, nicely, I wouldn't have been so steamed! I usually like Panera for a quick bite to eat while I do some work. I usually don't have a problem but this is one of the worst places I've been to. Ordered a small Mac and cheese and when it got to me it was still really cold. When I asked for a new one, or for them to warm it up, they directed me to a microwave near the coffee to warm it up. I wouldn't mind warming it up if it had been served an hour prior and it got cold because I hadn't eaten it quicker, but it was served to me cold. How much cold food are you serving!? read more

Despite its franchise status, Panera has never let me down. As for this location, I can say that it seems to be a little faster than most others I have frequented. The service was on par, the food was done right, and the place is kept very clean. My creamy tomato soup was the perfect temperature, and my signature almond chicken sandwich thing was indeed delicious. My only harp is on the drink fountain, which only has water and some fruit punch as the non-soda options. For a place with vegan options, the drink fountain should have better alternatives to soda. read more

Coming from a building manager with 30 teachers under me, I can say this place does a terrible job with in-store management and customer service. They should actually be READING what orders people are requesting. In the last two weeks, I ordered there 4 times and twice the order was completely incorrect. One time they even told me I couldn't get a refund and should pick something else. Thankfully with a little pushback I got the order for free instead, but shouldn't that be your first answer? Also the staff here is incredibly unprofessional, talking negatively about each other in front of customers and even keeping AirPods in while working. I ordered the chicken soup and the manager told me I was in luck as they just made a fresh batch. I then looked over to watch them pour the "fresh batch" out of a five gallon plastic bag they had just microwaved. I gave them their chances. My most recent trip was this past Saturday and it was pretty bad. The time before that was six months ago, and it was worse in terms of the service. On that day, I stood on line for 25 minutes, and waited nearly 20 more minutes for the food to be delivered to the table. And it was still wrong. I contacted Panera online. Their district manager apologized and provided me with a $15 gift certificate for my inconvenience. I used it on on Saturday. This time, the 45 minutes wait from walking in until food delivery was cut to "only" 32 minutes. Yay! And the food was pretty awful. Their soups continue to be very good, but my grilled cheese sandwich tasted like cardboard and barely had any cheese on it. Again, there was just one person behind the counter. And they made using my gift certificate into an ordeal. The district manager should have used my complaint as an opportunity to see that the store was staffed properly. I felt bad for the people working there. They were rushing around and seemed stressed. At one point, there were dishes piled up at least three feet high near the trash can. You know, it isn't cheap to come here, either. You can get better food and full service at many inexpensive restaurants. I can't imagine this chain will be around much longer. read more

I've recently been back since early last year. The portions have gotten very small, unlike the prices. The prices are high and have been raised but that is like any place now in days. Their half salad is a handful of salad and their "cup" of soup is a measurement fraud, what kind of measurement is that, it is more like a half of a cup of soup that they give you. They had employes in the takeout section that were only speaking Spanish, it was a little unnerving because what they are saying seems to not be appropriate to say in English around customers I guess. Overall, food wise, the chicken noodle soup got worse in quality and was like drinking salt in the broth but I forgot how much I love their salads! They're delicious! I love their chicken Caesar salad! I will be back soon hopefully but it seems that I have to save up my money to go to panera for lunch with such small portions. It got 3 stars for good salad, that I missed! It lost 2 stars for high prices, over salted soup and discomforting employees, except for one young gentleman working there that was singing his heart out and boy does he have a beautiful voice! read more

This place is terrible. Went run there tonight and the girls behind the counter were cursing and dropping F bombs so loud. Kids were in this place. Our food was just sitting up there. Went up to get it and this employee said "yeah we have no runners, and it's not our problem your not getting your food". Asked her name, she covered her tag and said it's non of your concern. Asked her 3 more times and she said, you don't need to know. Called the manager and her name is Bri. Terrible individual and she should be ashamed to be in the customer service field and be so nasty. Her parents obviously did not raise her right. It was a disgrace in this restaurant tonight. Manager said she has already been written up twice.
