I'm very impressed by the processional ability to have 6+ staff on hand, and I'm still waiting 48 minutes later for two bowls of soup, a sandwich and a cookie to take home. Hey! Yay! Name just called, so 49 minutes of waiting. I've been in before- back during the bread shortage of December '25 when the bread truck broke down. 3 staff and only soup available. The manager and staff were incredible during the bread shortage. Steady but sure in pace. Recognizing that people may become frustrated, I was impressed by the manager, who offered me a cookie! Tonight? No manager that I could see. Well, it's snowing, so maybe everyone has "go slow because there's snow", but I doubt it. It's Wisconsin. We're used to snow. The ambience, I can describe, is watching slow motion in action. I've got to give some credit for credit's sake. It's difficult to manage and sustain the ability to move this slowly. When in house eaters have finished their dinners and ask me, as they walk to the doors, if I'm still waiting, one knows it's something to behold. It really is quite something to watch! With a turnover rate of less than 3 months for the average worker, it must be something of a requirement for those who like to snicker. I definitely recommend this restaurant for individuals who wish to enhance their ability for patience and calm in a chain known to be faster than a 5 star restaurant -but only by a small margin. So I walk into Panera, ready for a quick bite, thinking, "How long can it really take to make a salad?" Well, apparently, the answer is ONE HOUR. Yep, I stood there for a full 60 minutes, first in line, feeling like the star of a slow-motion movie. Meanwhile, people who showed up after me were happily munching away like it was a drive-thru on fast-forward. Now, enter Sophia, (she needs to be fired) the staff member who clearly missed her calling as an eye-rolling champion. Every time I glanced her way, she gave me the kind of look that said, "Why are you even here?" But wait, it gets better--she then proceeded to chat about me with her coworkers like I was some kind of exotic creature in a zoo. I half expected her to start taking bets on how long I'd stay in line. Spoiler alert: I stayed way longer than any sane person should. By the time I finally got my food, it was so cold it could've been used as an ice pack. So if you want a meal served with a side of sass and a masterclass in slow service, Panera's got you covered. Very disappointed. I called 4x with no answer. Not able to get on the website because it was down, which then for sure the calls should be answered. When I went in to place my order to pick up about an hour later I was told they can't take an order to go and need to order online. Really? He even told me the site was down. We stopped here for a quick meal. We ordered and it took 30 minutes for us to get our food. We heard other customers complaining about cold food. When we got ours, soups weren't even warm. The food is good, but very expensive which is whatever, most places are nowadays. The service is very very very slow. I waited 45 minutes in the drive thru. It wouldnt be as bad if their drive thru prevented you from leaving so you have no option but wait the egregious wait time, only for them to get your food wrong more often than it should. I would recommend just shutting down your dive thru because it clearly isnt serving its purpose successfully. I recommend going to one of the local cafes or bakeries, you can find basically the same items cheaper and faster. read more

The food used to look as good as it does in their pictures, but not this time. And the portion was enough smaller than in the menu photo, I had to take my bowl of salad back to the serving counter to find out if it was considered a half bowl or a full serving. "Uh, that would be a full serving," was the answer. It was sufficient to fill me up, so I didn't leave hungry, but how can a serving that actually only fills half the bowl be worth $12? And how is it that a 16 0z smoothie can be worth over $6 -- and be only 12 oz in volume? (I later emptied a 12 oz can of soda into the cup, and it came up to the same line on the cup as the smoothie had.) The above are likely a corporate wide cost saving program. (Maybe Panera is in trouble financially?) But this particular store is looking pretty dirty. There were only up to 10 other clients in the store, but all the tables we looked at needed wiping down, and there was a glob of something sticky on the outside of the napkin dispenser. The restroom may be shared by other businesses in the building, but Panera would be smart to make sure everything functions and is clean in the restroom. Wow, if you are new to Panera, they really need a tutorial on how to actually order and collect your food! Unreal single line of 10 ahead of me when I 'followed instruction' on the ordering kiosk. It told me to proceed to counter when my buzzer buzzed. I took them literally and got in long slow line with only one person handling counter...very long wait. Any other employees must have been cooking because zero employees available to ask a question. Turns out my food was sitting around a corner getting cold...while I 'proceeded to counter' per directive. Customer finally told me how it works! Soup was excellent after nice cook replaced it hot. They always have a variety of coffee too. You walk in, pay for a cup and keep refilling till you burst open or go schizzo from too much caffeine, and in the meantime decide on what new type of sandwich to have today... Orders take a while so I hope you have room for more coffee, but they're worth the wait. Oh, but then there's the restroom. It's at the end of a long maze. Quality of food was terrible (broccoli cheddar soup looked and tasted extremely watered down, soup part immediately soaked into bread bowl leaving chunky soggy pieces of broccoli behind with minimal flavor- bread flavor was very bland) ; item ingredient accuracy (missing key salad toppings); product control (bear claw ordered as part of meal- had nearly no frosting on it-wasn't even frosting chunks that broke off in the bag... Staff was friendly and helpful but had issues as bathrooms needed restocking and cleaning (every time I have gone to this location I have experienced the same issue). I do not know if they are responsible for the bathrooms though as they are shared within the building with another business. Nonetheless, something Panera staff should be paying attention to and reporting to building owner/maintenance if it is a problem. I was on my way home using quick pickup today, hence why I did not communicate with staff the issues with the food immediately. Otherwise I would have said something then. Panera is one of those underrated chain cafes. Anywhere you go in the country with a Panera nearby you'll get consistently better than average food. With that, though, the service and beverages -- not so much on the consistency. The quality in those two elements seems to vary widely with no rhyme or reason. On the food : bagels are always good. The earlier in the day the better. The 'everything' bagel is my usual choice, having decided the cinnamon crunch bagel, my former favorite, was too much sugar so early in the day. Besides, between the sugar and the dark roast coffee, I needed to ease up on the buzz. The French onion soup is good but the tomato is even better. Add a Caesar salad or the Mediterranean vegetable sandwich and you'll be full but not stuffed. Panera's free Wi Fi is a big plus for anyone who can't be without an Internet for very long. It's a perfect spot to meet with friends, relax, read a book, or gear up for the next assault on your harried life. read more
