We went to a funeral early this morning and I wanted bagels. Since there was no bagel shop around we went for Panera Bread in the Plant. The bagels were just average. He ordered a Jalapeno and Cheddar bagel with no spread -- "I do not taste any jalapeno at all." -- fail. I ordered an Everything bagel with Veggie spread. Meh. The spread tastes like it has the powder soup mix thingy in this. The coffee was okay. My husband and I both would prefer Starbucks. Our total bill was $6 even. I've been to other Paneras (long time ago), first time at this one. Pros: 1. Free wifi 2. Relatively new and clean seating 3. Quick service 4. Bakery items look good Cons: 1. Coffee wasn't as hot as i like it, not sure if this is typical since this is the first time i've had just coffee 2. Ham and cheese bagel breakfast had hot bagel and cold ham and cheese (not sure if this is why my stomach is upset) 3. Used napkins on the chair 4. Even more expensive then Starbucks(3.99 for a Pumpkin Spice Latte, i assume grande size since menu doesn't specify) I thought this might be a good alternative to going to Starbucks in the morning. The menu is large, the selection looks good, but the execution fell far short of what i was hoping for. During every visit that I have made to this Panera location, the staff have always been very friendly and helpful. Service is quick and the quality of the food is exceptional. I have yet to be disappointed by a lunch here (and I'm very picky). The Panera at Coleman Avenue has always been my "go-to" location, but I've been frequenting this location as it is closer to home, AND has more spaces available for me to settle in. Dropped by this Panera Bread in a rush. Got two sandwiches - walnut Salad and turkey panini sandwich. Quality of sandwiches was very poor. For $7-8 you get a really small sandwich. Turkey Panini - we just threw away. Walnut Salad was better but nothing special. A little bit of Walnut salad squeezed between two pieces of white bread. Generally, their baked good tend to be good. I went in 15 min ago to get a Steak and Egg breakfast sandwich and I come home and the main ingredient (steak) was missing. Not sure how that could have been missed since it was not busy at all. I immediately called and they stated they would comp me for a sandwich another time since it is unrealistic for me to spend another 30 min round trip + time waiting for them to make a sandwich. I'll give them 3 stars for being accommodating, but will update (either increase stars or down to 1 star) on whether they remember to give me a comp or not. I've ordered here 4 times within the last 2 months. Only once had my order been complete and right. The first two time they failed to give me my sides with my sandwich, the 3rd time I ordered a chipotle melt and got a bacon grilled cheese. So much wasted potential I can only blame on poor management and training. My first time at a Panera store and seriously disappointed. We ordered to go. The cashier tells me pick up is on the left and they'll call my name, she didn't tell me HER left or point me in the right direction. Must have waited at least 20 minutes. Finally my wife asked after our order. Was told they're making it now. I'm looking around and see the activity at the other end of the counter that's half walled off. Figured out that was pick up. They finally called my name and I grabbed and we almost ran out to the car as we'd been busy already and tired and just wanted to get home and eat. The sandwich, ordered a turkey club with avocado. When I got home I gobbled up the first half, good flavor but not quite right. Opened the other half, didn't see any bacon or avocado. My wife tells me the one on Hamilton is much better. This place is awesome! My favorite salad is the Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad! Best salad ever. They also have tons of yummy sandwiches, soups, and OMG the pastries!!! My son and I have been going to Panera Bread for breakfast almost every Saturday for a few years. They have wonderful pastries (their scones are especially good), above average bagels, and the BEST hazelnut coffee around! We've tried them for dinner, and their soups and sandwiches are very good, too. My only complaint is that their salads have WAY too much cheese in them. If you're a cheese lover, this might be a plus for you, though. The atmosphere is one its strong points, too. They have mild classical music playing very softly in the background. It's the perfect volume so that you can hear it if you pay attention to it or you can tune it out if you're trying to study or read. The free wi-fi is a HUGE plus, too. When I need to do some work and I'm not near home, I'll look for a Panera before I look for a Starbucks or Peet's. There's always adequate seating, too. read more

Yesterday I ordered lunch for my crew and our clients for a preview of their products today. With my e-mail verification I was supposed to pick up at 10:30 and it was not ready... They proceeded to tell me that the order just came in and that it would be 20 minutes to make my order. When I told them that my order was placed yesterday their eyes that is as big as tennis balls and said oh uh uh uh..... When I asked to speak to a manager I was looked at blankly. They still failed to deliver accuracy and customer service. The cashier Maria lacks that warmth in customer service and fails to ask me for my panera number... not only is the front end lacking but the back of the house failed to accurately provide me my full meal... I was missing a chip... and when maria delivered it... I don't get it... she rang me up and she had a copy of my receipt and she still missed the fact that I had chips on my meal as well... like wtf guys... this place continues to struggle. Great place to meet up with friends or clients. I come here all the time. They have free refills on coffee and drinks, free wifi, lots of seating, and places to plug in a charger. They also have some delicious soups, sandwiches and pastries. It is way better than crowded Starbucks for getting work done. Lots of interesting people that run their entire office there but they usually sit far enough away that their meetings don't bother me. Just something to distract me if I want it to. Love this place like a home away from home! By the way, a recent visit our food took longer than we would have liked and the manager gave us our money back so we ate free! Awesome! read more

I got a grilled cheese sandwich here. It was a 4 cheese sandwich but there wasn't much cheese at all. It was 7.50. even Starbucks has a cheaper and better grilled cheese sandwich. I'd eat here only if it was conven8ent. Food is very mediocre and overpriced. Service was not that fast even though they werent too busy.
