I've been avoiding this place. The idea of Panera...just isn't my thing. But we were in the area, with not a lot of time to spare, so we went through the drive thru. Small cup of mac and cheese, full Caesar salad and a red velvet cupcake. The portion size of the mac and cheese was laughable. Like smallest ice cream at DQ size. Portion size of the Caesar was better, but only as far as the lettuce goes. As soon as I got home, I added more croutons, cheese and dressing. The salad was pretty good, but considering what I added to it... Grand total was about $13 with drinks included, a tad pricy considering the size . Oh, the red velvet cupcake was, as Calvin and Hobbes so eloquently described, a frosted sugar bomb. The place wasn't as bad as I'd feared, but there's little to recommend it. read more

Everytime I go to Panera the bread is really good. I got a cinnamon crunch bagel with hazelnut cream cheese and a mozzarella panini to go. Omg it's soooo good. I guess the Panera in Bloomington, IL kind of got me craving the panini. It's so good and just the right amount of crispy & the very flavorful. And I'm super glad they have a drive thru. Great drive-thru so lucky to have a Panera with a drive-thru, friendly service, quick good food. This Panera is always clean. Fair prices, higher than what you might typically pay for lunch for a drive-thru but it's also better than your typical drive-thru. They have a great Asian noodle soup it's new on the menu very delicious! I'm always a fan of all of the soups and salads, unfortunately if you just want the chicken broth you still have to pay full price even if you're omitting the chicken and the noodles! What can I say about Panera? It's a chain. They sell bread, pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads. If you've never been to a Panera, I would say it's the Starbucks of bread/sandwiches. It's pretty dependable, average and it appeals to a certain type of crowd. Nevertheless, I like it because every panera I've been to has been consistent. This particular location the staff is friendly, service isn't super fast but I also wouldn't call it slow. I like their asiago steak sandwich and cup of broccoli cheddar soup. They have by far my favorite broccoli cheddar soup of anywhere. They also have some seasonal items that aren't bad. If you've never been to Panera check it out. Expect prices higher than a subway though. read more

I actually liked it; first try at one of these guys, I even braved the drive-thru. My wait wasn't too long, did the "Pick 2" dealie and got the 1/2 Bravo sandwich (ehhh, ok, bacon wasn't so good, tomato-ish bread was nice), and 1/2 chicken caesar (awesome all around: dressing, seasoned chicken, croutons). All in all, less than $10 for a meal that wasn't cooked in grease; I'm looking forward to testing out more of the menu...how many other drive-thrus in this county can you go to and get a nice selection of decent salad varieties (ehhh, maybe Wendys? and uhhhh)? Bump it up 1/2 a star for that and the soups. :) read more

Very slow service every time and they always forget something. Most recently, we went through the drive thru and they made us wait for almost 20 minutes on one of the sandwiches and then didn't even put that sandwich in the bag. Can never go wrong with Panera :) the food was yummy and fast. Haven't done take out yet but maybe another time. One thing that I did notice while I was sitting there eating was that they kept talking about they didn't have this this and that. I would be bummed if I didn't get what I wanted. But I guess that can happen to any restaurant so I can't really count that against then. read more

I usually have good service here, but this week after 20 minutes waiting at booth for a Chai Latte, I went to the back counter to ask if I had been overlooked. The guy behind the counter looked at me holding my receipt, and said "WHAT?" I explained I had been waiting for quite a while, and it was the only thing on our receipt. Stay with making sandwiches. I recently tried one of the new flatbread pizzas. This looked so promising! It came with a crispy hot crust with melted cheese, fresh tomatoes, oh so gooey...then that first bite into the worst pizza sauce ever! Ewwww. Orange tasteless goo. It reminded me of the sauce that comes with Chef Borarde in the can from childhood. Completely tasteless goo. This is the best you can do for pizza sauce? No spices? I ordered online and used the Rapid Pickup feature for the first time a few nights ago. Ordered broccoli cheese soup and a Frontega chicken panini. Paid online, ran in 20 minutes later, and my order was waiting with my name on it to grab and go on the Rapid Pickup rack. I used to enjoy going to Panera. They had good service and good food. The last couple of times we've gone, it is just depressing. The front counter is barren. You have to stand there a few minutes before you are noticed by the schleppy fellow who says, "Can I help you sir?" like we just ruined his buzz. It's like they WANT you to use the ordering kiosk so you won't bother them. Busy? Nope - there were maybe 3 people there at 8:30 am. Luckily, there is a Starbucks just down the road where you pay a little less, get warmly greeted, and the coffee is better. I've been holding off on trying the recently opened Panera out here, having had a crappy experience the first and only other time I've ever been to one. I had some time to kill and nothing else in the area sounded appetizing, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Biggest waste of $11 ever. The smokehouse turkey panini is a combination of bitter (sandwich spread), bland (turkey and bacon), and salt (cheese). The bacon was disgustingly wiggly and flavorless (it's bacon! how does that happen?!), the turkey alternated between no flavor and overly salty, the smoked cheddar was a sorry excuse for cheese, the sun dried tomato ale mustard they slathered all over the bread was an abomination, and the bread stayed crisp for all of 10 seconds until the greasiness from the cheese and spread took hold. I took one bite of the sandwich and just about got up and left right then and there. Having spent as much as I did, I tried to salvage what I could and I'm sure the neighboring customers thought I was weird for pulling everything apart on my plate. The kettle chips they supply are good. They helped to salvage the turkey portion of the sandwich. The other time I visited Panera Bread, I ordered a steak and white cheddar panini and it was a bit of a waste as well. Tough meat and lackluster bread. I probably should have learned from my first endeavor; shame on me. If I wanted a flavorless sandwich, I could have gone home and grilled a single piece of white bread on my own press. My first experience with Panera was while I lived in San Diego. They had great sandwiches & soups so I was thrilled to hear we would be getting one in Silverdale! We made the mistake of going right after they opened because it was beyond packed. Which is usually what happens when Silverdale/Bremerton gets anything new. I ordered the french onion soup and spinach power salad. Honestly, I have no complaints about either. They were both pretty good but not life changing. It's Panera. The place had gotten my drink order wrong every.single.time. You think I would've learned to stop going after the third wrong drink. Lol! One time I got a free dessert with my Panera rewards card and I told the server to surprise me with something good. Big mistake. She must have just have me the oldest grossest item. I usually go to Panera once or twice a month. This morning I stopped by to pick up breakfast in my way to work. For some reason my debit card declined and it was the only method of payment that I had. The manager gave me my meal for free! I promptly drove next door to my bank and was able to use they same debit card to withdraw cash and return to pay for my items, but I'm still struck by the kindness of the manager. Great service!!! We used the drive through this evening. My husband and I each ordered a salad, not because we weren't very hungry, but because we try to eat healthy. We paid over $17.00 for two salads. When we got home we were SO disappointed! The salads were so tiny! I actually had to cut up more lettuce to add to the salads! I understand that the chicken may be expensive, but lettuce! Come on, lets not skimp on the lettuce!! The size salad they give you is enough for a light snack at best. We were really hoping for a healthy option on the go. Disappointed. Went to Panera and was charged $62 yet they forgot my bread bowl and drink. When I reminded the guy he told me they were in my bag. I told him I checked and they weren't. So he asked me what it was they forgot again. I got home and my family is eating and I went to eat my sandwich but the sandwich was covered in some sort of weird mayo sauce and bbq sauce when the sandwich should've only had bbq. Of course I only noticed the sauce for a second when I found a very long dark hair hanging out of my sandwich (I'm blonde). Now I know why the rating at this Panera is so low. We had just recently gone in and ordered some things, and asked about a certain item on the menu. Our cashier didn't say anything, and went in the back. She didn't answer our question. Then, the floor manager came out, and she was actually quite rude telling us that the item was no longer there, and that we made her job hard for her because of the fact that she had to actually add items to our order, and continued to be rude and didn't say anything to us after that item was ordered. Panera is a frequent go-to for my family and I. My mom and I stopped there to get a quick breakfast on the way out of town. We each order a whole grain bagel with honey walnut cream cheese spread. The spread was delicious! Unfortunately, they realized after we had already ordered and paid that they only had one whole grain bagel left. My mom was completely fine switching her bagel to a sesame bagel, but they still offered us a free pastry for our trouble! We got a pecan braid and split it for part of our breakfast the next day, and it was delicious. We also ordered one strawberry banana smoothie that we asked then to split. While the woman at the cashier acted like we would have to split it ourselves and gave us an extra cup for it, the people in the kitchen split it into two smaller cups for us, which was very nice. Oooooh my gosh. The WORST. I ordered over the phone. Ten minutes before arriving. I usually I go to Starbucks. But I got tired of their usual menu and they kept burning my coffee. So I decided to try Panera. At first I was thrilled with the change. The pastries were good and the coffee wasn't burnt. I drink my coffee black. I'm simple. A pastry and a black coffee. Easy. How come today it too an HOUR to get my order. AN HOUR! I waited in the special parking spot, I put my flashers on (like the app recommends when you're in a hurry) I even left, went back home to pick up a banana and came back and my food STILL wasn't ready. I had had enough and went inside to damn near cook the food myself. My order still wasn't ready. The sweet young man at the counter tried his best to find my order and put it together. But it was still wrong. I ordered the mango yuzu tea and (on the app they weren't out, but in the store) they were out. So he told me to get whatever other one they had. So I did, I had never ordered it before. I didn't know what it was supposed to look like. So I just picked whatever was full and didn't say "out" on the container. Lucky me, it turned out to be dirty pink water because he didn't tell me they were flushing them out and cleaning them all! So I drank dirty water when I got to work. Because that's when I noticed it wasn't what I ordered. All in all, they lost a customer. I will NOT be returning. My hunt for a decent reliable cafe with good coffee and pastries continues. Panera is one of my favorite "fast foods". The customer service at this location is why it's getting 3 stars. They are super friendly. If it wasn't for friendliness it would get 0-1 stars because my food always has an issue when I come. My last visit my daughters grilled cheese was burnt yet my sandwich melt was cold like they didn't even attempt to grill it. Cold slices of cheese and all. Also no sauce like they're should be. I went here with my brothers and dad hoping to find a good place to eat! We saw panera bread and decided to try it out. It's a nice, clean set up. My dad got a salad, and my brothers and I each got A panini. We decided to share a clam chowder bread bowl and our meal total came out to be almost $45! (No tip) I was surprised, this place is pretty spendy. When the food came, it tasted delicious. If I could have one complaint, it would be the portion size. This Panera Bread is in a great location with a drive-thru! It's busy every time we have been there. They seem to be trying hard to have good customer service and keep up with busy crowds. I usually go to this Panera at least once a week if not more, for over a year now. I love that Panera offers a Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich, take off the cheese and it works for someone who is Vegan! Although, I do love most of the staff, everyone has always been very helpful and nice. It's some of the younger workers who don't care about the quality of the product they're making. I don't know how many times I've simply asked for the bread to be on whole grain and no tomato or cheese and on more than 8 occasions, I've driven away with my food being screwed up. Shit happens, but when it's a consistent thing, something in the kitchen isn't going correctly. The manager is the absolute sweetest so I'll keep coming back but I really hope something switches up in the back for the sake of business. read more

I loved the chicken salad sandwich, it's so tasty . I believe in adding fruits to salads and this place does exactly that. Their frozen watermelon strawberry lemonade is an explosion of deliciousness!! If you feel like eating something light this is the place to come. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the bread was a little hard on the edges, but the rest of the sandwich was great. read more
