Simmons, manager of Panera Bread just went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and I really could not ask for a better person or restaurant to host my monthly meetings.The restaurant, first of all, was immaculately clean and the food even looked clean and fresh. Doth thy Don a Turtleneck to eat a clean sandwich? Why yes, M'Lady. the employees were so friendly, and C.J. even carried our food out to our table when it was ready. My only complaint is that the employees were not wearing turtlenecks! Ha! That's the turtleneck humor for you! I am donning a mustard colored turtleneck, which signifies that I am the president. Bakery has gone way down hill in both quality and portion size. I've had a few bad experiences at Panera in Statesboro GA, mostly due to poor customer service or bad management, but I never had any issues with the quality of their food or bakery items in the past. The pastries used to be excellent, especially the oversized croissants, bear claws, and cinnamon swirls. So it had been a while, but I used their drive-thorough today to order two croissants and two bear claws. Was I ever shocked when I got home and saw what passes for a Panera croissant and pastry now. Each croissant was about 4 inches across and sliced in half, which I didn't request or want, and they looked like prepackaged soggy grocery store items. The croissants were claggy not flakey. The bear claws were about half the size they used to be and were billed as almond pastry instead. They tasted nothing like the pastries from a few years ago. Just awful, cheap tasting junk. $15.44 for four generic grocery store pastries. Never again. read more

DO NOT USE DELIVERY! I used to love this place 4 years ago, and thought I'd give them another try. Horrible idea. How is a delivery order going to take an hour+, proceed to be late, then when I called the store they claim "the doordasher didn't pick up the order". Worst visit to date. Long wait for food and the beverage area was limited to the soda machines. At only 12:30 in the afternoon the beverage station had only empty containers. Tables are not being cleaned and staff ignored a table that accidentally spilled a drink. Family used napkins to sop up without staff assisting. If this is the new normal, we won't be back. Placed an online order to pick up through drive thru. Waited at the speaker for 5 minutes for someone to say anything and no one did. Went to the window and waited again and no one came but I could see them through the window on their phones. I usually love Panera. They have really great bagels which I always get. But this particular Panera can't seem to toast a bagel. When I ask for it toasted it isn't even toasted and cold or barely warm. So I started to ask for it toasted darker, and every single time I've done this (only twice) they have completely burn my bagel to where I can't even eat it. I just think it's so simple to toast a bagel and don't get why they can't. Overall I will not be getting bagels from here again. read more

Decided last minute to prepare a light brunch before GSU game on Saturday. I used the Panera App to do Rapid Pick -Up ... so I could hurry and hAve things ready right when family and woke up that morning. I was able to zip on into the restaurant and grab my order quickly. I ended up seeing a few extra yummy pastries and adding them to my order. Everyone was so helpful, friendly and accommodating! The bagels were SOOOO FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!!! And the 3 flavor Danish Ring was out of this world good!!!!!!! I feel like for the amount of bagels, cream cheese and sweet treats I ordered... the price was extremely reasonable. I expected more from this place. Two of the three staff were nice. The salad had very bad ingredients. They hide the bad parts on the bottom of the bowl. I took it back & managerwas nice & offered to make me a fresh one. I said ok. When I got home the "fresh" salad had the same problem. I also had a veggie sandwich. Guess where that lettuce came from? Perfect place to pay 15 dollars for a meal and still be hungry after. I ordered the whole Napa valley chicken salad sandwich because I was hungry and decided instead of my regular pick two to get a whole sandwich and a bowl of soup. To my surprise the sandwich was made on literal miniature sourdough. Whenever I have gotten half the sandwich with the pick two it is never that small and I was told that it's just the regular bread. I really like Panera. When I am on the road, it is a great place to get a somewhat healthful bite to eat (as long as you stay away from the desserts, which are awesome, but really high in calories). As a general rule, I really like Panera Bread's food. Here at this location that remains true. BUT, I am consistently disappointed by the lack of cleanliness here. I got here at 9 am today. I almost thought they were closed because there were no cars. I come in, order my food, look for a place to sit, and Every table is dirty. The floor is dirty. You'd think that with no customers in the store they would take some time to wipe down the tables and clean the place up a bit. Disgusting. Makes me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I am a Panera fanatic. This panera is okay, the food quality could be better, the employees are alright, and the speed is pretty average for any panera I've been to. The issue with the food is anytime I have ordered salad with romaine in it...there have always been gooey or soggy pieces of what I can only assume is rotted lettuce. It makes the whole salad fairly unappetizing. I've had this problem occur on 5 different occasions that I have order salads from this particular Panera. Mind you, these incidents were well before and well after the romaine recall in 2018. I would stick with a soup or sandwich from this location if you don't want to waste your money. Recently I have witnessed a lot of mixed up or incorrect orders of in house customers, while waiting for my order (which was correct minus the gross lettuce pieces). read more
