A weekly go-to for me. Honestly, I'd be a regular patron for the house dressing ALONE. I've had pizzas, calzones & salads (oh my GOD, their SALADS!) from Holiday & I have never once been disappointed. The staff is very friendly, and while we usually order takeout, most staff members will even open each meal in front of you to ensure you're satisfied before you walk out the door. I CANNOT STRESS THE HOUSE DRESSING ENOUGH! Dip your pizza in it, heck--dip your finger in it. Buy a jar to take home for dipping crudités or mix into pasta salad (I did this once & it was a hit). We went to Holiday Pizza for lunch. I was in the mood for a Gyro, and my wife ordered Spanakopita. This is supposed to be a Greek restaurant; one would think these items would be great. Unfortunately, neither one was good. The Gyro meat was old, reheated, and dry. It was supposed to come with tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce. There was very little of any of those items. The Spanakopita is supposed to be layers of filo dough filled with a mixture of spinach, mozzarella, feta, and spices, then baked. The filo dough was also old. I have been to Holiday Pizza before. Under both the old and new management. I would have to really think about going back there. I dropped $45.00 on old lunch products. Wow! That is all I have to say about this place. It looked like it was closed because of how empty the parking lot but sure enough they were open. My girlfriend and I shared a Greek salad and it was unbelievably good. I got a lamb gyro and she got a chicken gyro. The service was fast and the staff was very nice. The gyros were cheap and so so good. I can't believe this place doesn't get slammed with business for their quality and price. Kudos to the owner and staff. Worst place in Statesboro! Don't waste your time and money here. First of all the table tops were sticky like they have never been cleaned. Secondly, I am 72 years old and the waiter ask me for my ID when I ordered a beer. I told him I know of no other restaurant in Statesboro that has ever asked me for my ID when I ordered a beer. So I ordered iced tea instead. The waiter laughed and said well it's the law. So I paid for my iced tea which I never touched and left the restaurant and went to Olive Garden where I was not bothered with such nonsense. What kind of people run this place anyway? Here is what the law in Georgia states regarding serving of alcohol: (h) "In any case where a reasonable or prudent person could reasonably be in doubt as to whether or not the person to whom an alcoholic beverage is to be sold or otherwise furnished is actually 21 years of age or older, it shall be the duty of the person selling or otherwise furnishing such alcoholic beverage to request to see and to be furnished with proper identification as provided for in subsection (d) of this Code section in order to verify the age of such person; and the failure to make such request and verification in any case where the person to whom the alcoholic beverage is sold or otherwise furnished is less than 21 years of age may be considered by the trier of fact in determining whether the person selling or otherwise furnishing such alcoholic beverage did so knowingly." read more

Holiday pizza is one of my go to meals for lunch since it's close by my job. But as of lately they have been just really slacking on their salads. Some weeks I ordered this salad two maybe three times a week, and recently it was just the worst. I returned the salad and asked for a new one. They did it with no hesitation but I think when you In the service industry, especially food. Owner, Stephanie, said the reason for my poor service was; my friends and I " ran off " our first server, her daughter, because we intimated her and " laughed at her." Seeking authentic Italian food in Statesboro is a fool's errand, I know, but this restaurant, ostensibly specializing in pizza, makes some odd ingredient choices: white cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella? A stromboli served with a small cup of vinaigrette dressing (I had no salad)? Was I supposed to dip the Stromboli in that? Even for Georgia that was weird. If you want greasy pizza that tastes like cardboard with very little tomato sauce, this is the place for you. It was $16 for a 16 inch cheese pizza with half pepperoni. I wouldn't eat this again if you paid me. We could've gone to Little Caesars and gotten three pizzas for the price of one, and you wouldn't have to pay me to eat them. So we took the 4 star Yelp review at it's face value and stopped here. Big Mistake! We both ordered chicken parmesan. The chicken was so over cooked that it was like leather in places. The sauce tasted like tomato sauce with a pinch of garlic powder. There was hardly any parmesan cheese on it, and worst of all, the angel hair pasta it was served over was so over cooked it just blended into the sauce with no texture. And that was just the food. The wait staff was painfully slow and disinterested in having any guests. What should have been a simple dinner stop turned into an hour and 15 minutes for a simple plate. Every time I have been here they get the order wrong. I ask for extra garlic, none. I ask for house dressing instead of marinara, I get marinara. I pay for pepperoni on my pizza slice, they put 7 on there. IF you are going to eat here, consider this advice: do not ever order the slice of pizza: it's never fully cooked - like cheese not melted and dough still needs to bake. Do not ever order the garlic twists: they either burn them enough that you can't physically eat them or they are so doughy that you have to finish cooking them at home. The ONLY thing you can order and get it cooked right is a full pizza. But please, avoid just cheese. The owner is nice and has agreed with me that certain things are cooked/undercooked BUT it is still consistently wrong. if i could give this place 0 stars i would. i am a server myself as well as the rest of my friends who were with me (4 of us and a baby). We got there and there was maybe 1 other table in the dining room, very slow. A young lady came to serve us (come to find out she's the owners daughter ) , got drinks and then came to take our order. we had a question about whether they had cheese slices available. Came back, took the order, smooth sailing so far as we thought . A woman then, by the name of Stephanie, came to our table. A little confusion of how the food came out, we got 3 salads ( 2 caesar and a greek salad). They brought 2 greeks and a caesar. We asked if the salads came prior to the main entrees, she said yes and to let us know it was a shift change at the moment. I told her we understood and we were servers ourselves. Laughing, seeming sweet so far. my friend said "sorry can i please get some more lemons" also asked for some ranch because i didn't like the tzatziki. my fries were unsalted (table salt was empty). the Alfredo looked gray and was bland. my friend got the wrong dressing she asked for on top of the fact it wasn't the right salad, although she did get the bacon she asked for. she then proceeded to bring 1 more lemon and say "is there anything else do for you" in a condescending tone. the waitress we first encountered never came back to help us and Stephanie, i guess, took over for her. After that, she never came back to us to checkin whatsoever. we had to get up to make our own togo drinks and ask the young lady sweeping for togo boxes. i went up to the cash register, there was a young lady there first and i expressed how i was more upset with the taste of the entrees (salads and pizza were great though!) and i didn't mind paying for them but just wasn't super satisfied about the food on top of the attitude that wasn't deserved nor needed. I went back to help clean the table while she went to go talk to the owner or manager. i came back and a man (that was the owner of the place) helped me out and was pleasant and understanding. However, the manager (Stephanie) was standing behind him to his left trying to help him ring up what we were paying for. She looked at me when i was trying to tell him what we all had and she "shooed" me away with her hand...i looked to my friend to make sure i wasn't overreacting. she then looked and me and says "are you done paying and doing what you need to do?" i replied yes , however i had my friends money to pay for her portion. she told me to back up from the counter, and said "she can speak for herself" i told her that i can speak if i please if my friend doesn't want to speak to you. I told her that this was unacceptable on top of the service we just received from her. She then said "we deserved the bad service" because of the way we treated her???? the owner HIMSELF told her (Stephanie) to "hush" and "shh" while she was speaking to me. Before i got too angry i decided to leave and sit in the car. She then decided to tell my friends that we made her daughter feel "intimidated" and we were "laughing" at her...Yet she only saw us 3 times in the time frame of us being there and served. Threatening to call the "laws" completely unprofessional and provocative. They claimed the plates were "so hot" yet the food came out with 2 plates stacked, but looked like it had been sitting in the window for awhile that it was that dry. Seeing the racist comments in these Yelp reviews, does not surprise me now being there and seeing the service myself. Coming from of my friends who still payed $37 for food they said would be discounted. the only white person in that group of 5...everything makes sense. Will never recommend this place to anyone and will never waste another penny. Very unwelcoming from the start "you can just sit yourself". I may have just caught them on a "bad night" but it took about an hour for them to complete our order for 1 cheese pizza and 1 "salad". The biggest frustration is that they could have just admitted that they screwed up, but instead they just told me and everyone else that called or walked in that they were running behind and it would be 25-30 minutes. After ordering online and arriving 30 min later, and then standing in the lobby for another 30 minutes, I finally asked how much longer it would take, at which point they went and grabbed my order. Also, the "large Caesar salad" was just a lot of brown edged romaine with some Parmesan sprinkled on top. Never in my life would I have waited an hour for that salad had I known. My roommate recommended Holidays, and I am so glad she did. My date took me for Valentine's Day. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. Stromboli/Calzones: pretty tasty, especially with the gyro meat. ANY italian/greek item on the menu: heckyeah. They're all awesome, EXCEPT the alfredo. My Fave: veal parm or chicken parm. Grinders: chicken grinder is heavenly. Get it all the way. Fries: they're just plain old crinkle cut like you get at the store and cook at home, but man, they do em right. Maybe it's the industrial fat-fryer, or maybe it's just that they have a magical fry machine, but be sure to ask for them extra crispy. And eat em with tzatziki sauce. Beer: an okay selection at a great price. If you become a regular here, you'll notice that a lot of the employees have been with this store for YEARS, especially the folks in the kitchen. Holiday's is a cute, local place that's easy to miss but it offers some great Greek and Italian food. I never bother with the pizza; the other dishes are much more worth your while. My favorite dish is the hellenic chicken - a spinach stuffed chicken served over alfredo pasta. Everything is served with a choice of pita or garlic bread. Holiday's also makes two different "house" salad dressings. They are based on the same flavors but one is more creamy and one is more oil-based. Both are great! (Though I'm a fan of dipping my pita bread in the creamy dressing and using the other for my salad.) Service is usually on par. I'd definitely recommend Holiday's over Statesboro's other Italian mainstay - Oliven Garden. read more

One of the few things I really miss about Statesboro! I loved this place. Their house and creamy house are dressing perfection. My suggestion is skip the pizza and get one of the Greek entrees which come with delicious garlic bread and a salad. The chicken Parmesan is amazing, and definitely enough for 2 people. The only thing I am not a fan of here is the Alfredo sauce which was too watery for me. Their salads are giant and very good. Amazing little place tucked away in Statesboro. Went there for the first time tonight, they had prompt, friendly service. The guy at the counter was willing to answer all of my questions, since I was interested in their Greek food, and walked me through a take-out order process, and even talked to me about the history behind Holidays! Very cozy, the food was made to order very quickly, and it was extremely delicious. I had the gyro combo, which was delicious, and their fries are absolutely amazing. My boyfriend had the chicken alfredo and said he enjoyed it thoroughly. He isn't a big garlic fan but ate all of the garlic bread they gave him. Their tzatiki sauce was the best I've ever had, too. Pretty good food, most of the dishes I would considered rather standard for an Italian / Greek fusion restaurant, but honestly you can't have your expectations too high. One major highlight (and the reason for going) is the pizza. Their crust is some of the best I've ever tasted and they are experts, absolute insane experts at crust / sauce / cheese ratio. I don't know if it's an accident or what, but they know pizza really well. The sandwiches are also pretty good, a bit greasy, but hey, really tasty stuff.
