I was told that their breakfast sandwiches are to die for. I decided to come here before work to check it out (concord location). First- They open at 6:30, I was cutting it close at 6:40 but otherwise, I would be late for work. Second- The whole process took too long. I gave myself an extra 10 minutes for a place that was on the way. I was never asked if it was for to-go and was served the meal on a plate with silverware. I figured I might as well eat there than try to perpetrate the drive and munch. I ended up being 20 min late for work. Do the math. Third- The sandwich was awesome. The bread, cheese and sausage were enough to make this one of the best AM sammies ive had, beating out the Dunkin Omelette croissant and the Steak Bagel at Mickey D's. My only complaint was that they used a fried egg as opposed to a scrambled one. Just a personal preferance. I actually ejected the egg and it was still a fine sandwich. I don't see much point in reviewing a chain restaurant, however I wanted to note that this is the only Panera I've been in -- ever -- that has enough power outlets for the laptop crowd. Mama is one happy girl! However .... However ... [shaking my head in a sad and dejected -- yet still attractive -- manner] What's up with the bathroom? The toilet paper roll thingie would only give me, like, one square at a time. I practically had to bend meself in half to look under it to find the start of the roll (which I never did find) to get the thing going again. I had to make do with toilet paper crumbs. Then the paper towel thingie was similarly hostile. What the fark, Panera? Is this some misguided, passive-aggressive attempt to go green? The food quality is very good with offers ranging from simple muffin (tops) and bagels to breakfast sandwiches on special breads. I most enjoy breakfast here, but they do offer lunch. I have enjoyed their soups, mostly their tomato bisque, which is now my favorite over Cosi. The prices are reasonable, not cheap, but reasonable for the quality of food you receive. read more

Panera's is a (national or just northeast, not sure) chain, but it is one of my favorites. You can eat meat chili and greasy chicken sandwiches, or you can eat very healthy with a salad and soup selection that is extensive. So in short, they seem to have something on the menu for everyone. It's a tad pricier than I would like, but an excellent alternative to burgers or sub sandwiches and I trust the food more. read more

The salads are way overpriced. I got the Mediterranean and the shrimp was tasteless, watery, chewy and bland. You have to season those things, people, and certainly don't boil them in water! Gross. There was not much else to the salad at all...very stark. The bread was good, but the soft drink was also way overpriced ($2). Overall I left feeling ripped off and on the drive home I got really nauseous and had intestinal issues when I got home. Coincidence? I don't know. I had a lovely trip to my local Panera the other day. I had a delicious tomato mozzarella whole grain flat bread. The young asian girl who made my sandwich couldn't be happier to prep the food. My friend got the wanton broth bowl which wasn't up to par for her, but Panera was great about letting her get a new soup with no charge. Also on a side note, the bathrooms are well attended to. I went to the restroom and found a nice young man in the women's room cleaning it happily. The facilities are clean and not sketchy. The staff overall is very friendly and happy. Yum. Panera salads are really fresh and very personalized. Half size is perfect for me (for ladies especially). Also the ordering has become easier and faster with the use of apps and the kiosks. I used to frequent this panera quite often and this was my first time back in awhile. In one word -- disappointed. I normally don't write reviews for place with counter service, but this experience was so odd that I had to. I walked up to the counter and stood there for 3 minutes while the lady behind the counter rummaged through bagels. After standing there for quite awhile she said she'd be with me in just a minute. After about another 3 minutes another woman came over and asked the first woman if I had been helped. When she replied no, this woman then turned to me and asked me the same question. When she took my order she was very short with me and looked annoyed. She failed to ask if my order was for here or to go and seemed annoyed when I asked her where I could pick up my food. Everyone who was working this morning just seemed annoyed and bothered -- maybe something was going on. Food was good as per usual, but the service was just a bit sad. We were on our way home from the doctor's office and decided that I needed some form of healthy sustenance to battle the cold so we just stopped in here. And to my delight, I saw the new lobster roll! I wasn't feeling particularly voracious but felt determined to do a lobster roll justice, especially since I had not had one in so long (D'Angelo's, where are thou when I needeth thou most?!). It was very pricey at $16.99 but if you get half as a combo with a soup or salad, you add $7 to the base price of the combo. We both decided to get the combo with a soup (Chicken noodle for moi since that's what parents love to order for their kids when they aren't feeling well) and sesame bagel (cashier was very good about letting me get that rather than a baguette). The lobster roll was good, let me just say. There wasn't a lot of actual salad between the rather thick ciabatta roll but what was there was savory, light, and full of chunks of actual claw meat. There was only a touch of mayo and no celery, thank goodness. It's not as creamy as the Boston-style sandwiches at D'Angelo's but it's pretty damn good for a chain located on the Main Line in PA. Apparently, it's only available until Labor Day so I would get one while you can. Personally, I still prefer D'Angelo's or even Au Bon Pain's (that's because Boston is close to mi corazon) but I will take a lobster roll in any form. read more

Stopped by this morning for coffee and a bagel as the power at my usual daily stop was out......should've just kept going. At 7:50 AM, there was absolutely NO coffee in any of the 5 urns. I typically drink Decaf...completely out. Ask the cashier if there's decaf on the brew, was told it'll be 10 minutes. Hmmm, I need to be at work in 15, so, OK, I'll risk heart palpitations and go for the regular Light Roast....nope, both dry as a bone. Moving onto the Hazelnut (ick), nothing in here either. Final option..the dreaded Dark Roast. (I know it's not a good option for the decaf drinker, but I'm late for work now)....NOTHING here either! After a few others customers started exhibiting the jitters and wild-eyed "need coffee now looks", an aggravated manager finally came over, picked up an urn to refill and commented "nobody tells me anything". (despite what the cashier said, there was nothing else brewing). I tried to be sympathetic, but c'mon it's coffee, it's the morning, you've got 5 people waiting in the coffee area, it's a Panera - it's what you guys do, let's be on top of it. All 5 urns shouldn't be dry. I was out of time to wait, so I asked for a refund, which she promptly gave. Very disjointed operation, glad I have another option as I won't be coming here again. This was my first time ordering delivery from Panera and the order was completely wrong along with a very inaccurate online order menu on the App. We ordered the French onion soup with the bread bowl which came with no bread bowl but a side of a baguette instead. This was to my surprise as the side of baguette was listed as out of stock on the app. We also ordered a sliced sour dough loaf which was "substituted" for with a stale French baguette (which may I remind you was also listed as out of stock on the app) that sells for a dollar less as well and is not what we wanted whatsoever. Ontop of this our order ran 15 minutes late (which wasn't that much of a hassle for us but it was very disappointing when our order was wrong in addition to this). All this set aside, our DoorDash driver Lisa was phenomenal and the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. She communicated that our order was late because of another order taking entirely too long and delivered our food with a sweet smile! I wish Panera was as amazing as Lisa and took the courtesy to communicate that they had to use substitutions or accommodated somewhat whatsoever. Very disappointed. read more

This place is a pathetic excuse for a restaurant. I simply asked for chicken noodle soup in a bread bowl. What I received was not soup but actually week old vegetables along with soggy noodles in a stale, hard, crusty "bread bowl". Along with the horrible food, this place has a terrible environment, especially for eating. While trying to eat, some child sitting a little too close for comfort poured his chunky tomato soup into a cup and proceeded to drink it with a straw. Never have I felt more disgusted. The food is good! The prices are reasonable. The folks at the registers could be more polite and much faster though. While I was the only person left in line, the two people at the register carried on a conversation in front of me, essentially ignoring me. It was awkward. Anyway, once I was past that, the food was excellent. The dining room wasn't very clean but not very dirty either. Crumbs and papers on the floor, but not necessarily dirty. I keep coming back here because it is close to my office but I really shouldn't. They get my order wrong 80% of the time. I think that I am being generous with that evaluation. I usually order rapid pickup but always make sure I come at least 10 minutes later than my pickup time. They are very, very slow during lunch hour. My salad is always missing at least one topping. There is no consistency either -- I never know how large or small the portions will be because it is different every time. I think the employees could use some training on quality control. I usually waste about 5 extra minutes waiting for them to correct my order (and I have to tell them what toppings are missing, which I think they should know). My advice... if you come here and order something to go... ALWAYS check your order before you leave because it's probably wrong. I love Panera but this location needs to be improved. One time they gave me a warm bottle of Pellegrino. It was gross. read more

The order I ordered was completely wrong from what I received. I left the store and then realized. Thankfully, I wasn't far when I noticed and called them right away. They apologized and asked if I was still close that I could come back. I go back, they give me the correct order, let me keep the first order, AND refund me for my meal. For breakfast, it's OK. However, anything beyond 11:00 AM is a total ripoff. For breakfast, I recommend the bacon, egg, and cheese, on a cinnamon crunch bagel.
