Maybe this is old news. Recently ordered Panera bagels for store pickup. Went well. Order was waiting for me on time. Bagels however were suboptimal. Middling to below average quality. Google AI seems to think that Panera has switched to using frozen instead of fresh dough:( Why do big chains always seem to start cutting corners once they have a firm market footing? Guess they feel they can use their market share and dominance to retain their customers despite cost cutting? Changes always seem to be at the expense of quality. I don't go to a Panera very often and I've never been to one for breakfast. So this was truly an experience for me. Fortunately, a good experience. My wife was already familiar with using their self-ordering kiosk tablets with buzzer notification so I didn't have to deal with that. I would have preferred to look at a menu with pictures rather than scrolling through categories and photos. But this is what the industry has come to. Having included coffee in our order, we went to the counter with the thermoses of coffee. It was nice to have a choice of real ceramic cups along with paper to-go cups. My wife chose their mild variety while I went in the direction of dark. She was very pleased with her mild version and said it had a nice flavor. I tasted it and couldn't really recognize flavor. My dark coffee was perfect for me and what my wife considered bitter. She was especially pleased with the oat bun that held her Avocado, Egg White and Spinach sandwich. Her only disappointment was that the spinach had not been properly cleaned and still had some grit on it. I was pleasantly surprised with my Maple Glazed Bacon, Scrambled Egg, and Cheese sandwich-wrap. Really nice maple flavor came through. It tasted much better than it looked. If I'm ever up and out on the road at that hour again I'll definitely consider stopping at a Panera again. read more

I lived in New York for a decade, so perhaps I'm spoiled. IMO Panera doesn't have real bagels, they have bread rolls with holes. Bagels should have some chew, and the one I ate did not. I found the ordering terminals slightly confusing, with no employee nearby to answer questions (like how to get to the payment screen - tip; tap the bag icon at the bottom of the order screen.) Equally confusing is the coffee situation; after placing my order for a sliced bagel I went to wait a few minutes for it. There was no coffee cup when I received the bagel. "I ordered coffee too. Where do I get the cup?" I was stared at for a moment before being informed that I should have taken a paper cup from the stack behind the ordering terminal. And how would I know that? Are no china mugs available? A cheery employee offered to get me a cup, which was nice but unnecessary. The urn of the light roast brew I wanted was empty, but of course there was no employee nearby to assist. I took dark roast and added more milk. So to sum up, their version of a bagel was fresh and tasty, but had no chew. Portions of the ordering process are incomplete or confusing; there could be a sign or on screen message about taking a cup when a patron purchases coffee. The bag logo could have the words "Pay Now" added or a "Buy Now" button added to the menu item buttons at the top of the screen to make the check out process clearer. read more

But this place was dirty and run-down looking, starting with the lobby entrance. Needed a serious cleaning! I don't think it was just from the lunch rush, either. 11/09/2024 I ordered Almond Pastry in the evening. It looked stale. I thought it was just dry, it was lying around all day and ate it. Today 11/10/2024 in the morning I had diarrhea. They sell spoiled food. This is the second time in this restaurant. 2 weeks ago I ordered Chipotle Chicken Avo Melt through UberEats. The chicken was spoiled and it smelled like urine, like it was dipped in a toilet. I did not eat it. I called UberEats support and asked that this restaurant be checked for freshness of products. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken, Scrambled Egg & Avocado Wrap this morning through the app. It was ready and waiting for me when I got to the store 15 minutes later. The sandwich was mostly wrap and all of the ingredients were smushed in the middle. The avocado wasn't sliced up so when I bit into the wrap, the avocado popped out and fell onto the floor. The chicken was clumped together in the middle like someone just took a fist-full of chicken and plopped it in there. The sandwich was very greasy too. This is the worst franchise of Panera bread that I have been to. The workers are poor and the food is bad. I have had several bad experiences here. My most recent experience I tried to avoid the poor customer service by ordering a family meal online. They forgot the salad, so I had to drive back and get it. When I called them to tell them I was coming back, they did not say sorry or anything and then hung up on me. Then, I picked up the salad and she gave me a half filled small container.... still no apology. Panera is a nice chain place to get a soup and sandwhich. The menu is interesting and the place is clean. The prices are above average but that okay too. The employees are always nice. During lunch it is crazy and loud but the food comes out fresh and quick. Bathroom was clean and had soap and towels. YES towels. Plenty of seating and it is great from groups. Never, never, never again. I placed an online order using their "rapid pickup" service at 11:52 AM and received an email confirmation that my order would be ready at 12:05 PM. I arrived promptly at 12:05 to find my name buried at the bottom of what I thought was a long list (see attached)--over the next 30 minutes I would watch as that list soon spilled off the screen (also attached). The most painful part was watching as people who walked in and ordered at the counter got their food before I did. I understand that the lunch rush is busy, but this area is home to countless corporate campuses where the lunch rush is nothing if not predictable. There was little to no management of expectations and minimal, inaccurate information from the staff (a woman behind the counter would sporadically yell out that they were 20 minutes behind--closer to 30 in reality). There were no apologies or semblance of understanding for the frustration of the countless people waiting. If there was a manager on staff, we never heard from or saw them. In the end, I spent 35 minutes waiting for watery mac & cheese and a sloppily constructed, mostly tasteless sandwich. I enjoy Panera for a break from the fast food monotony, but I will absolutely never return to this location. read more

Is zero stars available? Because of the extremely rude old lady that wouldn't check on my order, I won't be back to this location. The food is like every other Panera, same menu except dirtier slower and more disrespectful than any other Panera. Take out orders are left sitting around until they are cold. This place was so dirty from the entrance to the floor to the tables. I did ask to speak to the manager to tell her that it was really in bad shape and she made excuses like they were busy all day but the dirt was there from a month ago. So sad!! This Panera Bread location is awful. I ordered the Frontega chicken sandwich, and the chicken was completely inedible. It was complete rubber and about as good as I would expect chicken from the dollar store would be. The broccoli cheddar soup was so runny and watery-- maybe from someone crying about the horrible reviews for this location. They also got most of our order wrong and were rude when we asked them to correct things. So, heed caution when coming here and the poor ratings for this location were accurate and very easily earned by this subpar team. read more

Are there negative stars to award? Although the food is passable, the website is impossible and the service is terrible. I tried to order on line last week and they would only accept "Apple pay" which I don't have. They would not accept a credit card on line. I was parked outside for pickup, and finally had to go inside to order (does this not negate the idea of "pick up"?). Today whenI tried to go online to order, there was no way at all to pay for the order. I just left the restaurant at 9:20pm on July 13th. First off, the food was absolutely terrible. I understand they are missing some ingredients but the food we received should not be served at full prices. It looked like something a five year old made. Second, the female manager gave us a hard time for sitting down to eat a meal at 9:18pm when they close at 9:00pm. No one informed me they were closing when I ordered the food. She didn't start off by informing me in a semi-pleasant tone that they were closed. I'm more than happy to leave, but the terrible food and rude manager were really just a killer combo. This place is generally good. The people are nice and the food is usually good, but some days they do seem to be off. My Modern Caprese had a pinch of mozzarella, and more leafy greens than anything else, while someone else's strawberry chicken salad had no chicken at all. I love Panera and go there often when on the road for work but the local Panera by our house in Gateway Shopping Center is constantly messing up. First off, great hours for working folks during the week and studying folks on the weekends. Unfortunately, B&N down the street doesn't have a more flexible operating hours. Anyways, I love their hazelnut coffee and 3-seed demi. Their bagels are wonderful and try to pick them up here for my workplace's Thursday bagel club. Here are some of the pluses: * Bagels- cranberry walnut * Soups- black bean * Sandwiches- chicken salad on rye * Bread- 3-seed demi * Coffee- hazelnut I would avoid their Wi-Fi since my laptop got infected. I don't know if it's because of their unsecure Wi-Fi or my laptop already got infected beforehand. Sorry, either sold out or it would be a bit of a wait while they thawed/reconstituted a new batch yet online all were listed for sale without restriction. Soft Dinner Roll? Sorry, sold out. In terms of the sandwich it was the same idea with not being able to get it on as many things as you could get it on in terms of bread. So in the end I had to really compromise and not choose what was wanted but more of what was left. Blah! The majority of the wire racks on the wall which I guess would normally either be full or would have at least something in them were just about all empty. I even joked with the cashier that they should just call themselves Panera and drop the bread part since they really didn't have any and she thought that was a great idea since she said that they were out of so much stuff that it would take a all day Sunday to replenish everything and that the Sunday morning shift would be mad because they would be out of so many things. Eventually soup was ordered even though it wasn't what I came for (creamy chicken and wild rice versus broccoli cheddar) and a salad was procured instead of a sandwich due to a lack of bread choices so not all was lost but there was a hell of a disconnect between what the Panera site will let you order was what the store was able to produce/actually had available to sell. read more

Coworkers often bring in fresh baked sweets from here in the morning including danishes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, etc. I love their cinnamon rolls and my favorite bagel is there Cinnamon Crunch topped with their honey walnut cream cheese. Of course, as good as all this stuff is, it also means I have to hit the gym pretty hard later that day! You can rack up the calories pretty quick here if you aren't careful. What I do like is the fact that they publish the calories by all of their menu items, which I wish more places would do. Anyway, have also been here for lunch on several occasions and always enjoy my sandwiches. The place is clean, service is friendly and quick, and I like the food here. Short of the Gateway Shopping Center to be a pain to get in and out of during the lunch hour, I like coming here. read more

Good place for a quick lunch if you do not come directly during the lunch rush. Trying to get a seat, find parking & getting out of the parking lot is a challenge if you come around 12. I was here at 2 and there were only a few people there. It's a nice little place for something warm during this season & quiet to do work. I did the pick 2 with Tomato soup & a Smokehouse Turkey Panini. The soup was warm & tasty. I would have liked it a little creamier though. The panini was just okay though. I don't know if it was the choice of the sandwich or not but I wasn't a huge fan of it. The menu says the spread is "sun-dried tomato ale mustard" but the cheddar cheese definitely overpowered the spread. Maybe a little more spread next time. Just the pick 2 with no drink came out to be $8.58. There are cute little cups by the drink fountain if you want water. There is also a bucket of lemon if you want to get a little fancy. read more

What has happened to Panera? I am a regular of this place and it's a great quick option. I usually go 2-3 times a week but the service and food has really declined. The last three times I went, my order was flat out wrong. The cold brew coffee was undrinkable. I sent it back and the woman gave me attitude. It was wrong again when she handed it back to me. I got a cheese soufflé that was cold. Truly cold. I threw the coffee and soufflé away and left. It's really a shame. I love Panera but won't be going back. Is there a manager on duty in this place? This Panera used to be my favorite go-to fast food breakfast location when I was younger. Now it's just a shell of itself with workers/management trying to find shortcuts instead of more competent workers. So an individual can order two breakfast sandwiches that would take any normal human 5 minutes to make, and end up waiting 40 minutes. This leads to food being cold upon completion and the wraps for their breakfast wraps being stale. Why on earth anyone would or should pay for breakfast here is beyond me. Consistent service and food, as you'd expect with standard Panera's. This location has some good managers who make an effort to know their clientele and make them feel welcome. Lunchtime can be busy, but with the effortless ability to use the app to order ahead, it's a no-brained for a fast lunch pickup. It's also a good place in the evenings for a dinner meeting or small group discussion since it quiets down a couple of hours before closing. read more

This location is great. The one manager, Dan is great and very hardworking, like the whole team. I usually go here for lunch with a friend and the one time it was crazy busy. I went back another time for a refund after first talking to someone on phone (also great to talk to and very helpful and understanding) and Dan took care of us and went above and beyond to remedy the situation, all while being busy and dealing with the lunch rush. Very nice and probably the best experience I've had at a Panera. Great team and great managers and pretty decent food. read more

While the food was, as usual, good, the service at this location is horrendous. I stopped on my way back to the office during lunch. I had a good 20 mins to pick up my food and get back, which was more than feasible. I did not anticipate waiting 25 mins for my order though. They miss the concept of fast food. On my way out, I happened to pass the manager. So, I said, "25 mins to wait for my food is ridiculous". Without even stopping, he said, "I don't disagree" and kept walking.
