The food is incredible! The pastries are to die for. But the rude customer service makes it unappealing to go. Just today the lady (older lady with kind of grey hair-didn't get her name) doing the checkout acted like we're a horrible inconvenience and when I asked for decaf latte she rudely said we don't have it. So when I went to pick up my coffee, there's a sign on a grinder that said DECAF. it's not that hard to just ask if you don't know. That lady was a trip. Absolutely horribly rude and bad attitude. Like why work there if you hate us so much. Another time I went in and got myself a gluten free brownie- I have celiac and my husband another dessert. The guy put the desserts in the same box which made the brownies inedible to me. I didn't even say anything and went on my way to not cause drama. I'm giving these guys a very low score based on their baguettes. When they first reopened, the baguettes were perfect. They were cooked all the way. Then the guy who made them left and now what they are presenting is half done. I do not see why they cook the rest of their bread all of the way and the baguettes they only cook half way. Another thing I don't like is their attitude toward special requests. I can't eat anything with eggs and I asked them if they would make anything like morning buns without the egg wash. They acted real offended like I was trying to tell them how to bake. Their attitude was this is how we make it, too bad. Sad. With tax I spent $16+ for a loaf of banana bread that appeared to be thawing out from being frozen. I asked and the gal she said no, everything is always fresh and it was simply refrigerated. It was a gift. Was so crumbly and dry my house hostess tossed it. Embarrassing. In addition it had chocolate chips -- not listed on sign. She is allergic to chocolate, which I knew, so I never would have selected had it been properly noted. I previously purchased a pumpkin/pepita loaf that was amazing. I feel very fortunate that I live 12 minutes away from this fabulous bakery. If I lived closer I'd be eating one of their delicious baked goods everyday. Recently I ordered two cheese danish, ( a day ahead, because they usually sell out of them early in the day). I am a foodie, I admit. First bite was surprisingly delicious. I mean beyond what I could have expected. Melt in your mouth delicious. Not like any cheese danish I have had before ever, and I am not exaggerating. Light outer crispy, flaky and a creamy cheesy center. I had had a croissant from there before. I am afraid to try their sandwiches, and their pan pizza. I've heard they are exceptional too! Picked up a sourdough loaf at Tartine Bakery, San Francisco last week. This bakery is nationally recognized. Interesting fact, if you take the sourdough starter and flour out of San Francisco, it will change it's flavor due to the local wild yeast and bacteria. Having bought a Pangaea sourdough loaf yesterday that was crunchy and filled with a delicious, tangy flavor, I declare it to be a dead heat. Nicole, your business is big and your output of expense is the same and so therefore understand your high prices, us consumers are paying your high lease, but the quality isn't matching. you have been in town a long time, hence your smaller store ,the community at large has been disappointed on your new venue and I can see why on every visit. Reading the reviews, the people are talking, your crust on some breads is over done, prices high, snotty people, as some complaints.We have encounter this too, so when I do visit i want a treat but then again we find it disappointing. We will just move from this bakery's who seems overpriced and not what it should be for a new bakery in town. We use to be able to go in the old bakery and be pleased. My husband and I really enjoyed popping in here today. I have been wanting to try Virgin Cheese vegan cheese and was excited that they carried it. The smoked gouda is lovely and happily doesn't have that sour tang a lot of vegan cheeses have. Pleasantly surprised to see so many Rancho Gordo products and other specialty items on the shelves. My husband grabbed a sandwich from the cold case and I got a baguette to go with my cheese. The baguette is PERFECT the crust is crispy but not hard and the middle is soft with the right amount of chew. We for sure will be back! read more

This is one of my favorite places in Prescott. It feels like you are in Europe. The baked goods are amazingly delicious. We shared a BLT Supreme sandwich. It was so fresh and flavorful. Their bread is the BEST. There is a small grocery store where you can get fresh vegetables and also high end olive oils, vinegars, cheeses, chocolates, etc. You must try this place when you are in town. read more

Quite honestly the best BLT I have had, no exaggeration. The only reason I have them 4 stars instead of 5 is because it took us about 20 minutes just to place an order over the phone. Evidently, you can't order 10 sandwiches in one order, so we had to make 3 different calls in order to make it happen. I understand needing advance notice, but they were still able to make all our sandwiches. In my opinion, their rule just caused us and them more inconvenience. I'd suggest an extra service fee for orders over a certain amount of sandwiches when ordered same day. Otherwise, amazing!! read more

Incredibly delicious Sonoran oven-roasted turkey sandwich with bacon served on the softest and tastiest sourdough bread. The sandwich was huge -- large enough for my husband and I to share. We are from Maryland, and we had some of the best food stores and restaurants in the country. We retired in Cottonwood, Arizona, and we love it here, although there isn't a great bakery here. We usually drove to Phoenix to get higher quality groceries. One day, We went to Tuesday morning in Prescott, and found this bakery , and it is incredible. The breads are amazing, and the sweets are absolutely wonderful as well. Every week now we drive over the mountain from Cottonwood to go here. It is worth our drive. The owner is very sweet as well as the employees. I will be returning here with my wife for years to come hopefully. They also serve sandwiches . Don't tell too many people As it may get too crowded. So, it is a bakery and the bread is as good as I've had in any big city around the world. But the sandwiches which they so casually serve up will blow your mind. We used to purchase more frequently from this bakery in the past. Cupcakes (which are no longer available but were excellent) pastries, bread, canned goods, bean, etc. Customer service became really bad a couple of years ago and we stopped frequenting/purchasing because of that specifically. Fast forward to 2024 and it's gotten actually worse! My spouse and I went in today to give it another try. Started out with selecting breads which we asked to be sliced and the girl behind the counter acted like that was going to be an inconvenience to her, yet she asked if that was all wanted? Told her no we were going to purchase several pastries but would wait until she was done slicing our breads and then we would let her know all the other pastries we had already picked out. Upon slicing and wrapping our breads she hastily set them on the counter and proceeded to help people who were in line behind us while my spouse and I had been left waiting ( like we had just walked in) to finish telling her our multiple selections we had already picked out. At that point my Spouse just wanted to walk out without purchasing anything at al! Eventually another employee meandered up and asked if they could "get us something?" Needless to say we we paid for the breads, didn't purchase anything else as planned and unfortunately won't ever be back because of the consistent bad / disrespectful customer service! read more

I visit this bakery weekly, I love their Italian sub, kale salad, baked goods! What gets me every time though is if I ask to substitute a certain cheese the kitchen will say no? It's wild that a 20 dollar sandwich I can't switch out something as simple as cheese. I could definitely understand if it was premade I've been in the industry for over 20yrs I know it's a call chef makes. To clarify it's happened a few times when I've ordered a freshly made sandwich. I've also noticed to not come in when it's an hour before closing, staff wants to get out of there and they will give you the side eye and say their kitchen is closed. read more

Popped in for the first time yesterday afternoon, 7/8/2022. Was pleasantly surprised that they had gluten free carrot cake. As I was eating it, I must have thought about five times, "I sure hope they were right about this being gluten free, because you definitely can't tell." OVERPRICED + MIDDLING QUALITY Had high hopes that we'd finally get a decent bakery in Prescott, but this place disappointed with extremely overpriced baked goods that were just "meh" and slow-as-molasses counter service. Do not recommend, unless you have money to burn on wannabe "artisan" products. * Lemon Meringue Tart: A 3-inch tart shell with a couple of tablespoons of lemon curd-like filling and a dollop of meringue. The filling was nice, but at $6.50 this item was not worth the high price. * Chocolate Chip Cookie: Very average, with a weird half-chewy, half-crumbly texture. Definitely not worth the $2.50 price tag, despite the large size. * Brownie with Cream Cheese: Decent chocolate flavor and fudge texture. The cream cheese didn't add much. Slightly better than a good boxed brownie mix. $3.50 for a 1.5 x 3 inch slice. * Marshmallows (plain, chocolate, peppermint): The peppermint one had a good flavor. The chocolate one had the barest hint of a cocoa aftertaste and the plain one was forgettable. Price wasn't too bad - $0.69 each for a 2-inch cube - but these weren't much better than store-bought marshmallows. * Chocolate Cinnamon Scone: The "star" of the group, my wife loved it. About 3 inches square with a subtle cinnamon flavor, though it only had two chocolate chunks in it. At $3.50, price was not too bad. Apparently they're famous for their Stollen but at $18 for a small loaf, we weren't willing to pay that much for a spiced fruit bread. Excluding the in-house baked goods, the product shelves were stocked with artisan/gourmet (read: overpriced) chocolates, cheeses, quince paste, fig "salami", panetonne, and cold drinks. Quality needs to improve and prices need to drop before we'll consider coming back. read more

did a Thanksgiving pre-order. Picked up Wednesday morning . The gentleman who assisted me was very friendly and the process appeared to be accurate. My order was a baguette and a cranberry/walnut loaf. When he handed me the loaf, it was still warm..nice. But, alas, upon cutting into the loaf , surprise at not seeing any cranberries...it turned out to be some sort of cheesy loaf. Oh well, although disappointed, it was eaten. I have had the pleasure of being a customer at Pangaea Bakery for years, I was disappointed when the closed at the Firehouse. Not long ago I passed the area of the 'new' location and was thrilled. The personnel are exceptional, the products outstanding. We ordered the Pumpkin Pie again for Thanksgiving and it was fantastic; we will always order our pies from Pangaea.
