Food is yummy, but as most things in downtown Ashland - pricey. Portions are not too large.

After becoming a vegetarian I've had an interesting time finding places to go for lunch that could offer more than a side salad. We were driving back to Portland from Chico and wanted to stop in Ashland for lunch. I am SO GLAD WE DID! After looking for places on Yelp we decided to go to Pangea. I ordered the Grill from Ipanema. It was a perfect blend of lettuce, tofu, avocado, tomatoes and red onions. The creamy and perfectly spiced garlic aioli was the perfect touch to this wrap! It was crispy, creamy, and lush with spices and I would say the best veggie wrap I've had yet! That being said, while the quality of the food is important, so is the service that delivers that food. I did take away one star for the service. She wasn't rude, she just wasn't the most friendly addition to an amazing lunch. read more

The "Squirrel Nut" salad was super! Filled with crunchy little seeds and nuts, and jazzed with the addition of the delicious goji berries. Eating healthy and well never tasted so good! It was a bit of a wait for the salad, but Shakespeare theatre goers like myself were clamoring for take away boxes to enjoy while waiting for the show to begin. Pangea has plenty of indoor seating, and a relaxed staff - maybe not best to go if you're in a hurry, but otherwise, yes, indeedy! Vegetarian, Vegan or Not? This may be the best restaurant in Ashland when considering unique tastes, simplicity of meals, friendly service and location on Main Street. Did I miss anything? The sandwiches are original, just the right size perfect before heading off to Shakespeare. Their soups too tasty and creative best in town. read more

A good place to stop for lunch when visiting Ashland. They have a lot of vegan options, and their pomegranate soda is delish. BUT both of the sandwiches we tried were both bland and salty at the same time, so I'm docking one star. read more

The food is reasonably priced and good. Do not come here if you are in a hurry. Our order for two wraps and a sandwich took 20+ minutes to be served. This is not fast food. read more

Pangea is a small joint in downtown that serves wraps, salads, soups and paninis. They would be very successful if they opened a satelite on the university campus. I have been going there for more than 5 years and every time I leave with a smile. There is many vegetarian options, but my all time favorite is "Eat your heart out" panini with chicken, marinated artichokes, herbed feta cheese and grilled zuchini. Yumm! Their soups are fantastic, too, especially during winter months. Try their rose lemonade. Great refresher on a hot day. read more

Great local business that serves up yummy grub. Their selections have fun names like "Wrap of Khan" - the wrap I went with, and loved! Organic cola is a nice treat as well! Watch out because this place gets busy for lunch! read more

Well, I was underwhelmed with the presentation of the panini I ordered. It was a sandwich, cut in half, on a small plate. Period. No garnish, nothing green. A brown sandwich that was pretty thin. The description read: Choice of chicken or tempeh slathered in barbeque sacues with caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and melted mozzarella. I ordered the tempeh and opted out of the cheese. It tasted good but I think it was missing the carmelized onions. I looked all over for them. Basically, it was some tempeh in BBQ sauce---end of story. And this brown 1 inch thick sandwich cut in two with no garnish of any kind cost $10 after tax. I will not be going back. read more

Portobello and blue cheese soup is delicious. The best thing is you can always sub tofu or tempeh for proteins in the sandwiches or wraps. Very reasonably priced and the staff was so friendly and quick. read more

The "Mother Stuffer Wrap" wasn't exactly stuffing, but it was stuffed with ingredients your mother would approve of and it certainly tasted worthy or a mother's approval. Like so many have stated, there's a bit of a hippy feel to the place, but it's not like there was tie-dye everywhere or people sitting around smoking pot. Instead, it seemed to be the health-conscious locals as well as some tourists drawn in by the central location and reasonable prices. Before or after spending some time in the bookstore nearby, this is a great place to grab a bite. read more

I will NEVER go here again, as they don't stand behind what they do. Today I ordered an Indian wrap with tempeh. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. And I do love my salt. I stopped the server & told her & she agreed that the Indian wraps are pretty salty. I took it back to the counter to get something to replace it, and was kindly told that I would be charged for the replacement. And the young woman at the register also agreed that the Indian wrap is salty. And, so why haven't they done something about the "too salty"? I have lived in Ashland for a number of years & have thought that Pangea was over-rated and over-priced. Now it's obvious that it's not about quality or providing a good service. I have really enjoyed their food in the past so this is less a review of the food (which is indeed tasty) and more a review of the lack of proper hygiene practices I witnessed today. I've worked in the restaurant industry for ten years, but I couldn't eat my meal after seeing the way it was prepared today. Employees were grabbing the phone, typing orders, grabbing dirty towels, running their hands through their hair, and then using those same hands to prepare uncooked food items (wraps, etc.) without gloves. Grabbing handfuls of raw lettuce and tomatoes for wraps for with the same hand that was just clutching the phone is just not okay any time, let alone during a pandemic. They were clearly busy and a bit overwhelmed but this just isn't cool or safe for customers. Hoping this was just an off day, but if not, these guys really need to reevaluate their food preparation practices, and pick up some disposable gloves. read more

I am writing this update for two reasons. One I feel the wraps I have recently eaten have not been so tiny as they were when I wrote the last review and while I still feel frustrated that you don't get any discount if you add soup to a full wrap and such I have to admit that while it isn't OFTEN....... the food is good enough that despite my frustrations I still find myself begrudgingly ordering food there. Popped in for a quick bite on our drive from Sacramento to Eugene. Located right on the main street in town, this place was really quite good. We split a veggie wrap and a bowl of their lentil soup. The soup tasted fresh, although it was a bit more water-y than I care for, and I would have liked a bit more seasoning. But the wrap was delicious. Tons of avocado, olives, and other veggies on what I think was a sundried tomato wrap. Service was quick, food was solid and affordable. read more

Extremely yummy sandwiches that could stand to have a little more meat in 'em. Got a bowl of borscht, the drunken bbq panini, and the french kiss panini. All were delicious. The sandwich bread was grilled to crispy perfection. The sandwich was sized just large enough, but it was very thin looking. I can't help but think more chicken in the bbq panini and more brie in the french kiss panini would have made for more aesthetically pleasing sandwiches. read more

Great wraps and paninis, salads tend to leave one wanting. Great environment unless you're hard of hearing, due to the size of the space. The food is excellent, but the prices seem a bit high for the portions. read more

This place came highly recommended and it did not disappoint. The French Kiss is amazing! It needs some sort of sweet tang to cut all the rich flavors. I made a little honey mustard to put on mine and it was spectacular. Rose Lemonade was amazing. read more

Really liked this place. It was perfect for the rainy day we were in town. We tried all the soups of the day and finally decided on the coconut sweet potato and the Brazilian chicken. My friend and I also split the Tempehst. Everything was great, portions were perfect. Fresh, flavorful, and surprisingly well plated. That may be a weird comment but the dishes were beautiful! Oh and I should mention my friend and I are big meat eaters, but it doesn't matter here. You don't need meat if someone makes vegetarian food this good! read more

Nice fresh eats. Everything we had was clean flavored and made of good quality ingredients. My main knock was that I didn't find the food particularly flavorful. I felt like I could hardly taste the blue cheese or carmelized onions in my wrap. Maybe to people who don't like strong flavors this passes as well balanced? Also, for the price, it wasn't a particularly large portion. It seems like this might be a good place to go when you want a light lunch as their wraps provide a good alternative to a salad. read more

LOVED my Gimmie the Greek (vegatareian/gluten free) wrap!! My husband had the Teriyaki Chicken Wrap and throughly enjoyed it as well. We're from out of town but there was no question where we wanted to eat lunch while in Ashland today. Highly recommend the place! read more

Wraps were good. I got the mushroom magic, which was delicious, he had the curried chicken, also very good. Good thing I didn't find out how much he paid for both until we were done eating, as it would have dampened my enjoyment. Perhaps I shouldn't penalize them for charging the going rate in downtown Ashland, but the wraps were on the small side, particularly for the high-price. But the taste was good. read more

Every time we stop in town we have lunch here. Today it was the Grill from Ipanema and MaHarissa. Both were delightful and a nice size. The rose water flavored lemonade was very good and not too sweet. Try it and you will be happy. read more

It was good. I had the French Kiss (brie, spinach, tomatoes, pesto) and the hubs had the Ranch Blues (Siracha soaked tempeh, and some other goodness). Both were on focaccia. We also had the Tapas Dance appetizer and we got it all to go. It was good and the service was nice! read more

My favorite lunch spot in Ashland. I always get the Eat Your Heart Out. It's my favorite- I've tried their other paninis and wraps but eat your heart out is definitely my favorite. The only downside is if you're in a rush, it can take awhile to make your food. The workers are always in an upbeat mood and are pleasant whenever I go in. read more
