What a lovely little restaurant! Very nice, cozy, and mostly shady patio area. The menu is posted on the wall and the food is high quality (they even have bison burgers.) Ordering is done at the counter and then they bring it out to you when ready. We ordered two cheeseburgers with bacon and pepper jack, a breakfast burrito and cris cut fries. The burgers had well toasted (crispy!) buns and were loaded with veggies- delicious and much needed after 6 hours in the car. My step little loved her breakfast burrito- it was huge! Oh my gosh, I had the BEST chicken sandwich here today. I promise I haven't been drinking the local lithium water or anything-- it was really just that good. Since I only had time for about one meal in Ashland, and there are so many interesting sounding places, it was hard to pick one. I chose Ruby's because there is a diner by the same name that I love in Santa Barbara. Also, the menu looked decent on Yelp. The chipotle chicken sandwich featured marinated dark chicken meat topped with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and coleslaw. The flavor of the chicken and the coleslaw was so bomb, and complemented each other perfectly. The bread was kind of like a small French roll. Very soft, fresh, and tasty. It didn't come with any sides, but the price was reasonable, and just the sandwich was enough for me. The inside of the restaurant was very small and cozy. I had planned to go outside when my food came up, but I was so hungry, and it looked so good, I ended up devouring it right there. I barely even had time to snap a pic of half of my sandwich at the "Forever Alone" booth where I was sitting. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was quirky but cute. As a plus, this is a great area to just walk around and explore all the local stores and scenery for a few hours or so. Would def stop by here again if there weren't a million other great sounding places to explore within a quarter-mile radius. read more

Hands down, best breakfast burrito spot in the game. I have to say not only for Ashland but anywhere you can get a breakfast burrito. I don't really like breakfast burritos because eggs in burritos are weird for me BUT this fine establishment changed my WHOLE entire mind. I think I've tried almost Every. Single. Burrito on their fabulous menu. My favorites are definitely the RBG, classic and anything on their specials menu. I don't know what they do with their tortillas but is the best part of the meal. Only thing I would probably take a star off for is the wrapping skill but because the burrito in whole is phenomenal, it offsets the falling apart part. The ingredients are always fresh, you have a selection of hot sauces (my favorite is the carrot one), you can get it mild or spicy(chopped jalapeños or nada) and the drinks to wash it down with, chefs kiss. Try their lemonades or coolers, you won't be disappointed. Another great spot in Ashland. I will also commend how friendly everyone there is too. We ALWAYS stop and grab a mild breakfast burrito for the road when heading back north. My girlfriend brought me here when we first started dating in 2019, and she knew what she was doing by taking me there. 6 years now, and the burritos NEVER disappoint. This is a Local Gem. They are known for THE BEST Breakfast Burritos in town (fresh monster burrito and they don't skimp on ingredients) = $9; served ALL DAY! Everything about Ruby's are just as we hoped given the ratings and rave reviews. Love the bright fresh colors outside and inside. Limited indoor seating but lots outside when the weather permits. The burritos were fresh and flavorful with mild and spicy options. The heat from my burrito came from freshly diced jalapeños. Yum! Hey Ruby's, your constancy SUCKS. Figure it out please so I dont have to stop coming here. Hint: I want the same ratio and portions every time. Not a big chunky burrito one day and a 2/3rds portion, loosely wrapped burrito (to make it look bigger) the next day. Or like... a chorizo burrito with one small piece of avocado. My friend and I stopped by during a day trip to Ashland. We walked up and really appreciated the colorful vibes. There were quite a few folks enjoying food outdoors, but there were still tables open. We walked into the building and proceeded to review the menu. The person at the cashier was so sweet and friendly. My friend and I had a few questions and they patiently answered our questions and offered excellent recommendations. I ordered the veggie Reuben with sweet potato fries and a side salad. Oh, and a chai, too!My friend was recommended the vegan breakfast burrito with bacon added! We took our number and sat outside. The food probably too close to 20-30 minutes, which was surprising. However, once it arrived, we forgot all about the wait. My veggie Reuben was delicious and had some nice cheese. The sweet potato fries were crisp and tender. The salad had nice fresh veggies and the cilantro dressing (recommended by staff) was perfect! My friend LOVED the breakfast burrito; however, it was SO HOT (temperature-wise)! The restaurant itself is a little small, but they do have some outdoor seating. Furthermore, the food is delicious! I think their breakfast burrito is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I was skeptical with it having 3 different meats of bacon, ham and sausage, but it was so good! I think the best part of the breakfast burrito was the crispy tater tots mixed in. I had gone to Gil's one day, and the friendly server told me to check out the sister property, Ruby's. I had two hour for lunch so I thought why not! They have a dog friendly patio in front, and a cozy dining room. There are a lot of choices but I ended up getting the special, a grilled pork sandwich with onions, mushrooms and cheese and served with curly fries. I took it to go since I was staying close by. The sandwich was delicious and the fries crispy. I only wish they gave me some ketchup for the fries, or at least ask if I needed some. This place has the perfect breakfast burrito. Its what every other breakfast burrito in the world wishes it could be.

A+ for the Reuben sandwich. It is thick and juicy and not your ordinary meat. I am convinced the corned beef is their own recipe after I bit into some of the pickling spice. Add an amazing spicy brown mustard plus the Russian dressing for a great finish to the excellent flavor profile. It comes served on great tasting, whole grain, wheat bread. This is a very very memorable Reuben! While I gushed over my Reuben, my counterpart, Mr B had chosen a regular burger. How dull, but he loved the excellent quality of meat. It came served on a toasted sesame seed bun, with excellent kosher pickle slices, lettuce, tomato, and onion, and a choice of cheese. A delightful burger, but frankly, once you taste the Reuben, there is no looking back. They offer some interesting beverages, one of which was the Gold Smoothie. This is made with mixed tropical fruits. You can taste the fresh pineapple juice, mango, banana, orange juice, grape juice. A very nice combo. So, on to Day #2. It had to be, after the lingering memory of great food coming out of their tiny kitchen. This time around, I had their Cheesy Chingadera, a spin off of a grilled cheese sandwich, with class. Throw in such tasty goodies as a fried egg, tomato and ham, and you should be drooling by now. Mr. B had his eye on the Steak and Egg burrito, yet another good choice, although I am all about grilled cheese anything, myself. At this time, there is no dining inside. There are patio tables with umbrellas out front in their quaint, tiny garden. Their sandwich board is filled with luscious combinations. Make sure you give them a try. read more

Apparently Ruby's in Ashland has a new owner who "can't speak English". We have been regulars at Ruby's in Ashland for many many years , we always tip very well and clean off our table and have nothing but the best things to say about them. BUT, this morning we ordered our usual breakfast burrito and when it came out it was the actual size of a taco bell bean burrito! I kind of giggled and said," ohhhhh wow that is tiny, what happened"? The girl who was working there said ,"oh well you asked for it cut in half that's why it's smaller". I wanted it to make sense I really did but she was getting more and more rude and when I asked to talk to the owner since he was there and I figured I'd give my feedback about the situation, she said,"well we have a new owner and he doesn't speak English so I dont know what to tell you". Ummmmmmm......okkkkk. we got up and left. The Ruby's in Medford is now the only one we will go to. They are very nice even when they are super super busy and they continue to make generous portions. When I say the burrito was the size of a taco bell bean burrito I mean every word of it! It's such a shame bc we absolutely loved Ruby's in Ashland but the quality and customer service is just gone. read more

This is my favorite lunch place. The food is delicious, plenty of choices, made with care, and priced at a price that allows me to go back again, and again, and again....all in the same week! I've enjoyed an egg sandwich, a cheese steak, breakfast burrito, steak and egg burrito, and a Jerked Yardbird. I would have each of them again, as they were all delicious. It was harder to find a good breakfast place in Ashland that my wife and I expected! Most of the best restaurants (so we thought!) in the city specialized in lunch and dinner service, and we weren't particularly in the mood to stop at a coffee shop or café experience. Ruby's stood out among the suggestions provided to us by Yelp, so we walked on over. First off, super cute building, décor and all. The weather was already pretty darn warm for as early as it was, but the patio umbrellas at each table provided enough protection to take the edge off. We went inside, waited in a brief line, and ordered a couple of burritos from the menu: I went with the Steak & Egg, while my wife went with Wendy...the burrito, that is. Settling in at a table, both appeared slightly more than 5 minutes later, hot, fresh and sizeable! Any burrito with meat and potatoes is going to be a winner in my book! I ended up eating the whole thing, and felt full for about the next 8 hours, so be warned, you'll be carrying this one with you the whole day! My wife only made it halfway through hers, partially due to a smaller appetite, and partially due to "curry fatigue" from having dined at Thai Pepper last night, and ordering something similar. She did say she enjoyed it quite a bit, but would have ordered something else in hindsight, just to mix things up a bit for her palate. Ruby's also makes their own variety of hot sauces, which I was tempted to try, but were, strangely, absent as an option as a topping for our burritos. I wasn't about to shell out $10 for an untested recipe, despite being a hot sauce junkie. We were offered Tapatio and Cholula, my two least favorite in the world. I feel like offering these homemade sauces amounts to almost free advertising, and I would have readily purchased a bottle of my favorite, if I'd had the chance to sample them along with my meal. Oh well. Maybe next time? Even so, Ruby's is high on our list of repeat dining options for our next visit to Ashland! We'll just have to make sure and leave plenty of room before hand, or do several laps around afterward Lithia Park to work it all off! read more
