    Chicken sandwich sooo good
    Jennifer S.

Oh my gosh, I had the BEST chicken sandwich here today. I promise I haven't been drinking the local lithium water or anything-- it was really just that good. Since I only had time for about one meal in Ashland, and there are so many interesting sounding places, it was hard to pick one. I chose Ruby's because there is a diner by the same name that I love in Santa Barbara. Also, the menu looked decent on Yelp. The chipotle chicken sandwich featured marinated dark chicken meat topped with fresh tomatoes, red onions, and coleslaw. The flavor of the chicken and the coleslaw was so bomb, and complemented each other perfectly. The bread was kind of like a small French roll. Very soft, fresh, and tasty. It didn't come with any sides, but the price was reasonable, and just the sandwich was enough for me. The inside of the restaurant was very small and cozy. I had planned to go outside when my food came up, but I was so hungry, and it looked so good, I ended up devouring it right there. I barely even had time to snap a pic of half of my sandwich at the "Forever Alone" booth where I was sitting. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was quirky but cute. As a plus, this is a great area to just walk around and explore all the local stores and scenery for a few hours or so. Would def stop by here again if there weren't a million other great sounding places to explore within a quarter-mile radius.

Hands down, best breakfast burrito spot in the game. I have to say not only for Ashland but anywhere you can get a breakfast burrito. I don't really like breakfast burritos because eggs in burritos are weird for me BUT this fine establishment changed my WHOLE entire mind. I think I've tried almost Every. Single. Burrito on their fabulous menu. My favorites are definitely the RBG, classic and anything on their specials menu. I don't know what they do with their tortillas but is the best part of the meal. Only thing I would probably take a star off for is the wrapping skill but because the burrito in whole is phenomenal, it offsets the falling apart part. The ingredients are always fresh, you have a selection of hot sauces (my favorite is the carrot one), you can get it mild or spicy(chopped jalapeños or nada) and the drinks to wash it down with, chefs kiss. Try their lemonades or coolers, you won't be disappointed. Another great spot in Ashland. I will also commend how friendly everyone there is too. You can call in your order and it could be super busy but never too busy for you. Great place. Love it.

not food, just Ashland vibes outside of Ruby's lol

We ALWAYS stop and grab a mild breakfast burrito for the road when heading back north. My girlfriend brought me here when we first started dating in 2019, and she knew what she was doing by taking me there. 6 years now, and the burritos NEVER disappoint. Ruby's will always have a special place in my heart. The ambiance is very Ashland-like lol. It's just a hole in the wall type place, but wonderful. The people who work there are a hit or miss, but usually very nice and busy!

Side Salad = $5 *sharable portion, if both get a main item* Reuben Sandwich =$9.50 *delish*

This is a Local Gem. They are known for THE BEST Breakfast Burritos in town (fresh monster burrito and they don't skimp on ingredients) = $9; served ALL DAY! Not just me, the local paper votes every year and they keep winning :) Everything here is good. The "special of the day" is hit/miss. Everything is made to order, so expect to wait. They have Indoor and Lots of Outdoor seating. Half of the outdoor tables have umbrellas. Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome in the outdoor seatings areas *yay* Order inside at the counter and find a table. I love this place. Taking the doggie for a random walk, I call Ruby's ahead of time for a breakfast burrito *spicy* and it's usually ready 15-20 minutes later when I arrive. Cons: They no longer provide, make or sell their own hot sauce *sadness*

Riley's Cheese Steak- highly recommend and get a side of fries

Cute, funky, fun restaurant. Great food!! Highly recommend the Reuben and the Riley's Cheese Steak. Asked for the French fries well done. They were perfect and the best fries I've had in ages. Workers were friendly and helpful. If I lived closer, I would be a regular!! Next time I visit...

Everything about Ruby's are just as we hoped given the ratings and rave reviews. Love the bright fresh colors outside and inside. Limited indoor seating but lots outside when the weather permits. The burritos were fresh and flavorful with mild and spicy options. The heat from my burrito came from freshly diced jalapeños. Yum! Our server was friendly and was very cute in her spider web Halloween jammies.

    Great drinks!

no frills and clearly a hippie joint, but the food was excellent. Loved the housemade English muffin egg sandwich. Chai was also excellent.

They are melt-in-your-mouth delicious and looked like little polished celestial planets packed in a precious box of 9! This "hidden gem" (pardon the cliché) opened last year by Razia Hayden (owner & chef) and often has live music being played on the enclosed patio. She serves unique savory dishes, inventive desserts and beverages based on her knowledge of global seasonings, rooted in Mediterranean flavors. Most everything is gluten-free, locally sourced and made with spices originating from India, Indonesia, North Africa and the Middle East. I feel a certain kinship with Razia, since her dishes combine spices and flavors that aren't pulled from a cookbook or 3rd party recipe, but purely from her own creative chops, travels and heart. Before diving into her handcrafted chocolate bonbons filled with various creams and ganache (fair trade cacao BTW), I first enjoyed their French toast to prime my sweet-tooth. It comes with three slices of their house-made bread, soaked in an orange blossom custard, finished with a dollop of saffron whipped cream. Other menu items include: Lamb Pilaf with Saffron Rice, Turkish Eggs, Harissa Chicken Crunch, and a unique cardamom-spiced coffee to mention a few. I'll be back to try more! Truth...

We ordered the kebab sandwich and French toast. In total, this ended up being 5 slices of identical fried bread, accented differently. The French toast was not traditionally battered before preparation, so a bit of false advertising if you are expecting a fluffy exterior. It came with several clashing flavors of orange, mango, cardamom, and saffron. Not much subtlety and a little bit of flavor confusion. The kebab sandwich didn't match the menu, which described sliced beef, goat cheese, tamarind, and yogurt. It was rather a heavily cardamom spiced hamburger patty with salad, picked onions, and a light sauce. With missing internal components and no sides, not worth $20. The drinks were also a bit confused, with the aftertaste becoming cloying from too many competing spices and floral elements. While spice is the flavor of life, I'm not sure a spice-forward restaurant is my cup of tea. Perhaps spices should be used more as an accent than a staple.

The bacon comes crisp, the pancakes fluffy, the omelettes delicate, and the hash browns seared beautifully. Beyond that, they push their menu to incorporate delicious, more elevated ingredients. The smoked bacon omelette is a banger. If you like the carmelized flavor of French onion soup, you'll love this! So rich and deep with umami flavor, melding with diced bacon and fontina cheese. The Belgian waffle is also intense with bits of walnut and bacon baked in, which collides beautifully with hot maple syrup. So delicious! Lastly, I like to champion breakfast spots that have the courage to deliver expertly done hash browns. Breadboard doesn't even try, with the usual "home fries" cop-out (that nobody loves but will tolerate). Brothers serves hash browns, but they're usually soggy and falling apart. Not the case here. You get a nice, flat, crisp, rigid slab of hashbrowns, ready to accompany your main. Overall this is my number one spot for an Ashland breakfast. Definitely worth the small drive from downtown.

The ambiance alone is great for spending time with your bookstore purchases. The service was friendly and quick. They were a little warm for immediate drinking so maybe specify if you want your beverage less than normal hot for kids. The cocoa also had a bit of a cinnamon flavor to it. I thought it was delicious, but if you have a purist cocoa drinker in your party, again, ask! The adults drank drip coffee. It was tasty too! If you are staying in, you will get a ceramic mug, so if you want a paper cup let your barista know. The big win for me was the menu of gluten free pastries! They had regular glutinous things like burritos and quiche that looked tasty but the gluten free!!!! They partner with a bakery in town (sisters sans gluten) to have a variety of offerings. I have so many great memories of this place during the 12 years that my husband and I have lived here. I remember driving into Ashland in the middle of a snowstorm because I had an appointment with my yoga teacher and I do NOT cancel on her. After we finished yoga, I decided to pop in to Dobra tea and get a hot mushroom latte. I sat at one of the tables in the front room looking out at the snow falling. He ordered their avocado toast with egg, which I had never ordered before. He insisted I take a bite, which I graciously agreed to do.
