Nice, comfortable atmosphere, like usual. Wonderful holiday decor throughout. I appreciate them keeping the clear dividers between the booths to provide more privacy for each party. We had the pleasure of listening to a gentleman who played the guitar and had a wonderful singing voice serenade one of the Owners. It was her birthday! Crepes were savory and delicious. Food - 5 Split a Denver w/ a side of hash. Hash browns and hash cooked to perfection. 4th trip here and they are a model of consistency on cooking properly. Most places just simply cant get the hash browns right (crispy on outside, not dried out and moist inside). Service - 5 Pro waitress... doesn't use a note pad an is 4/4 spot on the order each time. We are currently stay in the Medford area to visit family and wanted to look for a mom and pop place to visit. Looking around on Yelp I found Parkside Cafe. From the reviews it looked to be a great place. It isn't very far from the hotel we're staying at. It a very nice place as you walk in. A lot of conversations going on. Lots of smiles. The decor is pretty cool. With assorted street signs on the wall. They have a mimosa bar you can sit at if you want. We were able to get a seat quickly as we walked in. The staff is very friendly. They didn't take long to give us menus and bring us coffee. The coffee was great. We sat at a very comfortable booth that gave me a great view of the restaurant. After a good look at the menu our server came to take our order. She was a very nice lady but seemed to be very distracted. I don't know how many times we had to repeat several things to her. Only for her to come back and ask again about an order. My wife asked for a smaller size of the omelette that she wanted and it didn't register I guess bcz it was a full size order when it arrived. I ordered the pork chop breakfast that looked delicious. But the pork chop had zero flavor and the eggs tasted weird. I don't know if it was the oil they use. But I found it odd. I wouldn't say the food was bad. Just meh. Ok. I was not impressed at all. My wife seemed to enjoy her food. But it was just too much for her to eat. Then as we cashed out. I showed the lady my coupon from checking in on Yelp and she replied they don't take Yelp coupons. So be aware of that if you go here for a visit. They also don't give Veteran discounts. We're not from the area. So it's not big deal I guess. Just thought this place would not be a go to place for us. Maybe if we come back I'll try another dish to eat. read more

I asked the hotel clerk if she had a breakfast recommendation, and her face lit up as she said: "I sure do! The ladies at the Parkside Cafe will take very good care of you." It was to be on a Saturday morning, and my wife and I decided popular breakfast places fill up on weekends so we should get there early. Sure enough, we arrived to a nearly full parking lot about half an hour after they opened and there were still a few tables available but lots of people arriving. They looked to us like regulars. The service was excellent. Our server was quite busy ... and yet getting our order correct was important enough that she popped by to confirm the details of our toast order. The menu had enough choices to keep me happy for weeks, the food was served at the right temperature, and it was good. The place smelt weird. I should've left at the first sign of the smell and look of the place, but my daughter really wanted crepes. I ordered 3 crepes for her and a breakfast sandwich for myself. She took one bite and said she didn't like it. I took her plate to taste for myself and to my surprise there was a hair in her food! Super gross. I didn't finish my breakfast sandwich. I paid and just left. I don't get the high reviews that are here on Yelp. I actually came here because of the high reviews. The area is sketchy too. There are a bunch of people shooting needles in their arms on the outside of the restaurant. It's across the street from a park and shopping center, so you'd think it was nice, but it's not. Had to come back. The servers are very nice and fun. The food is excellent and plentiful. At 9:30 am it was crowded, as usual, but within 2 minutes we were seated and had coffee. For a crowded restaurant there is a quiet a roar of voices--not distracting since there are plexiglass dividers between booths. Order taken in maybe 5 minutes. Food delivered 12 minutes later. IF you are hungry this place portions are HUGE! I am 6ft 220lb x-nfl player and I could barely finish their hungry man's dish. Pancakes are huge! A full plate. Oh my goodness! What a great find and on whim too. This cafe was the first place I arrived at, after driving 5 hours north on Fathers Day 2019 and what a find it was! So Thankful. The Cafe in itself has a lot of history to it, and I was waited on by one of the owners who was just on it, funny, and just an overall gem with a funky spirit, wish I could remember her name. Its a local joint with good, homey, down to earth, tasty, breakfast comfort food and it was affordable. Parkside Cafe is definitely for those who enjoy a little funky eclectic simple diner-ish, unassuming type of place. I'm really happy to have found it, it was a great way to start my adventure. Parking was easy, it seemed like a locals hangout, and the service was great too! Like I stated, it was one of the new owners who served me, she was friendly, quirky and spunky. in fact she and the other co-owner, were excited and happy I was on an adventure in their area that they both suggested i stay awhile and were kind enough to offer some suggestions of sights to see, visit and enjoy. Ordered a club sandwich on white toast w curly fries. The bread was un-toasted and the fries were cold and limp. I called to let them know and she argued with me that the bread was toasted. I think I would know! She said it would be 10 minutes to pick up. I was there in 9. On the phone she said it sat there waiting for me. Lie. I paid - then sat down and waited another few minutes before getting my food. Fries should have been hot. I used to love this place but the last 3 times have been a huge disappointment. This sucks I'm having to write this review, we always loved this place! We are regulars.. This morning my husband ordered our breakfast to go, we get home and realized it's the wrong order. So he calls first and they basically told him to keep the food and come back in and grab our order that was sitting there.. we live 15 min away so by the time he gets there it will be mildly warm, then by the time he gets home it will be cold.. it was a simple task to just remake it so we have a warm breakfast. Is that really that difficult? We paid this place to make us hot food seems like a fair request. eventually she ended up setting the phone down while I was talking to someone and asking if it's ok that they remake our order. I recently moved back to the area and friends took me here for breakfast. The menu is very good, lotsa yummy items to choose from. I particularly enjoyed the Eggs Benedict (although they dinna top the Gold & Silver Restaurant in Reno, NV). Service is a high point, we were well pampered, lol.
