I had a single process color, glaze, and haircut. Let me say first, the salon is gorgeous! I was amazed at the sheer size of it! I was escorted to a separate "Color Room", where my color and glaze were applied. Remarkable! Colleen was very attentive, making sure everything was applied perfectly. Off to the next room to get my haircut! Again, very pleased with how everything went, even able to look good doing my hair at home! Is it pricey? Well, there are many levels of stylists to choose from, so you can start slow, or go right for the Master! This review is only for a blowout & highly recommend Myriam. I went in for a cut as she is a level 5 stylist and was really looking for a sharp style. However, upon sitting down and doing a consult she advised I didn't need a cut but really need to work on strengthening my hair. She washed it and talked to me a lot about my breakage and how to heal and restore my hair. Then proceeded to give me the most amazing blow out. Too bad I didn't have anywhere exciting to go but would absolutely go back to her for color, a blowout a cut or just a general consultation. She is super honest and extremely knowledgeable. This week, my daughter had the worst haircut ever at the Panico Salon in Ridgewood. She chose one of the "Master" stylists in the mistaken belief that the woman would do a wonderful job for $120. However, the women just chopped off huge chunks of her hair. It is so uneven and she can't do a thing with it, perfect for her first day of school. I called the salon twice, was put on hold for ever and then sent to voicemail. I left a message, no call back. I sent two emails requesting a call, no call. read more

$455 dollars for completely ruined hair. I went for color and a cut with Yazmin for an important event. Left with a burned scalp, frizzy broken damaged hair and the nightmare of having to work a high profile event all next week looking like this. Supercuts would have done better. I started with hair half way down my back, healthy- now will have to find a salon to cut it short and let it grow back over the next 1 to 2 years. Incredible Salon! I don't normally write reviews, but I just went here for the first time and had an amazing experience. The front desk was professional, friendly and welcoming. Wonderful experience at this salon. The atmosphere is so nice. My stylist Kelsey was adorable and gave me exactly what I was looking for. Shes a color genius!! Genuinely rude employees and awful experience. My hair was thinned out so thin it can now be held by one small clip-- despite not asking for it to be thinned at all and having normal thickness hair before. I essentially have no thickness of hair left of my head which will take years and years to grow back. My stylist never once asked my name or introduced herself. It took over 50 minutes for me to start my haircut. I walked in she was on the phone talking to someone who was angry with their haircut, and then as soon as she hung up I heard her gossiping about the costumer to coworkers. read more

When I went to pay, the girl at the front desk asked for my name and I politely declined and said I did not want to give it or sign up for anything. She got angry and said "It is for the transaction!". I then said I did not want to give my name and it was not necessary as I just wanted to buy the hair spray. HUGE eye roll, hair flip, attitude, pout.... the works. I have NEVER in my life encountered someone with such a disregard for clients or potential clients anywhere. Would give Zero stars if I could. In addition to the fact that I heard racial slurs (I heard white workers using the word 'ch*nky' (I am Asian) being used by the workers, the service and customer service is awful. I first dyed my hair with a colorist. I then got extensions shortly after. I purposely got lighter extensions than my natural hair. When I came in for my for my first glaze and extension maintenance, my colorist made my EXTENSIONS ashier and far darker than what I clearly stated I wanted (there is more to this which I included in the pictures.) These extensions costed well over $1,000, and within a month of having them (mind you they are supposed to last up to one year), a colorist at the salon permanently ruined their color and tone. But mistakes happen, and I understand that. So, I wrote a letter at home defining my concerns and came into the salon to express these concerns. The manager (I assume) came out, and without letting me read two sentences immediately told me, with attitude, "you are not going to get your money back" she proceeded to say how the salon "bent over backwards " and went "above and beyond" for me , which was inaccurate and random. She essentially denied that any mistakes were made by the salon, and said they would be breaking off their ties with me. So much for the customer is always right. I was treated with extremel disrespect. I asked so many of my friends and family who have been going to salons for years , and they all agree they were fully in the wrong. Here I included the letter I wrote expressing my concerns, which the manager wouldn't even listen to, as well as the DMs with my extension stylist expressing clearly that my colorist messed up my extensions beyond repair. My experience at Panico is always pleasant. The girls at the front desk are personable and welcoming. Sometimes (not always) offer you coffee, tea or water while you wait. I've never waited long for my stylist however. I've had a few other stylists over the years here and always a nice cut. Since I began graying I wanted someone at a high level to knew how to reccommend the right shades for color/highlighting and styling. Mernaz chose beautiful tones and colors for me and has since given me wonderful cuts, always listening to what I was looking for or needed. She is a true professional, excellent at her craft and knowledgeable about hair! I don't go as often, perhaps, as other women might. But that's only because of the cost. I went to Panico's with my daughter to address an issue she had with a colorist on a previous appointment. My daughter wanted her extensions lighter, and they were made darker. This upset my daughter a great deal. My daughter went back to the salon to speak to someone intelligently about what had happened (she wrote down her concerns because she was so upset and didn't want to forget anything). She was met by the salon manager who wouldn't let her get a word in edgewise and just kept saying "We're done with you! You're not getting your money back! We went above and beyond and bent over backward for you!" I went with my daughter to smooth things over, but I realized as soon as the manager came out that there was no need to even try to talk to her. I made a last minute appointment for a blow out on birthday just a few months ago, and at first, I thought this appointment was going to end in a disaster... but it was a great experience and converted me into a Panico fan. I had booked myself so tightly I didn't have time to fit in for a haircut, and I was still nervous of getting a bad one since I'd put it off over the pandemic. I'd gotten there early, so when the appointment time had come and gone and I was 10 minutes into the scheduled time, I was really freaking out. The stylist didn't show - sometimes that just happens, but when it happens to you on your birthday... and when you arrive with your hair totally matted up from a 6 year old who thought she'd play stylist first and give you braids... you're in panic mode. I had a dinner reservation, and so the usually really generous card to come back for a free blow out another time didn't leave me quite as thrilled as I might have otherwise been. That would've been the end of the story for most places, but when the manager saw my horror at going to a restaurant with the mess on my head, they got Angelo Peter to work on me - it was about 30 minutes later than my appointment, but that time was well spent with the fantastic shampoo woman who worked incredibly hard to condition and rescue my hair from the tangled nest I came in with. Angelo Peter made time to not only give me a great blow out, but also cut and shaped my hair so beautifully... I didn't even freak out when I had to lose all that length. As I went to go pay, they refused to accept it for the confusion and said to keep the card for the free blow out. Of course, I won't use that card knowing how much time, effort, and skill they put into my service, but seriously when was the last time a business cared so much about you? I've gone to many salons in Ridgewood and never had such a great experience. Oh, and I walked into the restaurant, I stunned my dinner companion and later my family with my gorgeous hair. I have an important meeting and came here to post today because, as I was looking up their number to see if I can again squeeze in for that last minute appointment, I realized how much I trust them for my most important events. No business is perfect 100% of the time, but when you get a place that really seems to appreciate your needs in those most important life moments, you never let them go! read more

I booked a single process and cut, but he (after getting my permission) ended up using 4 different brunette shades to create a beautifully natural look. The highlights were chunked like it was 1998, she paid for a full head and got only her crown, and the manager was absolutely treacherous (I assume the manager, blonde hair and very unhappy in her job, and it shows). I had my hair done by a stylist named Alyssa Tirri and when I tell you book her, BOOK HER!! Of course I looked at her reviews before going and they did not lie. Alyssa is very open, honest, sweet and can keep the conversation going. She walked me through everything and made sure I got what I wanted. Although my hair was not the best when arriving, she changed it completely within 4-5 hrs or so. She stayed within my budget and also advised me on products for my hair type. VINNY IS AWESOME, go to him for any lightening, balayage, or ombré! He's got a great eye! He gets five stars! Wish I could say as much for some of the other stylists, though. I got a much too dark, crappy single process done earlier today. I wasn't informed that the color correction for my previous balayage would be an additional charge. I told my LEVEL FOUR stylist that I was a student, and she failed to mention itd up my price from $95 to $120...I already felt like an idiot spending $95 to get my hair dyed BROWN, but that was just ridiculous. They smeared some dye on my head in the sink and washed me out and that was it...a kindergartener could've done that. On top of that, the lady at the front desk suggested that $39 was an appropriate tip on a $95 single process since that's apparently "a standard 20%." Pro tip guys: Vinny is worth the money (and he's only a level 2!); just ignore the pretentious front desk girls and don't be fooled by the stylist levels. read more
